Totally inconsistent with KS engineering philosophy. A company that will not let you go too fast allows you to ride low enough to damages the battery cells? Whatchutalkinboutwillis! :confused1:

That wasn't serious. I just showed a response as overblown as (yet still more correct than) eddiemoy's anti-Gotway crusade and battery math:)

Here is what I have noticed real world with the KS whine.

When I am on trails and encounter deer they seem to hear the whine and move or at least come to attention.

When I am on DC streets. Pedestrians do not hear it. If I am in areas crowded with pedestrians I must play my music.

On quiet nights riding quieter streets I find the whine comforting and soothing.

Don't know why its such a big deal to people. It's sound is a unique characteristic that I happen to like.

Well, to each his own, right? I personally find it very irritating and grating on the ears, but as with most other things in life people have different opinions.

I was very happy to read they're apparently attempting do something about this starting from the K16X and hope they're successful. The video @stephen posted suggests otherwise but I'm holding out hope that's an earlier version of the wheel (video is freshly uploaded though, and she appears to work for KS..).

The motor whine is one reason why I would never consider a Kingsong, no matter what the specs. To me, the sound is really obnoxious and reminiscent of tinnitus. I would rather warn people with a polite "excuse me" (riding slowly) or a bike bell. Hopefully KS gets rid of the noise with the 16x.

Yeah wine is still there

Oh oh! Me like the red brake lights inside the rear vents!! :clap3:

Maybe that's why 16X does not have rear light like other KS wheel before.. Clever design choice

Looks like we are going to get to try out the 16X this weekend!  Woohoo!  Demo time!

Looking forward to everyone's thoughts! I noticed in the short video above that it was at 63C on flat ground at night. I'm hoping they were just riding it hard, seems quite warm for flat ground riding.

If you can, check the temps for us please

I acturly had hope they would use the vents for that when we saw first sample renders. When I see it in real life I hope it proves to be effective as I think it could be.

Someone take some video, and answer all of our questions :)

Give us a "first impressions" video Eddie, but put your Objective Hat on - avoid the Hate Gotway comparison comments ;)

He is allowed "love KS" though right? 😉

Should we make bullets points for @eddiemoy for all of our question?

I'll start!

  • How is the ergonomic of the new angular trolley handle? Does it rattle?
  • Can it stand by itself when turned off? (KS18XL can't)
  • How loud the motor whine in person?

MOAR

  • Does it go down to 3.0V?
  • Does it really not have a tail light?
  • How are the side pads, general comfort, balance, etc?

No, those are the flames from the afterburners.  Listen again :)

I think the have been look at @EUC GUY home county and this movie for inspiration. Sorry for the Danish trailer text, but it was the shortest link I could find to make the point 😏 if you can see it in your country you know what I mean.

I wounder if the KS16X will feature this kind of acceleration 😊

@eddiemoy, here would be some specific questions that might not occur to you:

  • Is the motor quiet like the Gotway wheels?
  • How does the shell hit your legs near the top? Feels comfy or is it a bit angular/hard (like the MSX?)
  • Will I like it? B)

Great idea. (wearing the serious hat)

* Would be great to have some daylight and evening/night video showing light, breaking and turning lights effect.

* Some details about tyre, make, model, air pressure.

* The feel of trolley handle.

* Compare shots of it vs Z10/MSX/KS18(X)L

* How does wheel body shape feel. Marty touch it but right now it looks boxy compared to previous KS coin shaped wheels.
