This is not a paid endorsement, not that it would be allowed anyway.  The bodyguard is the real deal and protects my wheel flawlessly.  Check them out at roll.nz

Great endorsement and Kevin will be pleased he doesn’t owe any money.:)

@The Fat Unicyclist I hope some of the ideas I shared with you is useful to develop your products to have more "hidden" features than just being a cover. It is much more than that.

I found the wheel (KS18L) to be more grippy and easier to control. And is soooo good balanced between being more grippy yet not glued on your legs.

It is going to be interesting to see what you come up with for the KS16X. And hopefully a EU dealer see the benafit of stocking the EUC bodyguard too.

Sometime I just wish someone would clone @Jason McNeil and export him to Europe. Legeal or not 😁

That overall demand as meant that we have had to reinvent our manufacturing process, which has resulted in the EUC Bodyguard (v2)... Literally this has just become available in the last week or two. And it is thanks to all of our supporters that has got us this far... Allowing us to offer an even better product at the same price, as well as also expanding (very soon) to include additional models and brands.

Is a EUC bodyguard v2 on the way? I just bought an 18L and was looking to purchase the bodyguard off ewheels.

Hi @Vince23heat.

Yes, eWheels already has the EUC Bodyguard v2 for the KS-18L/XL and now available in 4 colours too!

You can see the new stitching finish and colour options on eWheels website or if  you want a custom cover, then we can supply that directly...

I have an EUC bodyguard for my KS 18XL and god it was needed when I got the wheel.. i was new to EUC and def. took some falls and the bodyguard has my 18XL looking like brand new still. I take the bodyguard off occasionally to enjoy the wheels sleek look but put it back on for long rides. I cant say enough good things about them!

Thanks for the awesome feedback @ElectricRemi!!!

It's feedback like this that both humbles us and makes us so proud to be giving back to the EUC Community!

When will there custom 16x covers be ready. Sorry can't find other thread lol

Hey Stephen.

That really depends on what you mean by "custom"... If you want to add customisation to your Bodyguard, then we need to start a discussion about that. But if you are talking about the cusomised cover that you have ordered, then keep reading...

I checked with Chrissi and she said, "Doesn't he follow us on Instagram or Facebook?"

If you did, you may have noticed a blue back piece in the posts - this is actually one of the pieces destined for your EUC Bodyguard!

Which may be a bit of a giveaway to anyone else reading... So, yes. We have just received our first order of pieces back from the laser cutter, which means we just about to start assembly and then shipping!

And if that isn't enough to keep you happy, then I could also suggest that (based on the order of, um, orders) then yours might just possibly be shipping tomorrow...   :shock2:

Thanks for your reply @The Fat Unicyclist

I don't have no social media apart from this forum , that takes up enough time ( my girlfreind can confirm this 😬)

Ooh! I hope mines in the post:clap3::efeeec645d:

@The Fat Unicyclist, I've been meaning to post pics of my EUC bodyguard ever since I received it at the beginning of summer, but have hardly even been on the forum since then. I'm in the same boat as @ElectricRemi: I got my EUC B.G. once my wheel was all battered up :efee612b4b:

I'd been riding for 4 months when I bought the 18XL, or in other words, I was at a stage where my confidence exceeded my skills

Plus, an 18XL is a considerable upgrade from an IM V8, so I started doing much more (and more intense) off-roading, and MAN did they poor wheel take some nasty tumbles (trails & speeds that exceeded my skill level), so in my case, the bodyguard hasn't only meant my wheel is finally protected, but has involved a considerable aesthetic makeover. The images pretty much speak for themselves:

20190616-203539.jpg

(As smoother said, "Have you been using that thing to polish the streets?") :roflmao:

20190616-204534.jpg

If only I'd known about these when I bought the wheel, before multiple iterations of it sliding across the asphalt and tumbling down dirt trails...:cry2:

My impression, after using it for around 4 months, is that this thing is excellent quality--both in terms of materials and of design & craftmanship. All of the concerns I had before buying were clearly unfounded.

