Ewheels might possibly be exposing itself directly for product/public liability if a BG still manages to self ignite, burns down a house or kills sleeping occupants.

The Portland, Oregon incident of BG self ignition, after three days dormant, at night with occupants asleep.....was it ever determined what was the cause?

BG fire in shipping container, BG fire in car trunk (Poland?), unknown brand fire destroying Euco warehouse.

Taking on onus of QC from BG because BG are not trustworthy....not sure if that is reassuring or the opposite....

No metal tubing like the Sherman, but bigger battery, nicer ground clearance.

EB is supposedly a separate entity but I have a strong suspicion that the photo with the display is blurry intentionally cause it’s the same one the says “begode” on newer RS’s..

Looks like the handle openings (sorry for the rusty english) in the back and front are a bit too narrow. You are supposed to lift the commander sherman-style by putting your hands through those openings under the handles. Looks like they are too narrow for a comfortable all-fingers grip. This could be a painful design blunder.

Good weight for those massive batteries, seems like a pretty decent wheel, also very cool if it's really 65kmh on the HT model. I'm wondering about waterproof it is, the charge cover on top doesn't look great I could see it coming loose which would really suck if it's raining.

Much more attractive than the Abrams IMO.

This is a poor Sherman clone. I’m going to poo-poo this wheel off the line…

The lift handles don’t look at all comfortable. Those edges are going to dig into your hands carrying something this heavy at 80 lbs. And not to mention durability issues as there is a seam running down the centre of the handles. No lift button like Sherman.

Seals around the charge port need to be close tight otherwise the the ports will be submerged in their own little swimming pool when it rains. Makes more sense for the ports to be in the rear, and have the speakers facing upwards, at the very least with sound directed towards the buttocks and up to your ears than behind it.

The headlights aren’t adjustable and modular. The rear lights aren’t even proper rear lights.

Top speed, nothing new here. High torque version might be a good option for long-range off-road riding, if 8-hour trail riding is your thing.

LCD display is too cluttered and need Gotway app to change settings. How does the display fair in bright sunlight?

So for $500 more than Sherman, you get 12.5% more battery, some $5 LED strips and $10 speakers, and worse ergonomics.

Jack mentions that this is not a hollow bore motor.  So some differences.

It's for the street!

The HT motor is amazing for the bigger guys 250lb+ that easily overlean the Sherman during lowspeed acceleration.

The HT version that beeps at 37mph is plenty fast for urban riding, and will be *faster* than the Sherman at getting A to B, because its lets you accelerate more.

Stub-axle bearings are easier to service, and more resistant to moisture (simply because the bearing seals are hidden further away from the road).

And we don't need jump-worthy axle strength in the Commander- 80lb EUCs were never meant for BMX. It's a long-range street wheel.

The Sherman is completely un-sealed also, so no real difference between the competitors here.

 

I've got a handful of big 'merican boys at my local, that ride Shermans but have to baby them when accelerating. Let the men have their torque!

I think the Commander spec is excellent; now I just hope the execution is no worse than Sherman (which was far from perfect).

Some Commander production news:
- They [EB/BG] is wrapping up the first 40x Commanders—kudos to them for getting a new release out the door first! 
- HT/C38 are first, with the HS/C30 expected to be complete next week
- Since we flew in 100x of the LiTech 900Wh packs, we'll be flying in the first round (all accounted for), sending out a demo HT on the US reviewer circuit
- BG are shifting all RS, EX.N, Commander production to knobby/CST-186 tires in an attempt to streamline production processes 
- CN is going to be shutting down next week on their 7 day October national holiday, nothing happens during these holidays
- Compounded with container shortages, 3 week delay at US ports, it's going to be a stretch to see any large scale arrivals of new models until possibly the new year, perhap a miracle will happen, but improbable...

Begode has an uncanny knack for getting everything wrong when it comes to marketing. To clean up some bad reputation, they changed their name from Gotway to Begode ... they changed half. Nowadays, if you buy a Begode, you find that "Gotway" appears in some parts of the wheel, while in others it says "Begode". But there is one thing that strikes me a lot: the new logo of the brand has gone from being a GW to a W, which I don't know what sense it makes, because the word Begode does not have any "W". In any case it remembers to "Gotway", that yes it has it.

"Exteme Bull" is one more episode of their absurd marketing. They present a wheel with the same motherboard and motor as Begode (that is, the fundamental parts of a wheel), while they want to convince us that it is a "completely independent" company. It's just a joke.

I think this topic should move to the Gotway / Begode specific brands section, and rename it Gotway / Begode & Extreme Bull.

The Begode logo actually says GW (for Gotway). Here's your "G":

For my local terrain, I prefer the K262 on Sherman: excellent for 50mi+ expeditions on dirt and gravel roads and pathways, with paved connections here and there. No jumps. (And usually not exceeding 35mph.)
