Tawpie
@enaon! My bangle2.js from Gordon's kickstarter just got delivered and is charged. The About screen says it's powered by Espruino version 2v10.219. I sort of assumed that means I don't have to go through the reflashing Espruino, but now I'm not certain because: I can pair with the watch from a Moto G7 Play (Android 10) and a Pixel6 (Android 12). Only 1 was connected at a time, the other was powered off during the install to prevent multiple device connections. With the Play, I was able to install 31/31 apps... sort of. I got the green banner that said the apps were installed followed by a red banner "Install failed: undefined" So I tapped the "Disconnect" button, the watch stays on a Bangle.js splash screen (not the animated one that transitions to the tutorial app). Long press rebooting the watch comes back to the Bangle.js splash screen with the addition of "Checking storage..." and "Storage ok." But it's stuck there and no amount of rebooting the watch gets it past the splash screen (since all standard apps were erased, this isn't much of a surprise) Multiple tries ended up with one of the install attempts failing part way through, this was sufficient so that the next reboot of the watch discovered the storage was corrupted and it reinstalled itself and is now working as a Bangle. I'm guessing it'd be worth while not doing anything more until you get yours... the shipments to EU are stuck in a snafu with customs from what I read. Good luck with the customs problem, I hope it's easy to resolve. Thanks for your work on this! Edited November 16, 2021 by Tawpie

When I get mine I will port the project for this hardware, and also port parts of the project so as they can be used with the official Bangle.js app loader, along with other banlgejs apps. this will be ready by Christmas time I guess, for now you can play with the official Bangle.js loader.

Popular Post RagingGrandpa
My setup experience today: Quote I got a P22B from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174866133264 I followed the instructions here: https://enaon.github.io/eucWatch/tools/hackme/ I used an LG V50 smartphone with Android 10. I used airplane mode (to prevent interference from calls), restarted my phone, and manually enabled bluetooth. I'm paranoid about receiving a call during a sensitive update like Step 1. Step 1 worked on the first attempt. Step 2 did not work the first 5 attempts: "GATT ERROR" I exited airplane mode to allow wifi and mobile data. Step 2 did not work the next attempt. I used the 'back' gesture in daFlasher, then selected the watch again, then "Do DFU Update" again. Then while waiting on this screen (without selecting a file) the flash process started after 5 seconds of inactivity. Step 3 worked in a similar way: backing up to the entry screen in daFlasher, then back into DFU update, seemed to help after multiple failures. Step 4 worked the first attempt. (next) the eucWatch loader found the P22 but failed to connect once; then worked on the second attempt. Everything seems to work. Bridge mode is cool. Reference media here. But I'm reluctant to recommend it to friends until a simple UI manual is available... else I'll be on the hook for endless questions Can the watch be commanded to shut down, for longer-term storage between rides? Thx! Edited December 7, 2021 by RagingGrandpa

Along with this I have added the option for text on all buttons and made it simpler. I think that unless someone really likes the p22/p8 form factor, one should wait till Christmas time if he wants a watch. By that time a how-to for Magic and Rock will be ready, and next version will be up. Edited December 7, 2021 by enaon
Popular Post enaon
9 hours ago, RagingGrandpa said: else I'll be on the hook for endless questions I will point out the most important "hidden" features. 0. you have to use a long press on the side button to start/end the connection to the euc. The euc the side button connects to, is the one you have selected on the garage page. When the euc is present but too far for the watch to establish a connection, the watch displays "far" and retries connection every sec, when the euc is not found on the bt level, the watch displays "lost", and retries connection every 5 secs. When on lost, It will retry as many times as the "retry" option on the dash settings is set at, and then will give up. 1.The button on settings that has an 'i" in your version, is "parent app" aware, it gives a different menu when settings are called from a dash face. You will find some dash settings there, mph/kph, f/c, distance corrections , battery margins etc. The reason this switch is somewhat hidden, it to avoid accidental presses when riding changing the dash options. 2. the "watch alerts" button that is to the right of the dash when the wheel is connected, is for dash color coding and haptic alerts, but haptic alerts have to be enabled by long holding(and realease on the p22) on one(or all) of the four category types, in order to turn the button blue. (* the buzzer icon on main settings menu has no effect on euc haptic alerts, if they are enabled on the "watch alerts" menu of the euc you have set up (this menu is per euc slot), they will buzz anyway) 3. the watch has two "turn to wake" routines, one is for normal watch usage, and one takes acount for euc usage needs. The button on settings is about the watch case, the euc case is automatic, it turns on when connection to euc is initiated, and reverts to the state of the switch when connection is closed. so, if you only want to use it for the euc, leave the "wake" switch off, it will save some battery on standby. 4. the brush icon on settings is also "parrent app" aware, it sets the timeout for "display off" for the face that called settings. If the timeout is over 10minutes, it also overrides the accelerator "hand-down to turrn off screen" so the face that is set over 10 minutes, is an "always on" face. that means that you can have say simple dash work with "raise hand to wake", and digital dash "always on" at the same time, depending on which dash is in front. so, to use the watch as an euc watch, just long hold on the side button, it will start/end the connection to the euc selected on the garage page, and if one is not yet setup, it will take you to the scan page to setup one. RagingGrandpa
A picture is worth a thousand words... @enaon for your next update, how about showing a picture of every mode and menu, with markups showing a 5-word explanation of the function of each button? Was that done automatically, or did you manually change it to bma421? I am not sure a p22 exists with the bma421, but if was auto recognized and works, it is good news I think. If you manually selected it, check that "hand up to wake"/"hand down to sleep" is working when connected to the euc, if not, change it back to the sc7a20. GothamMike
Love this watch! I just ordered elastic wristbands to wear the watch over winter gloves. I notice the EUCwatch turns off the Sherman headlamp whilst lit when reconnecting. DarknessBot will say 99% charged, whilst EUCWatch says 91% at 99.35 Volts on my Sherman. A small concern. Turning off the alerts, vibration, appears to extend battery life on the P8.

mike_bike_kite
Small suggestions for watch: It would be nice to be able to turn the side LEDs off/on. On my Nik+, I sometimes accidentally turn the LEDs on and then have to fiddle forever to turn the damn things off again. It would also be really nice if it remembered your chosen LED setting when it did turn them back on. The simple display shows the speed fine but it would be nice if I could also see the battery% (or max amps or temp) at a glance. A background bar graph would be good for me. There might already be something showing this but I'm getting old and I can't read tiny numbers at the best of times, but especially when I'm riding a unicycle through traffic. It would be better if there was a standard way to indicate that something can be altered (by pressing it) or there's another screen that can be swiped to. I only recently discovered how to change the speed from kph to mph though oddly the max speed seemed to stay in kph. You definitely need to make the whole interface simpler. Some things like the torch/insect repellent/text editor just aren't really required on an EUC watch How do people attach the watch to their wrist guard here? I have the rubber strap of the watch going through my guard but it means having to wiggle my hand past the rubber strap every time I put the guard on. Is there an easy way of attaching the watch to the outside of the guard?

Hi, the watch reverts the lights to the state of the switch on the menu upon connection. Try turning the lights on from the watch for them to stick. The battery empty/full limits can be set from dash options now, maybe try calibrating, but they will not be the same as DB, I am doing linear conversion to 0-100% thanks Edited December 8, 2021 by enaon
