[SOLVED] Begode selling Master "LiTech" packs: we have a problem

@tk463 I would also prefer 40T cells for my S22 but I'm afraid it's out of scope for now, as this effort is focused on LiTech packs for Begode wheels.
One thing after another tho! 😁
Hopefully more things will become possible when small distributors group up into a bigger entity with a strong voice together.

No problem supercurio, and great job publicly clearing the air with regard to the aforementioned manufacturing lies claims. Speaking in generalities for a moment, I think some people in this thread, and even more broadly in society, tend to want to ascribe their own standards and cultural norms to others' which often isn't consistent with reality. Worse, many prefer to persist in this perspective, even in the face of repeated and easily observable evidence, rather than acknowledge and accept that things "over there" are fundamentally different for a lot of different reasons. You could also say this about a lot of stuff going on "over here" too... Anyway.

You're exactly spot on in your advisement. It's the first thing I plan to do when I get back to home base (as well as "bake out" any potential moisture after unwrapping). I've been speaking with eWheels and they've graciously agreed to sell me right-sized replacement heat-shrink as well as access to talk to a tech for any tips when I can do this repair. I'll be sure to make a thread about it and hopefully document it better for the forum. I'm interested to see how well my parallel cell groups have maintained balance too...

In the meantime, I'm crossing my fingers nothing goes wrong.

Given ECODRIFT teardown of the current Begode construction I don't see much advantage to ordering a LiTech pack myself. The Litech packs are moving to 16S FROM 8S. Theoretically this could keep the wheel from having a cutout if one pack has a failure. This is if the charge/merge battery board up top has logical to isolate one bank of batteries from the failed bank of batteries.

@BleepBloopBlop it will be hard to tell what difference and benefits are between both solutions form pictures and basic specs.
There was no real attempt to promote them or to release more details aside from a general progress update from eWheels, with a picture of the BMS: too early IMO.

This response by Alien Rides really rubs me the wrong way. eWheels isn't the bad guy here, Begode is. eWheels identified a problem Begode was unwilling to address, and at *eWheels' own great expense* (over US$1m) they secured a resolution/improvement. Meanwhile all Alien Rides did during this time was continue selling the original, dangerous Begode wheels unmodified, hoping maybe it would eventually be fixed by somebody else.

I can understand/sympathize that Alien Rides was misled by Begode, but then they should be throwing Begode under the bus, not calling out a market competitor by name who has done nothing wrong as if they're the source of the problem in this case. Very scummy.

This doesn't read to me as throwing ewheels under the bus. And they can hardly write "Begode tried to scam us", who would buy a Begode from them then. I think it's an ok response. Not much better than ok, but ok. What's a dealer to do who just has been f'ed by BG's false promises.

Are original Begode wheels “dangerous” in this unmodified context (the Master)? Trying to discern facts from opinions. No argument about the sharp practice by the manufacturer (cultural business practices being somewhat different to others), but rather more focused on the basic real world safety of the Master wheel. Any evidence would be welcome, especially since the competitor products have also been found somewhat wanting.

Alien Rides has actually informed people that if they want LiTech batteries, then purchase a wheel from eWheels.

Alien Rides might actually be helping people by naming eWheels.  It lets people know who/where exactly to purchase it from.

Alien Rides could have just stated that LiTech batteries were no longer available, without offering any explanation.

I would say "No". This thread really isn't about the benefits of Begode vs. LiTech packs (but about Begode's lie attempt). But it's not like standard Begode wheels are blowing up left and right. There was a time (which is over, I think, they switched battery cells) where there was an accumulation of fires, so it's more a lack of trust and the general uncertainty from that than bothers people. Given that ewheels had a a Begode EUC burning in their container full of wheels, it is understandable that they were extra bothered, so they went in search for alternative battery pack suppliers with more certainty and found one in LiTech. Are normal Begode wheels dangerous? No. Does anybody know exactly how safe the current battery packs are? No, too. So far, everything seems to be good though.

eWheels determined that Begode's assembly was so bad that they stopped selling new Begode wheels for an entire year while they worked out the LiTech arrangement. When you consider both the cost to do this (which eWheels claims was over $1m) and how much money they left on the table by not selling a string of new Begode releases during that year, I think it's a pretty damning indictment. The only wildcard in this instance is that we don't know enough about the Master to definitively say how it will compare to that existing track record.
