  1. 3 wheels isn't much if you think about it I'd say: mten3 - there have been some occasions where a portable wheel would have been really useful RS HT - mountains Something that does not exist yet with more range but also suspension for distance cruising
  2. Moderator notice: The Inmotion V12 is released now, with the first ones in regular buyers' hands. To improve readability of the forum and to allow people to find reliable first hand information about the V12 (instead of speculation and pre-release information) from now on, this pre-release V12 topic has been closed. The V12 discussion can be continued in the new topic (which just has been split off from this one at at opportune point), or you can make your own V12 topic(s) as you desire
  3. One day you never heard of electric unicycles, next day you're addicted.
  4. I believe the charge plug goes right into the battery, not in any way through the board. And the battery goes to the board, which measures the voltage. So if the batteries were unplugged, the board would not get to measure anything from the charger. That's why I think it must be a board error. Right choice imho. Not your job to troubleshoot a brand new expensive wheel. Look forward to a working, great wheel. Hopefully soon.
  5. I totally forgot about the EX suspension that needs a big hollow motor! Might very well be the EX.N is the new standard EX now. Or they come up with a different suspension design (please just copy KS).
  6. I would say it's commendable they experiment Even if the experiment (or their version of it) fails. Given that IM has gone with a traditional axle on the V12 vs. the hollow motor of the V11, I would say Begode/Gotway aren't the only ones that learned a lesson. In theory, a hollow motor could save weight (nothing instead of the motor stator spokes) if the big bearings don't negate the weight savings. And they could offer extra space on the inside that could be used for whatnot. So I'm a bit sad it seems the hollow motors are over, but at least the manufacturers tried. The "mini hollow motor" new Begode motors are the best of both worlds imho. Better than an axle (more robust), not as susceptible as the big bearing hollow motors, even though the latter would be cooler if they worked.
  7. I would ask if the battery is disconnected, but then why would the app show 100%? Seems like a board error, maybe a bad firmware flash. Keep at it! Getting into EUCs can be really annoying (with stuff like this) but once everything is running, you're in paradise. Don't let this sour you on our beloved rides. And ewheels has great customer service. See it as a (frustrating but not too uncommon) rite of passage. Sorry, this is the best I can make of this situation.
  8. What temperature was the garage where it was stored? Did you go over any bump when it cut out? What's your approximate weight?
  9. Yep! 10kph or less: sidewalk. Bike path: something like 30kph max. Faster on street. Done!
  10. I don't like this artificial classification. It's to complicated and restricting. It's like how some ebikes count as motorbikes and you can't bike on the bicycle path with your bicycle. There are no learner cars, city cars, or highway cars. There are just cars. If a 2 ton SUV doesn't need a distiction, my 30kg EUC doesn't need one either. Speed limits work for cars (or not, depending how you see it) and they should be applied to everything else (PEVs), too. That must be enough.
  11. Begode (Gotway) MCM5 is the performance 14 incher. Or an mten3, everybody likes it. Not exactly what you are looking for though.
  12. I contacted the forum owner (he doesn't visit the forum often), we'll see what happens. Might take a while.
  13. This one? https://www.facebook.com/groups/ElectricUnicycle It works just fine for me. Without being logged in, I can see it. With being logged in, I can do the usual stuff (I suppose, never used Facebook). Maybe clear your browser data if something doesn't work. I don't know about Facebook, but I believe you would be told if you were banned, the group wouldn't just be invisible to you.
  14. I believe Begode/Gotway will produce custom firmware when asked by a big enough buyer.
  15. Well that was a better solution than having to get a new board!
  16. Make sure the charge is roughly somewhere between 30% and 90%. Don't fret about single percents. Just not totally empty or full. Make sure your wheel is not a Ninebot One Z10. Make sure the place you store it isn't wet and doesn't get cold or hot. Put wheel there and you're done. It will be the same charge state when you come back
  17. The V8F is too weak for you. The V10(F) is certainly nice. But if you already now consider the possibility of ugrading later, maybe it's best to start with a V11 or a similar wheel right away.
  18. The charge port might be the weakest link.
  19. You're still talking about that video, guys. Right guys? edit: I meant as opposed to personal fights. Related discussions are fine, of course.
  20. Sorry I didn't see that you had already replied earlier! That's strange. Nonstop beeps (= 5 beeps repeating) is the 80% alarm, which should definitely not be there at 30kph. Speed alarms are two and 3 beeps repeating, but with pause between. There must be something wrong, I don't think you are making any mistake. Is there maybe a special firmware on your board that restricts to 30kph for legal reasons? Or something else must be wrong with the firmware on the board. I would contact your seller to help you fix this. He should give you a new board. Where did you buy? If the seller can't or won't help, you need a new board from some other place, like AliExpress. Every time you send a command to the wheel, like "disable X alarm" or "set tilback at X kph", it is supposed to beep twice to confirm. So if it never beeps when you change some setting, that might be another sign that something is wrong with the board and its firmware.
  21. Nice, the Veteran guys aren't resting on their laurels!
  22. The battery idea doesn't make sense (more battery won't give you a higher top speed, just possibly more safety at accelerations) and would probably not be cost-effective (cost as much as the S18 itself - and where do you put the additional batteries?). Maybe wait for the rumored King Song S20 and see how it turns out. It should be a S18 but slightly bigger and with more battery, so I expect it to be faster while having the features you like about your S18. Then you can sell the S18 and get the S20 (or not wait and get a Sherman, RS HS, or EX).
