null
same, I mean, sure, nice to se various aspects, but here I have no idea what to look for. We saw a bit of the LCD at the end being around 50 (probably Mph, so, fast)

BleepBloopBlop
Any word on how water resistant these wheels are? I live in Portland Oregon and ride year round rain or shine so I'd like to ideally get a wheel that can handle rain. My 16X had the on/off switch fail last winter and I was unable to turn the wheel off until I replaced it.
Flying W
This looks really promising. I was all happy to see how the suspended wheels fair in the wild and stumbled on this yesterday. Wholly cow! Looks like you could even lock it up through the metal bars if ya had too. The pedals do look pretty low though, and that screen could be an issue if it broke preventing you from turning it on but who cares. That is a crazy amount of battery! This is the off road explorer I've been waiting for. That is enough battery to really get out deep into the trails. @Marty Backe you might need to double up on your range test route to run this out of juice!
Popular Post Ben Kim
Demo wheel is out and about in NYC. Initial impressions from photo teardowns indicate similar build design as Gotway wheels; Axle nut/design is identical, Pedal hangers are the exact same width as Gotway, could stick Nikola pedals (with spacers) on the Sherman if you desire. The included pedals do not require spacers. There are some design improvements including placement of the board and fans which should reduce the number of boards that spontaneously combust in extremely hot conditions due to poor cooling (Gotway laziness). Lots of Gotway touches on this wheel, but luckily, not all the bad ones. The guard rail is secured to the pedal hanger which is cause for concern, given that rail could put additional stress on the hanger in the event of a crash. Without physically inspecting the connection, this is simply speculation. LCD screen IS plastic, not glass. No gasket around the case edges or the top housing to the board; could be a alleviated by silicone, but the lack of waterproofing is disappointing. Trolley area could be a water entry point as well. The tolerances appear pretty tight however, so it should be fine in light/moderate rain situations. Torrential downpours could prove to be an issue, however. Contrary to speculation "Calibration" and "Pedal Angle" are indeed related. Calibration sets the "0" point, and the pedal angle allows you to make adjustments after calibration is completed. LCD screen does not offer imperial numbers for us Americans. Demo holder attempted to connect to the wheel with EUC.World; it does connect but no data is streamed from the wheel. Trolley is easy to activate and reasonably tall. The headlight actually has a hidden feature that wasn't discussed: a separate set of lights (blue) that act as a flashing warning light; so you can have the visibility of your main lights while having these separate lights blink for visibility. Both headlight and taillight are secured to a bracket by hex bolts; adjusting the beam angle on both should be easy. Sourcing an aftermarket headlight if you wish to upgrade may be a possibility. Won't know more until these start getting into the hands of users. Demo wheel holder indicates this wheel has excellent torque like the Nikola/MSPro, more nimble than a Monster, but not quite matching an MSX/MSPro. Demo holder states wheel feels like it's just getting started around 30 MPH. His freespin indicated a top speed of 102.7 km/h, besting the MSS and MSX freespin speeds of 92 and 96 km/h. He indicated this wheel can be easily torqued by pushing or pulling on the guard rails for extra leverage. He forgot to pump the tire so his opinion on ride comfort is pending. Given they did not send any pads with the demo wheel, the holder indicated the case was a bit tough on his shins and he felt uncomfortable on the wheel given it is his first day. All in all, the wheel did not go up in flames, it did not drop him, so that's a positive start! I personally can't wait for the demo day on Sunday! EDIT - Another tidbit: This wheel is actually not 4 battery packs, but actually 2 split packs joined per side. Each "pack" contains 2.5p, equating to 5p on each side, prejoined, with two direct output connections to the control board (along with two separate inputs). An interesting design choice, but likely necessary given their lofty battery capacity and limited space. null
Thanks for all the added info @Ben Kim , I look forward to the first reviews. I understand they couldn't reinvent the wheel all at once, but the keeping the GW pedal hangers and lack of water proofing is a shame. The rain proofing makes the difference between daily driver not in a wet city. (basically it won't replace my 18XL) (not that the 18xl is officially rain proof, but it is made so that water trickles away from key components) Edited June 20, 2020 by null

Popular Post Nic
Hands down best feature of this wheel is that you don't need a smartphone to access all the features. I mentioned this in past thread on ideas for future wheels (can't remember where exactly) and finally some company has provided this very feature.I hope we see more of this on other wheels as it solves the problem of App compatibility and needing to get your smartphone out just to check your stats. I quite like this wheel even if I never intend to ride this fast as it looks comfortable to sit on and has a huge battery. Only downside is cost and also its quite fugly looking.

