  1. You only need the manufacturer app for the initial setup. You can uninstall it afterwards or just take all its permissions away (and give them back temporarily once a year when you use the official app). I don't know if Darknessbot can do the initial unlock. WheelLog or EUC World (Wheellog fork) is where it's at for Android for daily use.
  2. @Jean Dublin Good info. Wow what a disappointment this mod build is! You hope the (Chinese) sellers do what the (Chinese) manufacturers don't... and then you are reminded they're Chinese after all If you want a better built extra pack, get one from 1radwerkstatt.de. Costs extra, but maybe in the long term that's better. Looks like this 3108Wh 100V Monster build should be avoided. Too bad.
  3. Does it balance (keep itself upright)? Sounds very much like the behavior when it's locked. There's an unlock button on the main page of the Kingsong app. @The Fat Unicyclist
  4. Never a dull moment when selling electric unicycles, eh? Are the scooter manufacturers also that bad? How is this even possible (serious question)?! What was wrong with this batch of boards? How did they even manage to **** this up? That's an achievement on its own!!
  5. Scummy owners keeping tips for themselves is a common occurrence. So it's low wage (guaranteed) + tips (potentially stolen) versus higher wage (guaranteed) + smaller tips (potentially stolen).
  6. Does it balance when switched on? Did you "unlock" it? It has a transport lock so it won't accidentally switch on in the box.
  7. The Jason you mean is @Jason McNeil. I guess he knows best what your symptoms (unexplained tiltbacks) mean. Calibration is somewhere in the Inmotion app. I think it has a nice picture tutorial of what to do (put the wheel on its bumper and press the button). 170 lbs is nothing for a wheel like a V10. Maybe it really is just a slightly bad board (if changing the settings and calibrating doesn't work).
  8. @MR BRAD Disable tiltback (or maximize the speed) and see what happens then. Maybe something's wrong with your wheel? You could try if a calibration from the app changes anything. What's your weight? Are you so heavy that even a slight acceleration at low speed brings the wheel to its knees? Never hurts to ask ewheels. Also about your tiltback issue. Maybe your board is just bad. Did you ever do a range test or do you have some range vs battery % numbers? Just to check if that sounds ok.
  9. Don't give up. You're in an area with some group rides, join one and look what the others do (Also I added a location to the title, that's a requirement now.)
  10. Nobody asks for "no regulation". But the fact that they outright refuse to do any kind of reasonable legislation tells all one needs to know. A glaring disparity to fast-tracking things that are wanted by the political actors.
  11. 480p I just noticed the compression artifacts are worse than normal. Like the video has been encoded at low bitrate before it was uploaded. Anyways, I'm not an expert! The HDR is a good explanation for the colors, maybe a different workflow is needed for these drone's images compared to the standard GoPro/DJI videos. I just noticed right away that the images look like from a low color range filter and the red cars and people's jackets are often neon. I guess the Skydio people have some work to do in providing more natural colors and you have to work around this in the mean time. By the way, I'm continually impressed by how much better your editing and storytelling and logical structure is than so many others. Maybe it's because you don't go for clickbait/engagement instead of conveying information? Do you have a professional background helping you with this? You certainly have a talent there.
  12. Fantastic video as far as you are concerned! Short and to the point with all the good information. But the colors are totally oversaturated. Red looks like Neon. Is this the drone? Also I noticed the video compression is really bad and the electric unicycles are moving blocky messes of artifacts. Is this Youtube or the drone also?
  13. If the user can disable a speed limiter in any way, it wouldn't count as speed limiter according to the law anyways. So this plan wouldn't work. Also I'd NEVER buy a EUC that is limited for geographic/political reasons. Speaking to the manufacturers: let me break the stupid law or go fuck yourself. If a 1000€ device with no maintenance costs can go 50kph for 50km, who buys all the expensive cars? And then who gives cushy side gigs and money to the politicians?!? There's a ton of money in cars from a lot of angles, from taxes and insurance and space requirements (construction!) to every car-related industry. And they ALL pay off politicians in various ways. I still maintain the 45kph limit for light vehicles (like motor scooters etc., it's been there for 50+ years or so, nothing to do with electric ridables) has been specifically designed so they appear inferior to cars (50kph speed limit in the cities). Anyone who maintains that the legal limitations are there for good faith and for security considerations instead of self-selving politicians is a hopeless moron, in my opinion. Another example, why would someone need a car driver's license (including a ton of car driving lessons, costing thousands of €) to ride an ebike? Why is an ebike not allowed to go on bike paths? Because both is the case. You can't find any legitimate reasons to excuse this. The only reasonable explanation is that politicians sabotage car alternatives.
  14. Ouch Bob! You always have these horrific accidents under the radar From the photo I wouldn't have guessed you had a face unjury, so looks like everything is good again? How much miles on your Monster?
  15. We made new rules that include a location must be in the title. This is just an old post from before that (and the wheel is sold). Everything should be better from now on.
  16. Gotway is planning some kind of lighter commuter wheel to succeed (?) the Tesla. I guess that will be their next wheel release. (I don't believe anybody from Gotway reads this forum. Or anything English.)
  17. I'm going to say yes for the selfish reason that I want to see if a new board changes anything Also I don't see what else could cause such symptoms (like you describe) other than the oscillation bug being present in the Monster firmware in some way, too. Questions are: How do you make sure a new Monster board has different firmware? Why would they even change the Monster firmware if no problem is reported like with the MSX? So maybe... wait? No point in getting a new board if it's the same as the old board. But eventually I think you should replace the board. We need more info on what causes this kind of bug and if anything has been changed due to this
  18. Wow, I'm as envious as I'm happy for you to get such an awesome wheel
  19. Sweet! Regular or 1rad? If 1rad, please make photos of the batteries in the wheel
  20. Maybe instead of suspension (thinking springs and a complicated assembly and maintenance), one could have just squishy pedals with a soft, springy layer?
  21. The idea (for now) is to keep the requirements minimal (and therefore the moderation workload). We'll see how it goes and what else comes up. Added "app screenshot" to the ideas due to your input. Thanks! - Personally, I think Sale - KS16S - New York - $700 Sold - KS16S - New York - $700 looks visually too similar (especially if other posts have the same format). Titles like Looking for 16S in New York 16S $700 New York [Sold] 16S $700 New York are easier to parse, right?
  22. Thank you for the inspiration, it was overdue. A post with some rules has been added to the Private sales forum. This isn't 100% final, so if you have any suggestions or improvements, feel free to discuss that here.
