The protection of that valve is just not good enough, its a chinese product and we are first movers on batch 1 and 2.... Im glad Marty is testing the products but some folks  answers to the problems are a little surprising to me. Bearings and valve placement on a wheel is very important - Ingeneers know that ?

Am I the only one who can't read this S18 vs V11 fanboy talk anymore.  Everybody should buy and ride what he means, but the arguments are really mostly to grab at head. Sorry.

If you are a real fanboy, it doesn't matter what you get! Even a garbage can filled with used batteries would be perfect as long as it has an Inmotion logo on it.

34 mph, sorry about that. I was under the impression you could ride at this speed until 30% power. Is that false?

Another consideration on the speed increase to 80% battery is that these batteries discharge curves drop fast in the begining, then flatten out for most of the charge and drop off fast again at the end. I doubt there would be more than 4 to 5 miles of increased speed available. 

If I get the V11 I'm pretty sure of the extra speed still needs a different firmware available us here on this forum I'd just leave mine stock anyway. 

I still don't get the arguments between the V11 and the S18, they are very different wheels and I think they appeal to different riding situations. 

I may sit out this first round of suspension and get an MSP, which was my original plan. I want to be able to on longer rides than my current wheels, or the same rides I take but at a faster pace. I can get 30 miles out of my mcm5 but the ace speed needs to be in the 14mph range and no drag racing from a stop. Ride ends on battery beeps at about 8mph. I'm about 195lbs in gear and that on on mostly flat ground. Shorter fast rides (for the mcm5 anyway) where the ace speed is in the 19 mph range and the beeps activate a lot can drain the battery in less than 20 miles.

My 16s had a little more range but it's just not as fun to ride, too slow and way more stable (not as exciting or engaging).

My wheels are both kind of dinosaurs now in "wheel" time but they had also given me over 4k trouble free miles each. As much as I'd like to leap frog to the cutting edge there is a little voice in my head telling me to stick to the simplicity of the "normal" tried and true wheels for now. 

I am still looking forward to seeing how the V11 handles overheat hill though!

@EUChristianAt least my last status is that 55kmh is only possible with the special firmware and that only from 100-80% battery. From 80 - empty it is probably the same as with the S18.

But my knowledge is 1-2 weeks old. From then on I did not follow the S18 and V11 thread properly, because this fanboy talk was unbearable in both threads.

Always the same people jumping back and forth between the two threads, badmouthing one wheel and praising the other with stupid arguments. On both sides!

yes it is.... 100%-80% is 55 km/h, 80%-30% is 50 km/h....

Agreed. I think the V11 is better for me needs (as I will have only one primary wheel) and ride mostly on the uneven pavements of South Western PA. I also think the silence of the shock is better to me than the noise that comes with the S-18s system. If I was riding primarily off-road I would stick with my original plan and get the kingsong. To each their own though. I think both are excellent choices and will be the designs that the industry builds the suspension of the future on...

I were initially doing the same think. Going to sit out the 1st suspension generation until it had proven itself as functional and durable. 

But my bad knees persuaded me to jump after feedback dialog I had with Inmotion over time from January to April. 

I do understand you situation and if I can give you my 2 cents here there are 3 things to evaluate. 

What will one model bring vs the other(s)? Do you need this?

What will one model not be able to do vs ohter(s)? Does this matter?

How are you able to cope with any technical problem? And the risk from a new design vs elder model were time had shown what to expect. 

To me the Inmotion reaction yo feedback and how they have (much later than pre booking I made) constantly reacted made my V11 easy for me. And still feel as a good choice to my answers to above. Will all get to same conclusion? Most likely not. My it isn't my feels that made the V11 decision. It is my knees. 

Now some can call it fanboyisme ( @buell47 comments above) but I really think the V11 is a great design for an EUC. But I stopped to follow the S18 thread as it had no interest for me. I don't need to argue other people choices. But I will share what I learned from my dialog with Inmotion to others that look at this thread. I skim both KS and IM telegram channels. But KS is because I still own 2 KS wheels and kerping me up to date on those still.

Now to assist you to the answers to the above questions I think best place to find details fast is the announcement threads from both KS and IM. Unfortunately not any other brands has reached out to get same options (their choice, we moderators have tried to find contacts, either without luck or other brands intetest).

Now the short answer, a long leap to "cutting edge" could land in unknown territory. Good or bad. A little shorter leap can do the same but it get a little easier to avoid a surprise (good or bad).

@Unventor I too have a knee issue from an old dirt bike injury (over jumped and flat landed breaking the peg off the bike. Broke a leg, hip socket and blew out a knee) from 11 yrs ago. It's mostly fine but hard impacts cause bone on bone contact and I know you have a similar issue too.

I am waiting for your thoughts on ride comfort before pulling the trigger on a new wheel. Your feedback having a similar knee issue will be very valuable to all of us with knee problems!

I will give you an honest first ride review, but I will wait 24 hours before posting it. Main reason it is not until I rest my knee I feel the true impact. I know you like to ride fast, and that I am not going to do as yo me it isn't worth the risk.

I have not been able to view the footage yet myself. But here is a EUC.WORLD tour with lods of pictures. It is true Denmark is relative flat. Top is max 200m over sea level.

The bigger speed advantage to the V11 is getting 50km/h all the way down to 1) 30% of a 2) 1500Wh battery, instead of getting 50km/h down to 1) only 50% of an 2) only 1110Wh battery. Taking these two variables in combination (throttling percent in conjunction with battery size), the V11 has nearly twice the amount of Wh to play with before throttling if you ride closer to its upper speed limit/stay in the upper 20s mph (1500 Wh * .7 = ~1050 UtWh compared to 1110 Wh * .5 = ~555 UtWh).

(I have proposed the term Un-throttled Wh or UtWh for this idea. I would love a slightly more sophisticated formula that takes into account the amount of voltage each wheel will drain to, although which would only change things by less than 5-10% But either way I think the overall concept of something like UtWh is not only sound but more meaningful/useful than merely either of Wh without throttling percentage or throttling percentage without Wh, when it is the combination of both that has any meaning/applicability in practice.)

He stated quite clearly that he tried various different settings and, while the suspension worked, it simply bounced up and down without any dampening. Are you saying that the V11 now has a suspension dampener?

If he didn't adjust the suspension for his body weight it could be bouncy. It's as bouncy as you want it to be. At 150-psi for my 175-pound riding weight the V11 feels like there's no suspension  And the opposite is also true.
