You and @Duf learning how to ride backwards made me want to try it also. I started last night in my garage as it was raining all day, the first 10 minutes were terrible couldn't get more than 2 metres backwards. I am so glad I haven't sold my ninebot one E+ cause it was the one I was using and boy it got some punishment. Looked at this video carefully and realised I wasn't leaning, so I tried again for the next 30 minutes now I am able to go backwards but still very shaky. My legs are still trying to figure out what muscles to use to be able to control my balance and speed. What I realised is you must lean and trust you legs to pull the EUC back going forwards or backwards. I tried again this morning and all of a sudden going backwards isn't so bad, so I am happy with my progress I am still all over the place and can't ride backwards in a straight line I guess it can only get better from here. Thanks for the inspiration in the videos, the human body is amazing as long as you keep trying you will get it sooner or later.

Besides entertainment I wanted to make my beginning to end videos to demonstrate what it takes (not much besides determination) to learn to ride backwards. So I'm glad some people have taken the gauntlet and started learning And yes, the human body & mind are amazing!
gotmotion2016
Very good progress with backwords riding. And even stand up from still to riding backwords. It's rewarding and amazing the body and mind can teach this. Even if you see Abram, and look old(er), you can learn this. But eh, man will be kids in some ways?! There were a few minor injuries (dislocated shoulder, cuts, scrapes), but it could have been so much worse if one of the people had been crushed between the boat and a piling. Your video got some good traction - I just saw it on CNN's front page

Popular Post Ombre
Here's a video from last weekend's group ride through Mesa and Tempe, Arizona. @dbfrese @Clovis @Playarider and @Ombre participated (along with my daughter for the first section). It's a long-ish video but I think you'll like it. We had a lot of laughs, fantastic weather, and beautiful scenery. A couple parts of the video show us riding the Valley Metro Light Rail to hop from downtown to downtown, and you can see how much sense EUCs make in that kind of situation.

This was literally her fifth day of riding. Amazing how fast she picked it up. I made myself wait four months before I upgraded from that Airwheel X3 to an Inmotion V5F. This ride alone made it worth every penny, so I can heartily recommend making the upgrade as soon as you can!

Enjoyable ride - hey, did I hear someone mention my name As summer approaches for the Phoenix area I bet you need to plan these rides for early morning or late afternoon. How much charging can you really get done during a 'recharge break'? My wheels take from 8 to 20 hours to recharge so I figure it wouldn't be worthwhile to carry a charger around with me. On the other hand it's nice that there are outlets that you can freely plug into.
Popular Post Ombre
We're planning another ride in early May and that one will definitely need to start early. Phoenix will be approaching 100 degrees in the afternoons by then. You'll see the invitation in the Local Rides section later today. On our recharge break, we stopped for about 30-40 minutes. My InMotion V5F had a "rapid" charger (2.5 amp) and went from about 35% indicated to 80%. That was much more than I needed to complete the ride. @Playarider's Ninebot One E+ picked up about the same, I think, but he can confirm. @dbfrese had a spare battery pack (!) and simply made a swap. @Clovis had a huge KS18 that didn't need recharging all day. Playarider had previously scoped out the charging opportunities. One, a friendly restaurant in Tempe, was closed. All the power boxes at Tempe Town Lake were de-energized. That left the pavilions at Papago Park. He taught us the importance of carrying a splitter, since there was only one available outlet. That item is getting added to my "long trip" gear bag.

I believe that was us talking about your backward riding progress (or maybe your CA trail riding). We all informally agreed to be riding backwards at our next meet. I don't know how successful I'll be, but I think @Playarider can currently ride a few feet backwards. We'll see...

On our last 36 mile ride through the hills of Castro Valley, CA, we needed to charge part way through. The hills were some of the most demanding I've ridden, and I've ridden a LOT of hills. We went to the Space Center for lunch and they denied us outlets because they did not understand our tech. HUH? Anyways, we ended up eating at a Round Table in an older building. A few of us also carry splitters, and we had 6 or 7 wheels plugged in charging when all of a sudden, the lights went out! Oops! One of our gang asked if he could go in the back and reset the breaker and they allowed him to. We turned off the large screen TV and lights in our section, and were able to complete our charges. In an hour or so of eating, we get pretty good refills, about 90% or so. We have a couple 5A fast chargers for these times, including one Satiator Charger. The 5A makes all the difference. Unfortunately most of my long distance rides are away from civilization so that's not an option for me.

Should only take a year of sunshiny days to charge.
