  1. You do like your flame war bait thread titles, don't you? Looking forward to what you find out.
  2. So it was a hardware failure cut-out. Get a new board. Probably impossible to find out what caused the crash. But you can have a good look at your old board, maybe you see something.
  3. Are you ok? From the beep code list. That doesn't mean the voltage really is low, maybe the board just got damaged or something else. Can you charge the wheel? But be extremely careful, I'd be worried about a fire starting with a possibly mechanically damaged battery. So check that the battery packs look good first and you see no other damage anywhere, too. You can also use a multimeter on the charge port to get an idea of the battery voltage (careful, don't short the port by connecting the pins). Maybe the beeps are also just the fallen over alarm and that might mean the board is damaged? Never hurts to ask your seller as well.
  4. Price went from to "just like the DJIs" in one generation... nice!
  5. Have you considered the Nikola? Everyone raves about it and says it's generally better than the MSX. But all the wheels you mention are great.
  6. One 18650 cell is about 50g. There's 48 in a 100V 615Wh pack, plus BMS and packaging etc. So about 2.5kg (5.5lbs) for a standard Gotway 615Wh pack. 21700 packs in 100V come in multiples of 444Wh ("450Wh"). Your battery size doesn't match that. 18650 packs in 100V are in multiples of 306Wh (615Wh is twice that, and two or three 615Wh packs give 1230Wh or 1845Wh). So you have 18650s [Math: 24 cells in series * 3.7V nominal * 5000mAh capacity per 21700 cell = 444Wh. 24 * 3.7V * 3450mAh = 306Wh.] As always, theory with EUCs is never as good as it should be, so just weigh your wheels or battery packs
  7. Glorious weather today, possibly the last warm day of the year. Nicely framed view while going through a patch of forest. I've been told you can see that it's autumn from the deep blue sky color. And of course from the tree leaves and the fact that supposedly we will get negative °C the coming nights. Wonderful mossy greens. Wish my phone took better pictures. Route goes between cornfields... Views
  8. Maybe so they can "reduce" prices for Black Friday or some other promotion event.
  9. Yep, just unplug and remove the pack. Would be a shame though... And make sure the unused pack has the same voltage before you reconnect it again.
  10. I recommend you do something. Either contact ewheels right away or open the right side panel and check the board is firm on the shell. Waiting to "see what happens" is a bad idea with EUCs and the problem won't go away on its own anyways, no matter how nice that would be. I know dealing with a wheel issue is highly off-putting (especially with a brand new wheel!) and easy to delay and procrastinate over. But the sooner you go through this, the faster the good times start (and they're good)
  11. Wow, Green and Fashion really has fallen from grace. Blatant lies. Buyer feedback (on this forum) also isn't exactly good recently.
  12. Is there a notable difference with less weight on top than the 1845Wh Nik?
  13. From Facebook it looks like @Afeez Kay just got a 100V Nikola with 21700s! https://www.facebook.com/Afeez.trymyev/posts/1015789525419128 @Afeez Kay Battery size? Can you make pictures of the internals and battery packs?
  14. Vibration can be the board not sitting firmly in the shell and moving slightly against it. Make sure the board and heatsink each are absolutely firmly in place. Just check that all respective screws are tight (but don't overtighten). Also make sure the "big" screws holding the plastic shell on the metal pedal hangers are tight so the shell doesn't slightly move against them. The board is behind the right side panel and the "big" screws are behind the side panels, too. The idea is: if the board moves against the motor/pedal bracket/pedal assembly (either because the board is loose in the shell or the shell is loose on the motor), that makes the board move and therefore the wheel react even if it is standing still. That's where the vibration can come from. (No comment about this happening with a factory new wheel... if the vibration doesn't go away after the easy step of checking some screws, contact your seller.) Also please update your profile with the new wheel
  15. It's likely that an 21700 1800Wh (1776Wh exact) 100V Nikola is easy to build with only two standard "block" battery packs in the usual designated spots (if the bigger cells really do fit like the old ones). It would be the 100V 21700 equivalent of the 18650 84V 1600Wh which just has a standard battery pack on each side, nothing special or complicated. I say the chances are good because it's (most likely) easy and obvious to do this
  16. @EcoDrift says it's 7 speakers and they tend to have more technical chops than ewheels: https://ecodrift.ru/2019/06/24/kingsong-ks-16x-disassembling/ Here's how I interpreted their article. But I don't have a 16X so... 3 is the speaker you see and posted a detail photo of, 4 is the bass speaker behind the rear grate (not visible from the side). The standard white warning beeper doesn't count as "speaker".
  17. 3 on each side plus the subwoofer (if you can call it that... bass speaker or whatever) behind the grate on the back. Isn't that the configuration?
  18. That would be a 1776Wh (aka "1800" Wh) 100V Nikola built just like the 1600Wh 84V now. If the bigger battery pack fits in the designated space. Not sure how this is supposed to work.
  19. The 21700 equivalent of the standard 1845Wh 100V Monster would be a 2664Wh 100V Monster. Good enough? For the 3108Wh they definitely need to cram batteries everywhere, but this slightly smaller capacity should fit the existing battery spaces nicely with 3 simple packs (just less wasted space than with the current 100V packs).
  20. Hmmm... less packaging material for bigger cells? I'm also curious how everything will fit. The Gotway battery spaces are tight, not sure how they can get 1cm wider battery packs (5mm per cell with 2 cells next to each other) in there. Maybe it's a completely different physical layout and happens to work out better?
  21. This is new information. I guess the 100V Nikola and the 16X speed throttling issues really drove it home. Before that we had the MSX (which is rock-solid and awesome) and the 18XL which seemed very fine, too.
  22. I'm starting to suspect the Nikola 100V is the fastest wheel (We have no official info on the speed beep limits for the Nikola) You can easily and safely test its 5 beep speed. Charge to 100%, lift the wheel (probably between the legs, because it's HEAVY), and carefully tilt it to slowly and controlledly speed the wheel up. You can have very fine control like this and speed it up in 1 kph increments. Just look at the app while you're doing it and see when the 5 beeps appear. And please inform us of the result
  23. 21700s are the only thing that makes sense. The 2460Wh 18650 Monster mod is already packed to the brim with cells, I don't see how you could add even more. So this is the equivalent 21700 mod. Looks like the official 21700 Gotways are close! Exciting!
  24. Facebook or some chat app (I have no number) then. You can always start a new thread here: How to contact Gotway? @EUC GUY has some good connections, maybe he can help.
  25. You guys need to be reported to WPS (Wheel Protective Services) for wheel abuse Some people in uniforms must come and perform a wheelfare check or something. The ACM doesn't deserve this (even if you have two and a ton of other wheels)...
