Sucks to hear about the ones having issues.  I know it's an inconvenience but hopefully the sellers will make it right for Y'all.  I've been fortunate to have had no problems so far....fingers crossed.  But I am loving this wheel.  Perfect speed and nimbleness.  Took a ride or 2 to get used too from my V10 but everything I wanted in my next wheel.  So now the weather gets bad and little riding time.  I'm assuming battery for storage should be around 35-50%?  It's always a opinionated question for the group.  Pic of my short ride today!!!

For the very very, very very best results, store at precisely 41.346%.

If you accidentally let it go below that target, you really need to charge it to full, balance it, then ride it back down to the target state of charge. Repeat as necessary until you get it spot on.

Before you know it, spring will have sprung and your storage worries are over!

Recommended storage voltage for Lithium Ion batteries, ranges from 3.75 to 3.8 volts per cell, with 3.8 volts per cell being the more common recommended voltage. For 20 cell 84 volt pack, 76 volts. For 24 cell 100.8 volt pack, 91.2 volts.

I have regularly read nominal voltage (which is often 3.6v-3.7v) or about 50%. (Example)

The self discharge rate mentioned is way higher that what I have been observing though. My 18XLs Samsung 50E 20S pack discharged about 0.5V total in 9 months.

Low temperature is also beneficial:

I have not observed any extraordinary discharge on my V11s. 

But if your wheel is going into standby mode or isn't powered down (as in just laid on the side) then you have electronics draining power. 

Right now I am not by a wheel to check but I recall it as there is a setting for time to power down (might be it was KS only but still). 

I would test the forced power down by holding and pressing power button. 

I slightly recall also the pressing lift button while pressing power button had some hidden effect too. But since I am on sick leave due to loss of short term memory (burned out from work overload) I am not able to recall these things right now as I used to be able to.

They say the control board needs to be replaced, but they don't have any in stock and the wheel is so new I can't find any control boards for sale anywhere else. Also instead of me sending my wheel to them for fixing they are just going to send me a board( who knows when) and let me do the repair itself. This has been such a disappointing endeavor.

i heard its to assist placing the wheel on its stand by providing a little reverse torque.

Yeah I tried and it is weird to feel the motor engage when it technically should be off with the lift switch

Similar story here - First ride, 2 miles on a full charge. At full charge it my available mileage was 100 miles! Then after 2 miles at 93% charge, it reads 14 miles.  I made a post about it here, please leave a comment if you can (and checkout the V12 subreddit too!) :

Finally got my wheel! What an adventure. Fedex after delaying day after day for almost a week ended up delivering it to the wrong address. And the address they delivered to was on a ship yard with several businesses all sharing the same address. Called them all up and found my v12. Woohoo!

 

first impression coming from a 16s: holy shit this thing is HEAVY and HUGE.

went on a 10 meter ride to see if I could balance on it lol.

increased tire pressure and now it’s charging. I hope I don’t run into issues like others in the thread. Fingers crossed (and good luck to you guys that are hoping for some fixes)

Do I really charge it to 100%? I thought we aren’t supposed to really charge wheels above 80-90% or so.

Hey everyone! Just took my new V12 out for it's first ride today after a full charge last night, and wanted to share my impressions.

 

First some background : I bought an MSX 84V about 1.5 years ago as my first wheel, I also have an mten3 84v that I ride around for fun. I ride both wheels in "hard" mode. I've never owned or really used any other wheels. I don't consider myself an "aggressive" rider, I don't ride the beeps, and I usually stay around 25ish mph, sometimes touching 30mph for short bursts. I've ridden about 1k miles in total across my two wheels (not a ton compared to some  ). I also ride both my wheels almost completely stock, no power pads or "increased leverage" additions, only thing I swap are the pedals (and the tire on my mten, went tubeless).

Anyways onto my impressions about the V12!

Build Quality

TL;DR - Great build quality, feels solid, thoughtfully put together, and like it will last a long while.

So first off, this thing is H-E-A-V-Y, at least compared to my MSX. The V12 feels really solid and well built. While the MSX feels like it could be slapped together by someone in their garage, the V12 definitely feels like it's a "proper" production vehicle. It also has little nuances that you don't notice at first, like the integrated front bumper, the way the shell fits together perfect, the satisfying feel of the lift button and the handle catch/release, the integrated mud guard, etc. etc. Overall it just "feels" like it's more thoughtfully designed and put together (again compared to the MSX). Downside to this is I'm a bit more wary of scratching it compared to my MSX  

Ride Impressions

EUC Settings - Riding w/ the stock V12 tire @ 35 PSI (I'm 160lbs). Riding in "Off Road mode", 100% pedal sensitivity, split mode ("Speeding" 70% and "Braking" 50%)

TL;DR - Still getting used to it and dialing everything in, but overall really smooth. This thing can FLY, and has really nice smooth acceleration. Braking is plenty good, although my MSX definitely feels a bit more responsive in this regard if I'm to be critical.

