Popular Post Marty Backe
I wore my cape during the Westwheel 2 ride in Las Vegas last weekend. During a long stop at an intersection, this little guy comes up and hugs me. It was very cute. I just discovered someone caught the moment on video and made this little animation 17

Popular Post Mike Sacristan
Turns out my life is a lie. I will post this in the PSI thread as well. My pump doesn't show pressure properly. I've been riding at over 30 PSI for quite a while now.... quite a while. Thinking it was 20. Not understanding why the Nikola felt better... joke's on me. 3

Very funny I've never trusted gauges which are part of the pump. Always use a quality dedicated hand gauge.

Yeah...Since windows 95 (or was it win xp?) the ccd imager I bought in the 1990s or maybe 2001 or so (while fully employed in Boston) has become an electronics washout. I spent this morning trying all the windows compatibility modes available on a W10 laptop. None worked in terms of installing the driver in the normal way ,(3com home connect USB camera - Sonfest Sac IV). In 2008 Mike Weasner of the Mighty ETX website suggested trying a Nikon D70 http://www.weasner.com/etx/astrophotography/2008/sac.html "Oh well, back to using my Nikon D70 DSLR. No drivers or special software required. That's how it should be!" 😎 Edited August 18, 2019 by Bob Eisenman

Mike Weasner , a former California resident, has used an Apple iPhone mounted to his telescopes with a bracket to take lots of astrophotographs posted on his website. http://www.weasner.com/co/Photos/iPhone/photos.html My lessons learned are (from reading) If you want to see a distant object in the night sky you need a long focal length (perhaps 2000 mm and up) to enlarge it in the view finder. Since distant objects (aside from planets) emit faint light you want to use as large an aperture (telescope diameter) as you can afford (8 inches and up) to grab a lot of light A focal ratio of less than 10 if possible A high quality imager Tracking software Image stacking software Edited August 18, 2019 by Bob Eisenman

The Moon, planets, nebulas, galaxies. This was taken with a small sensor camera (similar to a web cam) in a mosaic for the luminance values, and then color was added with a DSLR photo taken at the same time.
