  1. You mean the neoprene protective cover by roll.nz (EUC bodyguard)? https://www.roll.nz/int/27-store @Rehab1 did a silicone "condom" for a wheel once, but it was diy.
  2. New pictures of the Monster V3 by EcoDrift (Russian Original) All credit goes to @EcoDrift, they visited the Gotway factory! All black Translucent side pads Illuminated logo behind the side pad! Lift button More pictures in the link.
  3. Nikola Plus new pictures by EcoDrift (Russian Original) All credit goes to @EcoDrift, I'm just posting their stuff. All black with carbon and shiny logos. Board is on the side now. Board has a better Laptop-style fan/blower. Bigger battery versions (1845Wh 100V or I assume 2100Wh 84V) seem to use the old board space on top. Otherwise (1230Wh 100V, 1600Wh 84V) it's empty. I don't know whether "Nikola Plus" means the new 100V Nikola, or also the 84V all-black Nikola (if it exists). Here they just show the 100V. For more pictures click the link.
  4. YES!!! If you have glue (did you look?), it's only a question of time before the wheel fails you mid-ride! If you don't have glue, you still get a much better board. Did you buy from ewheels? Replace that old board quickly!
  5. What the F? They build that huge cavernous board space and then don't even use it?! And put the board where it should always have been? Two ways to explain this: They build the 1845Wh like this (extra battery on top) and then just kept doing it for all 100V Nikolas They just went crazy. Thanks for the pictures. The Nikola and all its variants sure is an interesting wheel to follow.
  6. @Smoother You realize this thread changes nothing? People could look up EUC/PEV legality if they cared before. Also half the information is vague or false. Even the supposedly "legal" areas aren't what they seem (I seem to remember a 15mph/25kph limit in California or something like this) and the "illegal" areas might actually be grey areas. Nobody is going to rely on *that* if they are out to get you. They'll just ask some local authority or ask a lawyer (lol at such people). Provided they knew your account name in the first place. Not sure what concrete scenario this thread suddenly allows that didn't exist before. Someone googles "electric ridable legality in X" and finds so much more information thanks to this thread than he could before? I don't see the point in your sudden paranoia. Maybe you have really nasty neigbors/locals or something Sorry - Also, a different topic, but the more people would have their "illegal" PEVs taken away in case of enforcement, the harder that would be to do. In my opinion, with politicians complete refusal to do anything reasonable (like blanket restrictions to 20kph that seem to be a sabotaging standard everywhere), the best way to advance PEVs is to break the law (if applicable) en masse. Shock doctrine! Enjoy the fact that your *censored for your protection* can do over 30kph. Lots of things you can't hear at that speed's wind noise. Or in other words, if you can't win by being nice, don't be nice in the first place. My opinion. I'm fully prepared to start retaliatory anti-car measures if something pisses me off too much (so many cars driving around with expired permits, you could get a few people and literally terrorize the local traffic. Which I'm going to do if I ever get in trouble with the police for my sweet EUC.)
  7. It disables the motor if you lift the wheel handle, and the handle is now metal instead of plastic. The rest is the same.
  8. Also there aren't so many types of tires used, so we just need to fill out the list: mten3 14x2.125 (standard tire for 14 inchers) 16x1.9 (V8 old) 16x2.125 (V8 new, all the older 16 inchers like Tesla, 16S, ACM, GT16, ...) 16x2.5 (Lhotz?) 16x3 (Nikola, 16X) 18x4.2 Z10 tire (actually 18 inches diameter) 18x2.5 (18XL, ms3) 18x3 resp. 19x3 (MSX) Monster tire
  9. @Marty Backe You are hereby impressed (as in impressment) to measure all your real tire diameters at the next opportunity As you say: a person measuring multiple wheels. If some people do that, in combination with other people's measurements, ultimately some ground truth should emerge. 1/4 inch is exact enough, so I'm not worried about people measuring wrong or being untrustworthy.
  10. Not sure exactly what you argue about here, but I'm with @Planemo. Of course it would be nice to monitor every individual cell, so you see if there are tiny differences that might develop into something bigger. (Also I split this into its own thread)
  11. This table is fantastic and sits right on my browser speed dial! Thank you for making and expanding it! Can you add the real tire diameters for each wheel/tire type? Because tire sizes are all over the place compared to what the manufacturers say - which is just what the marking on the tire says. But this is neither the rim nor the outer diameter. For example: Nikola/16X and Z10 have almost the same tire diameter. Not what you would expect looking at the specs! So the Z10 is confirmed at 18 inches real tire diameter.
  12. Yes! I almost started a thread about this 2 days ago. We need a listing of the actual tire diameters for every type of tire size. Maybe we can add it here:
  13. Well... at least it wasn't glue! Maybe this is just a very unlucky coincidence. I hope it's nothing with the Nikola itself. 2 steps forward, one step back...
  14. That bouncing really shouldn't be there. Could you make some videos that show it closer?
  15. They'll probably want to re-use their existing batteries instead of having a new assembly to deal with. Also to keep the price (and weight) down. The V8 is still the default <$€1000 wheel because they're the only ones doing any marketing. For more, there's the V10.
  16. It just looks old and worn and crappy. Or maybe melted. Like something was on there and this is the residue after it was pulled off. Hope it looks better in reality or gets replaced with something else.
  17. Very good report (and detective work)! Replacing the pack is the only safe option so it's good to hear that KS went with this right away.
  18. Hmm I think the carbon was a mistake. Matte black would have looked better. But the real culprit is the structure/pattern of the soft side pads. It ruins the entire look of an otherwise decent looking wheel The 16X would look much better with better side pads.
  19. Maybe it's just this: From another thread where a V8 stopped working. Apparently sometimes the IM wheels can freeze and you have to perform the equivalent of pulling the power cord and plugging it back in again to hard reset a frozen wheel. There are several Inmotion V10 disassembly videos on Youtube if you need to look how to get to the battery connector. Also ask your seller, this is the kind of thing a seller knows best.
  20. Maybe this EcoDrift disassembly helps: https://ecodrift.ru/2019/06/24/kingsong-ks-16x-disassembling/
  21. If it bounces so strongly with full tire pressure, check for a bent rim. This isn't normal at all.
  22. I guess it won't transition from the first (2 beeps) to the second alarm (3 beeps) if you only disable the second alarm. Not sure.
  23. @Patton250 Three beeps is the second alarm at 35kph/22mph. First alarm is 2 beeps. Disable both.
  24. Does the wheel beep twice when you send the command? Also disable tiltback, can't hurt.
  25. Disable it? "Disable 1st alarm". 1st alarm is 30kph (~20mph). Second is 35kph. Third cannot be disabled and the speed is battery- and wheel-dependent.
