Popular Post Rehab1
1 year post op Xrays this morning. Good news that there is adequate blood flow to the humeral head resulting in no atrophy of the bone mass. Unfortunately the lateral area of my humeral head that was shattered will never grow back (circled in the red). The humeral head should be round in nature but someone took a chunk out of mine. 3

Well there is one positive thing about those pictures. It show you don't have a heart of stone. Otherwise you would have seen this in the pictures too.

They may have ended up in some dog food or garden fertilizer.

Popular Post Rehab1
Well Thursday I’m off to see my brother in Kentucky aboard a private plane. I just found out the aircraft’s engine was repaired with 3 new cylinders 2 weeks ago and one did not seat properly causing the cylinder head pressure to drop significantly along with burning a quart of oil every hour. A new cylinder has since been installed. Hopefully the mechanic that performed the repair did not have a argument with his wife the night before. I’ve been involved in two helicopter crashes and survived but this scares me a bit. I trust the pilot but he has run out of fuel in the past and crashed. He survived but the plane was totaled. I must say I have been praying for crappy weather so I could just drive but the weather forecast appears to be favorable. Not sure why my wife is asking if my life insurance policy is current. Just remind your wife you promised me the Tesla and the Mten3 before you set off. ps should we send flowers or a donation to Wishful Thinkers Anonymous? But seriously. Best of luck with the visit. But if your gut feeling tell you something, maybe this time it might be good to listen to it. In general I am not afraid of flying, but I do get a little more tense. I had 2 cousins dying in aviation related accidents, one working as commercial helicopter pilot, he had 3 crashes the last one during winther going through the ice at see. The other at a parachute accident at an international competition representing the national team of Denmark. I do believe the both did what they loved doing. In that sence I envy them. Considering compared to your brothers situation. Still i don't mind flying, but it involves risk to some level. Sone airlines I will simply not use. And some places I really do need to visit. I don't have an I want to die now...yet.🙄 Yet I ride an EUC in city trafic.😏 I do think you know what to do @Rehab1 but if something is scream this feels bad...are the alternatives feasible ways to go where you need to go? Yet I know you need to go too.
KeithM
As an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, I have a lot of concerns with multiple cylinder changes, especially when there are subsequent problems with the job. I would hope the job was properly done by a competent mechanic, but your description of the situation raises doubts. I would not be comfortable with the circumstances you describe. It's a bit technical, but this article describes in detail some of the problems that can be encountered. The author is well known and respected in the industry. Yes, I read the whole thing and I'm not even planning to get into a general aviation vehicle any time soon. 33 minutes ago, Rehab1 said: Thanks for your concern. Rich, successful guys die in plane and helicopter crashes all the time; It's practically an epidemic. Ask the French footballer (soccer-ist?) recently signed for Cardiff (Emiliano Sala) Oh, you can't 'cos he dead https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47406109 Or the Malaysian billionaire owner of Leicester city (again, football) Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. Oh wait, he's dead too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-46013381 I seriously would politely decline the flight and go commercial instead. Don't worry about hurting his feelings. Your life, is at stake, and the happiness and welfare of your wife and family. All to save $100 on air fair (or fuel for the truck)and taxis or a few extra hours of travel time ? You spend more than that every month on EUC accessories. Edited March 19, 2019 by Smoother

The National Weather Service indicates precipitation and icing along the same route we would flying. So I drive tomorrow. His old plane had rubber boots located on the leading edge of the wings that could be inflated to break off the ice when it formed but this plane doesn’t. I don’t like turbulence or ice so I made the call.

Nothing would have calmed my nerves today. Surreal. I was in disbelief when I entered the prison after getting frisked and wanded. Every grated steel door I was escorted through had an ‘electrified’ sign and was opened remotely by a chambered guard. The rest was horrible. The pictures are inappropriate for the photo thread and may not be appropriate here as well but this is my ‘down on luck’ diary of sorts where I can visit and reflect back on isolated challenging events in my life spanning the past 14 months. Give your family members a hug and tell them you love them. That’s what I did today.

I've visited a couple, and even though those were considered the low risk, open type, the human anguish and anxiety seems to have seeped into the walls.
