Popular Post Tawpie
KS's recent track record has been spotty for the first several batches (16x, S18), so I'm not exactly holding my breath. I'm sure it'll have warts aplenty, I'm hoping they'll fall into the "vexing" category.
Paradox
I fear the videos we see are of pre-production wheels that might have more robust parts or different assembly processes.
Funky
Can't wait when "guinea pigs" can test their s20 and weed out all problems faster. So future buyers of s20 can get decent product. <3 Sad how costumer is the "testers". And can't buy a 100% good product out of start. Companies should add a discount for these new euc, (First month, or so when released) as costumer is the "tester" xD

Yeah, in my country s20 is 2.800€ "pre order" I bet can be talked down to ~2.750€. My 18xl was 2000€ got it in store for 1850€.. There are no videos of long-range commuting, riding through a crowd, overtaking bikes in a city bike line, rapid breaking for red traffic lights or cars, taking it to a shop by the trolley handle... because this is what I personally do 80-90% of the time. Same, in city and and where i'm riding, there is no "Place" for wheels like this xD It would be awesome to have wheel like s20. But i would use only 40% what it offers.. And being 35kg in weight it's simply to heavy for "My" daily use/needs. It's more "Fun" wheel that you can take offroad etc.. Like motocross for real hobbyists, not for daily needs. Excluding the trolleying part, it’s obvious that any modern wheel will be more than enough for the task. As it wouldn’t exactly present the wheel as a bleeding edge top performer, there’s not much point making videos of it. Kind of like bed commercials aren’t footage of 8 hours of deep sleep. But the presented off-road performance is what already sets the S20 apart from others. 8 minutes ago, Funky said: But i would use only 40% what it offers.. I pay 10€ a month for Spotify, yet I only use it for less than 0.01% of what it offers. Don’t sell yourself short! If the 40% is worth the price for you, it’s simply a good buy. Although… 8 minutes ago, Funky said: And being 35kg in weight it's simply to heavy for "My" daily use/needs. … the weight is hard to ignore. It is a very heavy wheel. If it was lighter, I could even be joining the pre-orders as well. 8 minutes ago, Funky said: It's more "Fun" wheel that you can take offroad etc.. Popular Post MadVlad
As a person that has worked on lots of cars and motorcycles I can tell you that this is no different with EUCs than any other vehicle from any other company. Almost every vehicle ever made, yes Toyotas and Hondas included, has some sort of specific issues that were not discovered in testing and will need repair regardless of how you use the vehicle. The only real question is how bad those issues are, there is a huge price difference between your engine or transmission going out in under 50k miles, and say an oil leak from some easy to reach cover. The only real way to avoid those issues is to buy a generation that is well-established, if the same vehicle has been made for a decade, chances are the latest versions have most of those issues ironed out, but even that is not a fact. Now some of you will say "sure, but the dealer fixes that for me" ... yeah ... sometimes, sometimes they do their best not to while you have a 20-100+k dollar vehicle you cant use. Everyone talking about how so many EUCs have teething problems have likely never seen your average dealership repair schedule, brand new 60k dollar truck with an engine that went bye bye at 15k miles and will take months to replace ... with the same engine. So yeah, your brand new S20 may not be perfect, it may even have some issues from factory, but so long as it doesnt catch on fire or shut off on you at 30+ mph ... thats just how it is when you make a new vehicle every year. 9

Popular Post BecauseFun
Random observations from the riders and the video: Top heavy, Chunky on the top end $3200 @ Euco, prices go up after Chinese New Year Seated riding is good, very controllable Lift test: 55mph, likely a 40 to 45mph top speed Headlight looks great, much better than the Exn it was riding with. Felt smooth Can be overpowered fairly easily. But it's not a cut-off type overpowered, you can hear some clunking as the motor skips magnets. A couple of the riders said it was either pretty wide or would take some getting used to Suspension looks as good as you would expect. Tail light looks either blue or purple. Display show speed while in Motion in kilometers, shows battery level when stopped, not both at the same time. Stairs would have to be very tall to get in the way of the rear kickstand. (While going down stairs) ... All of this is more or less what I think I was expecting. At one point I think someone said there was a 12 mile an hour speed limit. Maybe that's for the first 50 miles or something. I don't know how a low speed limit would somehow cause the motor to skip magnets when asked for too much power, but maybe that's what was being experienced. Overall it looked solid and maneuverable for the size. My description of rider impressions and brief notes are from the video in which a few riders ride it around in the parking lot and they answer some more questions. For reference, the videos below are the unboxing before they bring it outside to the parking lot -- Edited February 2, 2022 by BecauseFun Added photo, added a short commentary, added links to unboxing videos 9 2
Popular Post pkinpdx
Speed limit is the first 10KM for every Kingsong. Its super annoying. I replaced a board on my s18 right before a group ride and was running a little late. Took off on my wheel to try to get to the start quick and realized my wheel thought it was brand new. I did some slow boring laps instead.
That Guy
I liked the first look. It feels like it is a “thought through” product. We are yet to see the riding experience and quality but details of the design encourage! :-)

This is what worries me as well. Nothing wrong with performance. But if the wheels are marketed through YouTube videos, then the companies have an incentive to make wheel for YouTube reviews mainly. We get wheels that are really good at climbing 45 degree slopes and going down stairs smoothly. Neither of these are important for normal user but they get wheels sold apparently. I get the argument for more overhead. But still, I'd like to see more tests for comfort and practicality. 2
Lilvodka
There should be a 1000 mile test before these wheels go. People like Ian shouldn’t have to do it. Someone with a preproduction will hopefully ride it extensively to reveal issues rather than demoing it. 1

Popular Post Grimm10
I really hope that the rear light can be changed from blue to red in a future software update. Tailights on a car are red and turn signals can either be red or amber...that's the LAW. I feel that eucs should follow the same rule as on the road, especially if we want acceptance with all commuters. 9
OldFartRides
I think it’s putting on a light show until braking, then turns red. Thought I saw that in the first vid.

Agree, when stopped it's fine to use any color as battery level or charging indicator (although there's already a LCD display showing the battery level in a coarse way). When rolling it should never be anything else than red for visibility in the night / intense red when braking. 5

An EUC meeting either EU or USA standards would make so many of us happy. The excuse of using an aftermarket bike light that just blinks is bullshit. We need lights that get VERY bright facing back and upwards when braking. 6
