Nikola and Nikola Plus compared to 16X

Split from the 16X thread to clean it up. Feel free to discuss the Nikola, 16X, and which one is "better", here.

I tried the same hard acceleration and braking on my Nikola. I’m tipping over 200lbs, so quite a bit heavier than Kuji.  I could get the wheel to top speed (beeps at 30mph) in about 4.5 seconds and brake to a stop in just over 3 seconds.  I didn’t take the test all the way to faceplant but I had to be close to max and the wheel handled it perfectly well. Sorry, no video.

Brave move... Do you have a log of it? Interested to see how much amps the wheel use on such a move, and the generating force from breaking.

On Kujis video it isn't until the break starts that you start to see the issue. 

Now another thing is we don't know how many tries it took to do the promotion video, and how times it might have failed to keep up. 

So @Marty Backe how often do you ride any of your wheels like that, honestly....

Kuji also stated going uphill didn't provoke the issue to show. It is only on very hard acceleration followed by imitate hard breaking. 

It would be interesting to see how a Nikola holds up in same circumstances. You said it yourself that it had high amp spikes. 

Now another wheel that had a lot of hate/love about it the Z10. I don’t think that could do the Kuji acc/break test either. Nor do I think many would be able to perform such a move on it as breaking isn't really the Z10 to feature. 

But I think @mrelwood are 200% correct, mob goes into mass hysteria.

But like I said before if you recall @Marty Backe I am not on of the cool kids with a Nikola, but choose to get a KS16X instead. I cruise on my wheels I don't extreme tide them nor do I do tricks on them either. So on this matter I bring my coolness about this. I am very sure the KS16X will be just as good if not better than the Nikola. Give it a few months and this will be a huge storm in a glas of water that didn't matter anymore.

Really, you're continual espousal of the 16X being the best wheel has a religious fervor to it, considering you've never ridden one.

I say the Nikola is the best riding wheel made of all the wheels I've ridden (I've ridden most). I've always stated that I can't compare it to the 16X because I have not ridden a 16X. So indeed, maybe the 16X rides better than the Nikola. Or not. Eventually I'll be able to provide my opinion based on facts.

I will never sing the praises of a wheel that I've not extensively ridden.

Rode my Nik+ all last night, and though still early, it already feels next level, looking to be in my all-time top 5 wheels owned ever, of my now 18 wheel owner history across all makers (and I don't even like 16's usually).

The 16X is a solid wheel (outside of all the bobble stuff), better than I thought going in, but nowhere near my instantaneous, almost visceral reaction to this Nik+. Letting it rip on open straightaways is just unreal.

Which plus version did you get? I weight 145lbs and I'm debating whether the 1845wh version is worth it, given it being heavier, having the main board on the side and the noisier fan.

Hey, that's a Kingsong thread!  The only allowed question here is i. e., do I need a Nikola if I have a 16X and if so, which Version and for what kind of use it's better as the 16X?  (Except higher speed)

It could also be how you ride. @houseofjob can be quite aggressive. I don't know how you are riding your 16X and 84-volt Nikola. Are you riding them like you're being chased by the devil?

So the Nikola Plus is by definition the 100-volt 1845wh version

1845wh. FWIW relatively speaking , more battery cells can translate to more power/torque (or rather, less voltage sag across all cells), according to the DIY scooter guys. (Sorry @buell47 )

So confusing, i thought early on they were calling the 84V Nikola 2100wh "Plus", but I guess not.

I always considered the black, carbon Nikola the "Plus". So all Nikolas from now on will be "Plus". Or is it the 100V?

I think they are about the same. The 16x is slightly more maneuverable but not enough choose one over the other.  I do like  better padding the16x has.  Trolley handle is better and the speakers are better also.  But the Nikola  was much easier to unlock and get going. 10 times easier.  I would really say in my limited opinion that they are both very equal.
