Zaporizhzhia NPP disaster may be 10 times larger than Chornobyl – Kuleba

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has urged Russia to immediately stop shelling  Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and allow firefighters to eliminate the consequences of the attacks, otherwise the continent will face a major disaster.

Intelligence official claims Russia plans to stage public executions in Ukraine

Russia plans to stage public executions claims a European intelligence official

An anonymous European intelligence official claims to have seen documents from Russia’s Federal Security Service. These documents allegedly state that the Russians plan to stage public executions in captured Ukrainian cities. This would be done as a morale-breaking exercise according to the report by Bloomberg.

Kitty Donaldson, Bloomberg’s political editor, also claimed that, ‘The agency is also planning violent crowd control, and repressive detention of protest organisers, in order to break Ukrainian morale”.

Russian invaders continue to shell Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and have already hit one of power units.

As a result of shelling, Zaporizhzhia NPP is now on fire.

Here we go boy's/gall's. Let's destroy NPP <3 and We will save our bothers/sisters. <3 We will free them (literally: mind and soul.)

Can we get Chernobyl 2.0 please. Easy swift win over whole country. No need to bomb/rocket the country. Simply destroy NPP.

Why do we need governments anyways.. Regular working "Joe" can give 2 shit's about politics. About their "rules" About everything they say/do.

But when president goes bat-shit-crazy. We whole society have to pay...

At this point there are some serious competency concerns with regards to the Russians. If they're going to accidentally get everyone killed anyway.. then their nuclear deterrent is now without teeth and the EU, UK, NATO and/or the US may as well join the war and we'll get this over and done with right quick.

Hopefully motive for the Russians attacking the nuclear power plant, is to control/disable/deny, electricity to Ukraine.

Not to create another Chernobyl meltdown.

The Zaporizhahia nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe, supplying about one quarter of Ukraine's electricity.

Russia blames attack at nuclear power station on Ukrainian saboteurs

MOSCOW, March 4 (Reuters) - Russia's defence ministry on Friday blamed an attack at the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine on Ukrainian saboteurs, calling it a "monstrous provocation".

Ukraine has said Russian forces attacked the plant in the early hours of Friday, setting an adjacent five-storey training facility on fire, in an incident that provoked international condemnation of Moscow, eight days into its invasion of Ukraine.

Reuters could not independently verify either the Russian or the Ukrainian account of the incident.

The account was diametrically opposed to Ukraine's version of events.

Earlier, a video from the plant verified by Reuters showed a building aflame, and a volley of incoming shells, before a large incandescent ball lit up the sky, exploding beside a car park and sending smoke billowing across the compound.

Putin wants ‘normalization’ of global relations, saying there is ‘no need’ for sanctions on Russia

MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday called for the “normalization” of relations with other states, saying that Moscow had “absolutely no ill intentions with regard to our neighbors.”

Speaking via video link at a ceremony raising the Russian flag on a Kaliningrad ferry, Putin called for global coordination at a time when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its second week.

“I think that everyone should think about normalizing relations and cooperating normally,” he said.

He said Russia saw no need to aggravate tensions with other countries, claiming that Moscow’s actions in Ukraine only came “in response to unfriendly actions toward Russia.”

“We have no bad intentions. There is no need to escalate the situation, impose restrictions. We fulfill all obligations,” he said. “If someone does not want to cooperate with us within the framework of single cooperation, and by doing so harms themselves, they will, of course, harm us too.”

Small dog, big dog.

Reminiscent of the kitchen debate between Nixon and Khrushchev.

IN THE summer of 1959, Sokolniki Park in Moscow played host to a glitzy exhibition showcasing the shiniest of American capitalism. It was supposed to be part of a cultural exchange programme. But on the opening day, the only things being swapped were thinly veiled barbs.

As Vice-President Richard Nixon and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev shuffled past gleaming cars and model kitchens featuring dishwashers and TV dinners, they couldn’t help themselves. Nixon bragged about higher standards of living in the US. Khrushchev pointed out that the average American couldn’t afford any of this stuff and, besides, the average Soviet citizen would have it all before long. Then he made a promise: “When we catch you up, we will wave to you as we pass you by.”

I found some analysis from outside the sort of 'approved' messaging that is making me think a lot.

https://patrickarmstrong.ca/2022/03/04/russia-ukraine-2/

Very different take than what I'm reading in the news, touching on some big ideas. Please don't read this if you will have a negative emotional reaction to someone saying Putin and Russia are not insane. Also, don't think that just because I shared an article I agree with it. I'm not a geopolitical scholar and don't have set opinions about any of this stuff.

If you want to follow this war, here is what I'm looking at:

Any other useful sources you know?

Anyways, further good luck and good fight (sounds stupid to say this, but what else can they do) to the people of Ukraine.

Is there any reason in particular that affords the article credibility?

I flipped a coin. It came up good. Yup, MY fact checking style is 50% accurate and better than most. Why, because the coins arent biased and 50% is pretty good for politics...

An opinion article published by the Political and International Editor of a major, mainstream, national newspaper.

The author's position/reputation/credibility has been achieved through merit and recognition by peers.

The author is not a person with a webpage.

Yes please do whatever needed to ensure your safety. We deeply appreciate your answers here but it is not worth 15 years of prison.

Easy fix: clean up everything self incriminating here, and if you wish use one/several completely unrelated throw-away account(s) to continue being able to express yourself freely.

Just amazes me... Only thing fake here is putin. What's the point having "news" & "media" if they can't tell truth and so on..

I'm so sorry for you, to have so dimwitted government. :(

Have you thought leaving Russia by any chance? Just asking.