The neoprene is extremely durable. As Murphy's Law would have it, I haven't had nearly as many falls since putting on the EUC bodyguard, but it's endured a few bails on asphalt and a handful of tumbles on dirt trails, and aside from getting dusty, there are no visible signs of damage whatsoever on the sleeve (and thus, the wheel :D). Compare that to the cheap neoprene on my V8 cover...

            20191003-164455.jpg

The stitching and seams are also excellent. I can't envision having any issues with those any time soon (or at all...). The sleeve is extremely easy to put on (the system that keeps it in place is very straightforward & ingenious), it fits snugly and stays in place (it doesn't move around when gripping the wheel to accelerate, brake, etc.), the texture doesn't have a negative effect on grip (no slippage), the holes for the LEDs coincide to perfection, and it looks damn sexy too, if you ask me!

Aside from the physical protection, I've also found that it provides a great deal of peace of mind too: it's a nice feeling to be able to ride without as much concern about the wheel getting all scratched up. Granted, you can still bend a rim, break the trolley handle or a number of other scenarios where the sleeve can't protect the wheel from damage, but it's quite liberating not to get that feeling (unless it's a nasty bail involving tumbling, curbs or rolling down mountainsides :efee612b4b:) of mute horror as you rush towards your wheel after bailing, thinking "Oh crap, what have I done to my wheel this time?!"

And...I'd say I've covered pretty much everything. Overall, I find it to be an excellently built product than more than justifies the price. Before buying, I thought the price tag was a bit high ("That much for a neoprene wheel sleeve?"), but after several months' use--in view of the quality how well it protects the wheel--, not only would I not hesitate to buy again, but directly wouldn't use a new wheel without fitting one of these on from day 1. These are pricey machines we ride, and although well built, they do take their fair share of abuse, and new shells are much more expensive, so IMHO, the EUC bodyguard is worth every penny in terms of keeping the wheel safe from damage and looking pristine (where applicable :efefa6edcf:)

My only complaint is not having been informed of the existence of EUC bodyguards when I first bought the wheel! :efee612b4b:

For goodness sakes man, you don't know what you are missing...

Things like this for example...

Ha ha... It looks like someone out there ordered a 16X Bodyguard with black sides and blue edging...   :shock2:

Yeah I have to say, I wish I had one of those roll.nz bodyguards for my v8. The, inmotion one is slippery, covers the taillight and speaker, making it hard to hear the warnings at speed, and it covers all the side LEDs, too!

It also is kind of loose and moves around a lot., frequently partially covering the headlight, and isn't nearly as nice looking.  (I really like the look of the black and lime green one)

The inmotion cover is better than not having one though. My v8 still looks great.  One small drop at barely moving speed before I bought the cover, put some minor scuffs on one side.

Thanks for that feedback @Blueblade... Inmotion was lower on our list of potential wheels (due to the factory supplied covers), but it's good to know that there is interest out there.

Perhaps I'll push it up the list a bit... At least above the Airwheel X8 !   ;)

As this is the first batch, we will be photogrphing a number of Bodyguards for our website.. Which we will do at no extra charge to you. But it will give you something to watch while the real thing tracks it's way around the world to your 16X!   :D

Yes I'm sure you probably made the right business decision there especially because it would be a harder sale when there's a cheaper option already available. It's probably only the people active on this forum that really know what they are missing out on compared with a genuine TFU bodyguard!

One of those will be on the top of my list once I hopefully get that 16X for sure, along with the seat!

As far as Market opportunities for the V8 go, I would think a 20s 3p or 21700 based larger-capacity plug-and-play battery upgrade (say 640-720wh) for the V8 would be a better seller. Lots of people are happy with their V8 except wanting more range and/or battery safety margin, especially heavier riders.
