Patton250
How many of you got the notice from Jason giving you the option to pay for airfreight so you can have the KS16X before the end of this month? If so are you going to do it?
Rehab1
Yes I received Jason’s email and agreed to pay the extra shipping cost. Favorable weather is so limited in the Northeast. $250 is a bit steep but I’ll just cut back on taking my wife out to dinner.
chrisjunlee
I opted in as well. $250 is so worth it for me to enjoy 3 extra weeks of summer riding! ☀️

I have not tested the KS16X as of yet... The other two, check. From comments I have seen. The KS16X kinda behavies like a in between Z10 and KS18XL with a twist of V10f. It has the low torque power and is nimble or agile but looses its edge as speeds picks up. Fairly easy to balance at low speeds. Compared to Nikola some said the KS16X is better (torqueier) but other things they didn't like, but that KS took in that feedback and from info I got from my dealer should by now all have been addressed and fixed. Pedal angle, new tyre, better water proofing, double mosfets. Occilliasion issue should be fixed too (partly firmware, partly tyre). Plus a few other things 😁 That sort of sums it all up I think. 3-4 weeks from now I will be ale to tell you more 😉

I think I’m really enjoying the fatter tire wheels. I get the MSX this Thursday. I hope that is the same way.

I found the Z10 to be able to turn so tight from a standstill together with acceleration it threw me off due to centrefugual force, I couldn't keep feet on the pedals. Only did that once, then I didn't test that again, very scary. As for my KS18L I find it fairly easy to ride slow on once I come from speed to close to standstill. From standstill to very slow, not so much. The Z10 was different, if N9 didn't have battery vampire issue and board burn problems, and their way of treating both dealers and riders, it could have been in my hallway. Instead it is the KS16X that is incomming. As for the MSX, something I have not tried.. yet.

Daniel-Son
Did Kingsong release their update to fix the “motor oscillating problem” yet? Don’t want to pay for air freight if the update is not ready. Not in a particularly in a rush down here in the southeast where the summer is long. But I wouldn’t mind getting it early if the wheel is completely done. Daniel-Son
Most of the KS16X reviewers are keeping their reviews in “Pending Mode” until kingsong has release the update to fix the issues. Well I haven’t seen any full reviews yet, so I’m assuming the update has not been released yet. Hopefully soon.

To me, the tire feels / maneuvering dynamics are similar by tire width (3": MSX, 16X, NIkola; 2.5" 18XL, V10F, etc.), even if the diameters are 16" vs 18" (in general). This does NOT mean I think same width wheels ride perfectly alike, as obviously different manufacturer firmware, and different shell shapes / weight component distributions, will change the response and dynamics of the wheel. The KS-16X for some reason reminds me of a mini tank. It feels very stout, solid, and packed in, while the way you can be more aggressive with it, have to be more aggressive to unlock the torque, more than a lighter 2.125" width wheel, all contribute to this tank-like feeling I think. The Z10 shouldn't even be in this discussion IMHO. For better or for worse, 4.1" wide with the dramatically increased gyroscopic effect, does not feel like any other EUC to me, might as well be a different type of PEV. The Nikola is obviously more boxy (esp height), but outside of the differences in how the signature Gotway and King Song algorithms differ, they don't feel incredibly all that different a general ride, obviously both being ~17" x 3" tires. Both are balanced ergonomically, just that you will feel more bulk (more height than width), inbetween your legs with the Nikola than the 16X.... and neither is better than the other IMHO (more compact when storing in a public space will be better with the 16X, but bigger body feel while riding feels more secure when riding amongst car traffic with the Nikola to me). Next to the 18XL, the 16X feels more balanced dimension wise to me. Whenever I get on an 18XL these days, the big and tall (but not wide) circular body alway seems to be positioned very high in juxtaposition to the pedal height, and the whole setup rides a little top-heavy to me, while the 16X feels much more balanced throughout. And the 2200W nominal motor power of the 16X feels considerably more powerful than the 2kW nominal power of the 18XL to me. On the 18XL, while going up some of our NYC bunny hills, I can usually get it to do an overpower if I try hard enough, while with the same effort on the 16X, I still have not been able to (perhaps this will change once @Marty Backe does a 16X hill test? dunno). 3 hours ago, Daniel-Son said: Did Kingsong release their update to fix the “motor oscillating problem” yet? But I wouldn’t mind getting it early if the wheel is completely done. As of today, still there, much to my chagrin (I upgraded again today to confirm). It's not an oscillation, as the bobbling is equal on both sides. It feels like the motor magnets cannot clamp tight enough when pushing the 16X 25mph+, so they bobble/shudder in regular intervals, especially pronounced when hitting a bump or uneven pavement at these speeds, not the most confidence-inspiring.