So I've ridden ~20 miles on the V12 so far, mostly around 20-25mph, max I've taken it being just shy of 30mph. I would say it took me ~5-10 miles to get used to the feel of the wheel. Again it's much heavier than my MSX, and it took some getting used to moving around the extra weight, especially when turning. I'm definitely still getting completely comfortable with it, but I feel confident riding at my normal (~25mph) speed now.

One thing I noticed is that the "default" tilt of the wheel seems like it ever so slightly is tilting backwards, I've run the calibration twice and it still seems to "level" a few degrees off perfectly level. This could be in my head, or maybe I'm used to my MSX and it's slightly forward  who knows, either way I've found that setting the pedal tilt to 3-4 degrees in the app to be perfect for me (and I LOVE how easy that is to do, either on the touchscreen or in the app).

The V12 "wobbles" a bit more than my MSX, especially when going over bumpy roads, but it doesn't bother me, and I attribute it to the slightly smaller wheel (16" vs 18") as well as not being fully comfortable on it yet. Side note, the mten3 always wobbles a LOT, and I've gotten used to just kind of "going with the flow" riding with loose legs and letting it, so this may in part be why this doesn't bother me much. Also I'm still dialing in the PSI, currently I'm riding it a bit more inflated than my MSX usually is.

Further, the acceleration and braking on the V12 is smooth. I love that you can dial in the settings for each in split mode, and am enjoying finding that "sweet spot". The acceleration is really smooth, and there is plenty of torque (my MSX does indeed feel "torquier"/more responsive, but is definitely not as smooth), it feels like I could just push this thing for days (although to be completely fair, I've only touched 30mph  ). The braking is "good enough", and I don't have any problems with it personally. I do wish there was a bit more "oomph" behind it, like with my MSX, but it definitely doesn't feel unsafe, and I'm already used to it. It's also possible after becoming more comfortable and dialing in the settings more I'll find something I like better.

The Tire

Small sub-section dedicated to the tire. Overall I don't mind the tire, I'm sure after a couple more rides on it I'll be used to it. It does seem to "track" a bit, in that it likes to follow the lines / cracks in the road, however coming from the mten3 I'm used to that feeling. Also, I find that the stock V12 tire is... harder? Than my MSX tire, if that makes sense. It feels like the rubber is "stiffer" and I feel the bumps/road a bit more because of that. That being said, I also checked my MSX just now, and apparently I've been riding it at 20 PSI  (forgot to add air as the weather got colder) so maybe that's why it feels this way haha. Either way, felt like it was worth mentioning. I don't think I'll swap it for a new tire anytime soon but who knows, I've heard good things about the H-666 and might pick one up to try.

Misc. Additions

I've swapped out the stock pedals for the "Inmotion V11 Honeycomb Pedals" after my first 10 miles and they fit PERFECTLY. I personally much prefer the honeycomb pedals w/ the spikes/screws protruding, it feels "lighter" and the pedals feel a tad "softer" than stock, if that makes sense. The stock pedals are perfectly fine, and I'm sure I would have been happy with them as well.

The trolley handle is solid, much MUCH better than the trolley handle on the MSX (that thing is so sloppy it feels like I might snap it at any second heh). I like the secure "click" when putting it up and back down, and the height is perfect for me (I'm 5'11"). Took a little getting used to compared to the MSX handle, but works perfectly fine and I prefer the handle on the V12.

THE KICKSTAND, almost forgot about this. The kickstand is AMAZING, I didn't think it would be such a gamechanger but simply being able to rest my EUC back on itself rather than having to find something to lean it against, hope it doesn't fall, try not to scratch the side, etc. etc. is truly amazing, and I wish every EUC had it. In the grocery store it was wonderful not having to awkwardly hold the EUC between my legs or try to gingerly lean it against some shelves, just hoping it wouldn't knock anything over. Truly best feature 10/10.

Final Thoughts

Overall I am very happy with my purchase of the V12, it's everything I was hoping that it would be and a little bit more. The IPX5 rating means my mind is just that little bit more at ease when riding in the rain (I live in Seattle, so that can be pretty often haha), and the whole package just "feels" so polished, and worth the money. I'll probably sell my MSX in a few weeks once I'm fully comfortable/used to the V12, and just keep that and the mten, really the only two wheels I think I'll need for a good while. Now the weather just has to warm up a tad so I can go out for more rides and not have my hands fall off from the cold

Now I could be wrong but from my experience with the V10F Offroad mode gradually has more and more tilt back the more speed you gain which i think is what you are experiencing. Give commuter a try and I'm pretty sure it will feel much better

Ah good catch! I'll have to try Commuter mode out for sure, for some reason that didn't even cross my mind . There are so many other settings I've been tinkering around with I must have just glossed over it. I'm sure it'll be a good while before I find those "perfect" settings either way
