Popular Post Scott Dorand Posted August 5, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted August 5, 2019 (edited) Went on my first trail ride on the beautiful High Trestle Trail in Madrid, Iowa. The trail is a re-purposed train track and has a really cool bridge over the Des Moines River. Since this video, I've gotten much better and more confident. I've found some really great trails closer to home I'll likely share in a future video. I'm embarrassed to say that since my motorcycle accident, I'm scared of travelling any great distances, especially by air (I don't like other people being in control of vehicles I'm in now). I was catching up on Facebook and found that the wife of an old college friend died around Christmas 2017 from choking on food. The ride day was on his birthday. We messaged back and forth a bit on Facebook the night before, with me saying that I remembered being at the wedding. He (a Lawyer now) and his wife and daughter had a condo in NYC with a view of the World Trade Center and New York harbor. After 9-11 his condo building was condemned from damage caused by falling debris. After 9-11 he moved back to Massachusetts. Another reason is if you fall, the velcro might keep the handle from swinging up and hitting you in a sensitive spot. (I figured the reason you haven't fixed it is because you're nostalgic over riding the 18XL offroad.) Awesome ride! You were going fast! Where the water washed out little ruts across the trail look like a solid jolt to ride over. But it seems like having some momentum helps. So you have experience with this now. 😉 Never had any issues myself, but then again I don't do "hardcore trails" that often. I like having a riding partner especially on nice sunny days along the seafront, None does 21mph on throttle only but she prefers to pedal on low assist and get some work in, but then sometimes the devil 😈 comes out and she speeds up . .
