Paul A
The fund for Joel Dort, Hawaii rider was transparent. Go Fund me had a target amount. The running total was displayed. Individual appeal for funds is not transparent. Direct funds via Western Union, a bank account etc. Is the appeal cancelled once enough funds has been reached to replace EUC? Or does it just continue? Is it an opportunistic scam? Is it genuine?

Paul A
Revealed: Why Russia’s Fears The Javelin Anti-Tank Missile 15,632 views Mar 7, 2022 U.S. Military Technology 535K subscribers The Javelin is a one-shot, man-portable, fire and forget 'fire and forget' anti-tank weapon system. It's designed to destroy tanks by direct attack. It's the only missile in the world to be equipped with a dual-mode detector seeker that can lock onto both tanks and helicopters. The Javelin is the most advanced Anti-Tank Weapon in the world. It's precision-guided and can be fired from over two miles away. It's a missile so there's no explosive charge, just the missile itself, which is designed to fly into the target at high speed and destroy it by means of its kinetic energy. 1

Triggered me... such nonsense... those damn robot-narrator youtube clickbait channels... The word "missile" originally described a projectile that does not need to hit its target to destroy it, because it's explosive in nature. Like: be 20ft alongside an aircraft and blow up, peppering it with shrapnel. The alternative is a "hit-ile" - a buzzword that never caught on. Bullets, etc. These words began in a time before modern inventions like electronically-fused artillery shells, so the lines have become blurred over the years. Today, "missile" has become a blanket word for any guided munition that contains its own propulsion system. Anyway, the Javelin missile contains an explosive warhead. And youtube robots are evil /tangent
Paul A
Yes, the Javelin missile has an explosive warhead. Not sure why the YouTube channel had described it as having no explosive charge in the video description. With the advent of shoulder launch anti tank and anti aircraft, fire and forget technology, the infantry are lethal. Cheap and effective, accurate, lethal. Paul A
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/03/09/ukraine-intentional-flooding/ Photographs from Planet Labs PBC, an American firm, and other researchers appear to show a large expanse of flooded land north of Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. In a pair of before and after images, taken on Feb. 22 and Feb. 28, the swath of territory becomes significantly more sodden. “When you’re defending, you’re trying to use what you have,” said Marta Kepe, a senior defense analyst at the Rand Corp. If it is intentional, Kepe added, “that may be what Ukrainians are trying to do — use water to prevent Russian forces from getting close to Kyiv.” 1

Paul A
https://news.yahoo.com/russian-military-being-hacked-after-its-own-soldiers-destroy-3-g-internet-towers-104303881.html March 8, 2022 'Idiots': Russian military phone calls hacked after own soldiers destroy 3G towers Russian forces in Ukraine have been ‘hacked’ after abandoning their own secure encrypted phone system, according to investigative journalism organisation Bellingcat. The switch to insecure messaging meant that a conversation revealing the death of Major General Vitaly Gerasimov - chief of staff of the 41st Army - was able to be intercepted by Ukrainian intelligence. Russian soldiers have switched off their encrypted phone system after towers were destroyed and are using normal phones with local sim cards, according to Bellingcat, an open-source investigative journalism organisation. Bellingcat’s executive director, Christo Grozev, said in a series of Tweets: ‘The idiots tried to use the Era cryptophones in Kharkiv, after destroying many 3g cell towers and also replacing others with stingrays. Era needs 3g/4g to communicate.’ ‘In the phone call in which the FSB officer assigned to the 41st Army reports the death to his boss in Tula, he says they've lost all secure communications. Thus the phone call using a local sim card. Thus the intercept.’ British intelligence company Shadowbreak claimed to have intercepted messages which showed that Russian troops were demoralised and had ‘deliberately punched holes’ in vehicle fuel tanks to avoid reaching the front line, the Telegraph reported. ___________________________________________ Bellingcat is a Netherlands-based investigative journalism group that specializes in fact-checking and open-source intelligence. It was founded by British journalist and former blogger Eliot Higgins in July 2014 ____________________________________________ A little mystified why this information about interception of military communications has been made public, and alerting the Russians.

Paul A
https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3426477-invaders-realize-they-cant-grab-kyiv-intercepts-prove.html 11.03.2022 Invaders realize they can’t grab Kyiv, intercepts prove The Russian invaders understand that they cannot seize Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. That’s according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukrinform reports. "Russia’s blitzkrieg has failed: the enemies realize they can’t capture Kyiv. Despite all the propaganda rhetoric, the main wish of Putin's occupiers is to survive and get rotated out of Ukraine, to never return," the SBU said. This conclusion can be drawn from communications, intercepted by the SBU, involving enemy forces that had been trying to advance toward Kyiv through a nearby settlement of Borodianka. "We’re short on manpower. Many from our unit, from our battalion were killed, many were wounded. But there’s good news, too: we will be rotated to Belarus soon and will just wait there. I hope we’ll be sent home," one of the Russian soldiers told his wife over the phone.