An interesting design choice, but likely necessary given their lofty battery capacity and limited space. Additional observations after getting some face time with the Sherman in person: I"m 5'9 and there is NO CHANCE I'm sitting on this wheel without some sort of a cushion. It's even shorter than my Nikola, which is surprising. I did measure out the width of the top area and its about 4 inches. You know what else is 4 inches wide? The typical Yoga block. Should be a super-easy fabrication of a seat using one. Diameter of the guard rail is 22-23mm. It is definitely of poor quality, cheap metal. We could bend that bar if we tried really, really hard. It actually slots in through the pedal hanger itself so I wouldn't be overly concerned though. It's rock solid secure and the accessory placement options are endless. If you tip the wheel slowly, I got the freespin of this wheel up to 105.1 kmh. Attempts to get it on camera netted only 104.7 kmh, but still. It's a solid 8-9 kmh faster than even the MSS. I thought I'd hate the long narrow stock pedals, but I absolutely love them. I like them better than the Gotway Nikola pedals which I have on all my wheels. Attempted to fit Nikola pedals on the Sherman and they fit perfectly, but you'll need to install magnets inside the case as the placement is different on the Sherman. Zero foot fatigue since no toe overhang for my size 9 shoe. Also that LCD is going to be very little cause for concern. It's just a plastic clear thick sticker with overlays for the buttons, we peeled it off and observed microswitched plastic nubs, not a glass cover like some of you were saying. If you wanted to be proactive, you could add a thin layer of silicone around the edges of that sticker to waterproof that area. Power button does not work while wheel is in motion, I personally tested GPS vs speedo, I held 30 kmh for about 10 seconds to test, and GPS reported 18 MPH, which is more or less accurate. That stock tire though will take some time for me to get used to. It's comfortable, absorbs shock very well, requires little effort to telegraph into a turn, but what bothers me about that tire is you have to recenter it yourself, which was a bit disorienting and made carving an adventure. Given I only had about 15 minutes to ride this wheel, it's hardly enough time for me to get used to the characteristics of the new tire. Pedal hardness modes, should more or less have something for everyone. The soft mode has that dip action the Monster has, which should please those who want that type of responsiveness. For those coming from the MSX, you will probably want to use hard mode although the hardcore MSX guys really gave those pedals a hard thrashing and could make those pedals dip even in hard mode. I didn't really get to push the wheel too hard, since the testing area was pretty crowded, but overall it's everything I expected it to be, it's just a shame I wasn't able to push it as hard as I wanted. It appears that all the functionality and tuning is pretty much stable enough for mass consumption. EDIT~ Forgot to mention, the tiltback functionality does not extend all the way to top speed, it is limited to around 58 kph or so, along with the level 1 speed limit beeps. So basically, both the speed limit and tiltback function are useless, like Gotway. Edited June 21, 2020 by Ben Kim

EUChromatic
Electric Dreams just posted a new video of the Sherman and it's the best look I've had of the wheel yet. Totally reassured me of my deposit for this wheel. A couple shots in the video show just how much of a beast this thing is. The way he just zooms away has me so eager to hop on this wheel. It ticks so many of the boxes on my list. Can't wait to get my hands on this!

Mango
Some of the most tantalizing footage of the Sherman in action so far. Kuji’s review going to be perhaps the most anticipated review of all time. Likely he’ll get the review of the Sherman out first before his V11/S18 comparison video. I’ve already placed an order so I’ll be anticipating its arrival like all the other plebeians. Many nights dreaming of the adventures we’ll be having together.

See the short Instagram video in this topic: https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/18801-the-veteran-sgt-sherman-hemsley-brief-thoughts-on-the-jeffersons-by-houseofjob/ They can make the pedals dip on harsh acceleration, which may (or may not, I'm don't know) indicate oscillation issues as seen on the initial 16X for example.

Yeah, that was interesting. I've seen torque tests like that before, but it's usually 1 or 2 bucks when it dips, not a reverberating oscillation. I'm not into the Kuji Michael Jackson lean, but the numbers don't lie. Now we just need to confirm the speedo on the Sherman LCD is in fact accurate. GPS test? PS: I noticed the voltage sagged by nearly half during his acceleration test. Starting to believe Veteran programmed this thing to fully take advantage of the 10p in this pack. I wouldn't say it obsolete other wheels. Its a 36Kg (or 35...ive read different specs...1 kg doesn't really matter) tank. Even if Kuji can jump and handle it, that doesn't mean its as agile as a much lighter msp when it comes to fast cornering, jumping a.s.o. especially not for the average rider (lile me 🙈). From vids i have seen it seems to demand quite a lot of lean to turn (a bit like the z10) probably due to the unsprung weight. And the z10 is about the slowest turning wheel i have ever ridden, but its also the highest quality wheel. I'm xing fingers they get into the game again with a slimmer tyre, more batt and power. For long hauls though, i would say its gonns be a hard nut to crack for gotway (monster) Edited June 21, 2020 by Boogieman
