Paulo Mesquita
Quite true. I always say my father working with a, wooden triangle under his foot to stretch calf. Later in life I found myself doing the calves stretching on sidewalks or lunges to relieve my sciatica pains. Then, after 10 years of suffering daily... I rode my 1st EUC... and the pain is gone. Quite simply because on the EUC, bending forward almost all of the time, I'm stretching my calves.... 😊😊😊
Popular Post mrelwood
That is wonderful to hear! We keep hearing about people with physical troubles getting huge amounts of help from EUCs and other self-balancing vehicles. I myself am one of them. For me it started with the gentle lower back rubbing / exercising movement of the Airwheel A3, a seated 2 wheeled “Segway”, helping me with my chronically bad back caused by a connective tissue disorder from birth. I soon upgraded to EUC, and in three years my ability to do things in general, even walk, has increased about tenfold. EUCs are an addiction even for healthy people. Add a complete transformation in the quality of life, and you might begin to understand how incredibly important the lifestyle can become to some of us!
Popular Post Unventor
I can add in here too that I too found EUC riding helping me medically. I have psoriasis arthritis and the inflammation in my right knee has eaten the cartilage in the inside of the knee to the left leg, so in my right knee I get bone on bone movement when walking. Especially if the terrain is uneven. This has lead to osteoarthritis in the knee too. Also I have problem with rheumatic changes with the lower part of my back/spine. Before riding I were more or less glued to the bed or sofa. Now I can walk on even ground and I have regained a fair amount of movement. Due to my psoriasis rheumatic condition I can get inflammation in any joint of the body when getting a cold or flu. It trigger an overreaction in my immune system. So being able not to go on public transport also helps me not catching cold/flues. This is why I hope we don't get an EUC ban where I like. Also why I don't think pushing for higher speeds is wise as a one tire contact can only keep up with that amount of traction it has. I rather have a useful speed like a moped than a ban happening. A high speed moped is 45kmh in both Sweden and Denmark. That is fast enough for most things imo.

Popular Post Dreygun
Riding/ carving has helped ease the pain in my hip joints from doing flooring for past 24 years. Now that it's snow/ ice most days, it has creeped back, but I do try to sneak in a 20km or so quick ride in when I can safely and it helps
Popular Post Treatz
This issue is close to me. I'm at around 40k miles riding. I'm a daily rider with a wide assortment of wheels. This hobby has been my mental and physical therapy. I've had lower back issues that the chiropractor said "well, I can't fix you, but I can provide you relief." I'm a constant carver--my entire style is built around a non-stop carve/swivel motion. That means constant joint rotations and use of different muscles and so this starts to become a little bit like exercise. When carving on wheels like a Monster or a Z10 (and then everything in between) it's a constant variation of workouts because tire diameter and width totally change the work load and coronation demands of those joints and muscles. Also, machine weight adds a lot of dynamism. Going from a heavy and powerful sherman to a light and powerful HT MSP (or vice versa) is a little like doing some heavy reps and light reps on those muscle groups. One of the greatest additions for me is (free plug here): Clark pads. They've increased my enjoyment of EUC's by 20% and they allow me to engage even more intensely with the wheel and it makes a significant difference. One more thing I recommend: Trigger point release: Get yourself a lacrosse ball or 2 or 4, lay on a flat surface and get to work rolling on those things for some sweet sweet pain (that will diminish over time so stay with it). Now, I don't even need my chiropractor for relief. The combo of EUC's and trigger point has made a huge difference. Also, in the 3 years I've been riding, I've lost 30 lbs. I credit spending more time being outdoors riding around and then using those hours being as dynamically engaged on my wheel (via carving) as possible. I'll add too that it's been a rough few years for me personally with all the stuff (illness, grief, career b.s., personal betrayals). I credit this hobby with being a huge ally in my improved well being and I hope that many of you feel the same. I'm thankful for this hobby and special shout out (another free plug) to Jason/E-wheels. I know there are awesome providers in your part of the world, but I feel like I have a support team behind me in case any of my "therapists" need some repair. All of this has made me extremely grateful for the EUC life!
atdlzpae
Yes, that's what I like about EUC's and e-scooters - they are friendly to the back. Way friendlier than bicycles.

I think this is very much EUC related. It can inspire others to test out this despite being daunting at first. Overall I think the many stories of people having similar different issues that found EUC riding a huge life style change and quality of life improvement is breath of positive energy in today's negative news cover in general. As to @Paulo Mesquita thank you for reminding us of this. Personally I try to share EUC riding benafits to as many I can. I get questions almost every time I ride for a relaxing ride to grab a coffee and cake. It always triggers someone's interest. It isn't any problem but be prepared to the same 10 questions 😁 you will know soon enough.

All of this has made me extremely grateful for the EUC life! I fully agree. my life has been a rollercoaster and when I got on the EUC almost 3 weeks ago I never thought of how much of an impact it would have on this 61 year old set of bones, soul and emotions. I thank the stars the day, a couple of months ago, that I looked at YT video of a rider and felt the desire growing in me. I've never been a radical sports guy, on the contrary, but this feels just my 1st great personal freedom step...n many years! I say this with my 12 year old inner child soul: I'M HAVING SOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

You should pass on your experience.

Popular Post Carl Svanfelt
I was in a serious traffic accident a few years ago and had difficult fractures in my spine. The doctor banned all types of sports and I was not allowed to ride a bike either. So I started looking for alternatives to cycling. After watching some of @Marty Backe videos, I decided to buy my first EUC. The injury to the back remains. A miracle does not happen in my case. Or is it a miracle that I have now ordered my second unicycle, the Tesla V3. Edited February 18, 2021 by Carl Viktor

Yes, I was informed about this but I decided to take the long wait because we have such cold weather here now, -28 degrees Celsius -18.40 degrees fahrenheit. In such cold weather it is not so fun to ride in.

Ditto, EUCs have been a lifesaver for me during this intense pandemic. Riding has brought me just so much joy. When the weather was nicer I rode every day, at least 30 km (way more on weekends). Even now I try to go out on "warmer days" when the roads are dry. But the fact that it's also helped many with their physical injuries, that's pretty wild and so great to hear. I've also been losing a bit of weight with this exercise. A long ride feels very much like a day on the slopes doing downhill skiing (without the lineups for the chairlift). It's just so much fun to go and play outside, so important these days just to keep sane.

For me the V11 battery takes my moderately aggressively accelerating 110kg riding weight into 60km at +15•C, 50km @ 0•C, and 40km @ -15•C.

I must admit that I do not know this. To the Super Market I have only a few hundred meters and the wheel travels from warm storage to warm store. The best thing about the cold weather is that the friction on ice is much higher and the winter riding feels safer. At temperatures around zero in winter I do not ride at all.
Finn Bjerke
Very inspiring to read this. To me the suspension wheel (Inmotion V11) gives me nothing but pleasure and fun, but the Gotway MSX gave me lower back pain. The bumps gives less impact when you ride suspension wheel or a big wheeler however suspension is much better. THis video is very interesting: G force measuring 2 wheels:
Kekafuch
I think I am having lower back sciatic issues. 2 years ago, an episode happened and I could hardly get out of bed. Over time I notice it happens in Winter and Summer I am good. Now the episodes in Winter but I can still function. Just feel it coming and going if I sit too long on certain chairs. Using a tightening warming belt also help me lots. Amazingly, I can ride the wheel and I feel nothing. I can squat and touch the pavement while riding! I can ride for 2 hours often and not have issues. But then if I pick the wheel up and extend, I can feel it still can trigger. Weird.
