According to the app it was 40° Celsius. The hill was 7.4 degrees angle of slope. This was literally the first ride and I was in the first 5 miles on the wheel. I had been taking it easy on the wheel before the incident because I was still getting used to it. I was only going about 7 miles per hour up that hill. For the people that are wondering I do wear all of my gear every ride. If it wasn't for wearing the gear I would have been hurt a lot worse. The thought might be how bad can you be hurt going 7 miles per hour. It was literally completely unexpected and almost a flat face plant. I had just enough time to roll to the side and my shoulder took most of the fall. I will be practicing my rolls so that it becomes second nature and I'll be able to react faster if it ever happens again. You reported the problem to Inmotion? Has Inmotion somehow responded to this accident?

Yeah it was fully charged before I left the house. I had charged it overnight and it showed 100%. At the time of the incident I had approx. 89% battery. I think you should contact your reseller, and have them do an investigation on your wheel. It could be a bad component or loose connection, it is very hard to tell right now. I had similar when my KS16X got rain damaged after 45min in light rain. I just don't have the experience to do diagnosis myself and I don't have access to spare parts to do a controlled test either. That is why I prefer to have a reseller as close as possible. My reseller of my KS16X is has been great (thanks @EUniCycles.eu) I hope you get your V11 sorted out and it is something "simple" that shows on 1 unit only rather a huge rework issue for all 1st batch units. I hope you will share more details once you get more info.
Sentient
Could it be over charging where the battery voltage goes over the limit if left on the charger a long time. This occured on my onewheel where the danger was if the wheel regenerated energy beyond it's set limit it would cut out. Also, I noticed the EUC World app beeps at me and repeatedly says over charge (or something to that effect) when I leave the V8 on the charger too long. I take it really easy till that warning goes away and the battery(bms) settles. I realize you were going up Hill so this is not a perfect scenario yet you did explain you had theV11 charging overnight and just had it out for a bit. Were you running EUC world app by chance? For example, then I am drilling through metal I use a slow RPM with steady pressure. Since the drill is running at a lower RPM with downward force the motor fan isn't spinning fast enough to cool the internals so the drill gets hot. When I am quickly drilling pilot holes in wood at high RPM the drill stays much cooler. Just a thought as to why the wheel may have cut out due to a spike in heat caused by demanding torque on an incline at a slow RPM. I like many others am trying to figure out why something like this would happen. A machine of this caliber should not just cut out during a simple procedure like I was doing. I went up the same hill with my V10 just a couple months ago with no incident. Hell I've gone up similar hills with wheels that had much less build quality and power with no incident. It makes no sense because I was taking it easy and going slow. I wasn't over taxing the machine or over leaning in any way. I've got enough miles on these wheels to know how to ride them easily up a hill. I used my angle meter to ensure that it really wasn't a steep hill. 7.4 degrees, that's it. I'm hoping a diagnostic can be run on it to maybe see what happened. I yelled pretty loudly when it happened number one because it hurt so much and number two because I was absolutely pissed off that a wheel of this calibre would cut out while doing such a simple slow maneuver. I spent nearly $2K for this cutting-edge machine and it shut off on a 7 degree hill going slow. I won't ride another wheel until I get fu^%$ super proficient at my roll technique and can do it in my sleep as the saying goes. Plus I have to heal up, my shoulder is pretty much toast right now. Can't move my arm much at all without a lot of pain. Second, that was the last time I ever trust one of these wheels. I usually ride as if I'm going to fall any second. I wear all of my gear and have stopped even trying to shoot video while riding since it is so distracting. I started trusting in my Z10 because it's always been so bulletproof. I trusted that the V11 would be that way because of owning a V10 previously which was bulletproof. Trust gone. I don't know if I'd responded to your question. Jason from E wheels has been handling the issue so far. I'm waiting on word from him as to what to do next. I'll gladly send it back for a full diagnostic to see what they find. I'm very interested to find out what happened and why a machine of this calibre cut out while doing such a simple slow uphill ride. I didn't even make it up the hill 50 yards. It was totally unexpected and that's the reason I wasn't prepared for something like this to happen. I'm 56 and respect these wheels. I take it easy on these things and don't do tricks and very seldom ride above 20 mph. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

Absolutely. I don’t think that shut off had anything to do with the slope or heat. Most likely a bad connection or component or firmware bug. That’s why it’s so important to get it to somebody who can inspect it. It’s very important for the rest of us that the root cause is found and fixed. As long as we don’t know what caused it every V11 is potentially faulty. Please keep us posted. And sorry that this happened to you. The trust issues is the worst. When that happened with me on my beginner EUC, couldn't ride confidently for ages. Even know on my new V10F which I've done close to 700km with no incidents, I still can't fully trust it. Guess it's better to have the mentality where you are ready to fall, then the mentality of being complacent. Hope your shoulder gets mended well and that we find out the different problems of these 1st batch wheels.
