Tawpie
I'm very cautious with power tools and fasteners of unknown composition. I prefer not to wrench the head clean off. Not that that's actually ever happened…
Popular Post Ksmack
I’ll second the impact driver. It is great at not stripping screws or bolts. The impact action really helps. Buying one of these made a huge difference for tackling my over-tight s18 screws. I had to use a penetrating spray on one particularly difficult bolt. On the S18, the soldering iron worked to break the loctite on one of the bolts on the linkage. On the other side I needed to use a butane torch (essentially one of those kitchen torches). You can control the size of the flame quite well. It doesn’t take long with one of those. Just make sure you keep it away from plastic and the batteries!

Not that that's actually ever happened… I watched FrenchUSA used a half inch drive impact gun to loosen and remove the three bolts that fasten the hanger to the axle on his Sherman Max. Fortunately, in this case, both the bolts and the axle were quite stout. So probably there were no consequences. But in general, the red Loctite is designed to be sufficiently heated before loosening. Gutsy move.

So now they are telling customers that they'll be shipping out a smaller battery version? Edited August 9, 2022 by meepmeepmayer
Rehab1
Made the cut. Just uncertain about pulling the trigger on the 1st generation.

Me too... but I squinted reallllllly hard and pushed the pay-now button. Here's my thought process. 9 out of 10 wheels don't seem to be blowing their boards, and the ones that do seem to be doing it at low speeds so perhaps I won't skid as far I don't think they'll do anything meaningful to improve the suspension cleanliness/stickshun between now and whenever, routine maintenance is just going to be necessary No reports of a smashed front handle or kickstand foot yet I have a spring in hand that should work for my weight Two evenings ago I was out toodling around on the MTen and an S22 blasted by… envy welled up in my throat eWheels is staying in the game, so I have solid dealer support I've waited a year… T4 is uber tempting but it's batch1 too, S16 might be the cat's meow but that's probably 2024. Master is just not for me. So if I don't take this, it might be a very long time indeed. And I'm already too old for this. The envy thing. Did I mention that? (this is not a 'need', it's a want... and I want my oompaloompa and I want it NOW) 8 6
Popular Post NErider
Confirmed my order too. Master is still tempting, but is more battery and less off road than I am interested in. There probably won't be anything comparable for another year or two. Sure two batches from now may have minor improvements, but when will that come out? Right after the first snow storm here in New England? December, or sometime next year?

chanman
All the initial ewheels ones are coming with 40T cells so have the lower capacity numbers but realistically pretty similar range to the 2220wh LG packs if you're pushing the wheel hard, and less concerns of over stressing the packs. If you wanted a big upgrade in range from the 18XL you should have gone with one of the 3600Wh wheels. I was going to say that you could take comfort in knowing you'll get to monitor your wheels while they charge in a 'safe' place, but then I remembered that your wheels enjoy a particularly deluxe charging station. (my life coach promised this particular oomplaloompa to me in celebration of our 40th… retraction would have been very bad form indeed)
Forwardnbak
Morning all, i’m new to KS app, does it record logs of rides? Is there any troubles using DarknessBot with s22? loving the wheel so far

I believe it can (Moments), but I've not been terribly interested in sending my location through the great firewall. I don't care so much that they know where the wheel is housed, but not as eager to share where it goes. One of the TG guys was able to break into their database and grab beaucoup information so know that 'data security' isn't stellar.

Darknessbot probably works mighty fine—I'm an EUCWorld fan personally. I got a really cheap (Moto G7 Play, 100USD delivered) burner android dedicated to the task. You'll have to pony up for premium to get your logs (detailed to the max) and tours uploaded to the inter webs, but it's one of the very few 'subscriptions' I feel is valuable enough for me to pay. But then, drooling over ride data is a personal problem... you may be lucky and not suffer from it.
