  1. Nonono, they mean the Inmotion calendar! Today is April 31st. Tomorrow is April 32nd. Etc. Give them time. Sooner or later it will be there, and be a very nice wheel by the looks of it.
  2. You don't have to spend that much on a EUC, but the almost-top end is where you get the most bang for the buck. So it's natural to end up buying such a performance wheel right away. A few reasons why, which are often based on the technology how EUCs work and the implications of that: EUCs need a motor, board, shell, etc. no matter the variable parts (mostly battery size). So twice the battery size/performance doesn't cost twice as much, but less. The stronger and more powerful a EUC is, the safer it is. Because you do the same, but have more reserves. (Unless you have little self-control and you speed as much as it will allow you to and go too fast, then it's not safer.) So that can be a reason to buy a "big and bad" wheel right away. It's cheaper if you only buy one wheel that has the range and speed you will ultimately want, instead of a cheaper one and then the expensive one. The important thing is to trust your intuition and go for the wheel you just kind of want. Often one of the candidates is special in that way, you just know. That's the one you should choose. I believe the S18 is a fantastic starter machine. Not too fast or crazy specs, nice features (suspension!), good looks - unless you find it too expensive, why not? It may be off-putting to learn on a wheel that is simply very heavy (*cough* Sherman *cough*). The S18 is on the lighter side of the current lineup. Also, in doubt a bigger tire diameter makes a wheel more sluggish and less instantly-responsive. I think smaller tire diameters may be nicer to enjoy the fun of EUCing and to learn. Unfortunately, the latest wheel models are all 18 inchers (nearly 20 in real life) and the 16 inchers and smaller are older models. That's just how it happens to be right now. But the Inmotion V12 (16 inch, almost 18 in real life with the wide tire, like the 16X or Nikola) is coming and might be a great wheel for you. Also don't shy back of used wheels, especially for learning. Or just because you get a lot for your money compared to a new wheel. If you buy a learner/secondary wheel first, I'd buy something used. But since you seem to like the S18 and mentioned it, why not an S18?
  3. EUCs are sold online and shipped (specialized niche market, local stores don't make much sense here), and for that you only really one shop. Or you have a few competitors with one of them being the big one (see: Amazon). For EUCs in the US, that's ewheels, with freemotionshop and whatnot as also-rans. Multiple shops can exist as equals if it is about local stuff (brick and mortar stores, where location matters; or think Euro stores where location matters more for shipping times, language, prices, warranty etc. so one one-per-country can make sense). I don't think that's related to EUCs, just how the online economy tends to turn out. Winner takes all if there is no unique advantage everyone can have, like location.
  4. I find it interesting how the trend seems to go towards app-less wheels. First the Sherman, now the V12 with a much nicer implementation. I'm sure Begode is going to (badly) put a barely-adequate monochrome configuration screen on their next models, and maybe even giving up on their app altogether then. Not that apps are bad, and the app still does exist as it used to, but the wheel should stand on its own, so it is good if it does like the V12. Stuff shouldn't require a phone app anyways, unless strictly necessary. Also I'm finding I'm using apps less and less. Just logging the rides because I always did that, but what else do you need for a normal ride?
  5. Yea I know. Just wanted to point it out before people start hoping it would be under 2000€
  6. Some nice features! The pincode lock was a no brainer, finally someone did it! This wheel and the improved marketing looks very promising for Inmotion. I would not bet any money on that. More like $2300 = 2500€ in EUC exchange rates We'll see.
  7. @Reciodvd You can post both the original and the translation, as you did. So no meaning is lost and everyone can read it in English
  8. Get a used wheel for massive savings. Used wheels are great because there is not much that can be wrong with them. See here for some more on this. If it's only between the 16S and 18XL, of course the 18XL has more range and is the more "serious" wheel than will be enough for you for a long time. 16S is nice, too, but will likely prove to have not enough range and speed in the longer run. So I'd take the 18XL. Not sure if I wouldn't buy any of those two new (used is completely different) though, simply because they're older wheels and a few € more could get you a V11 for example instead of an 18XL, or you buy used and save a ton in comparison.
  9. @ReciodvdPlease post in English so everyone can understand what is said on this forum. Google Translate is great. You can write in your language, translate, and post the translation to the forum.
  10. Keep it positive guys. The wheel will be there, whether in April or later. I'd rather have Inmotion not unnecessarily rush things. And at least IM is trying their best to be communicative, unlike others.
  11. If you just want to know at what % your wheel throttles, and how, percentage is fine. But for the "which one is safer/better" fanboy wars, you need voltages @AtlasPIs this something you could do/would be interested in?
  12. @yanko20 You should be able to edit etc. now. You could always post photos as far as I know.
  13. These are not legally mandated fees, which by definition aren't hidden and you would know about them beforehand. These are the shipping companies (UPS etc.) making fees up and trying to make it sound like they're just collecting customs duties etc. That's why they generically call them "import fees" instead of saying exactly which government-mandated duties they supposedly are (e.g. VAT, ...). They are simply lieing about the price when you pay for shipping, hide extra costs in the fine print, and hope you blame someone else ("the government") (like @MR BRAD above) when they send you an extra bill later.
  14. Not the first time I've heard of shipping companies making up fees and trying to blame the government. Scummy.
  15. What do you think of the (sharply criticized) braking? Did they improve on that?
  16. Can't speak for the Inmotion V8F, but often pedal dipping in turns can be fixed by a good calibration. Does the V8 offer doing a calibration? If yes, the most important thing is to not have the wheel tilted sideways while calibrating, a sideways tilt seems to throw the sensor off and produce the dipping. The wheel should also be still while calibrating, so just lean it (upright!) against something stable. Worst case... you need a new board (with hopefully no/less dipping). Contact your seller if you can't fix your problem.
  17. Yep, just make it so you can plug the charger directly into the wheel, or plug the charger into the stand and roll the wheel into the stand to charge. Then the stand would be an optional, cheap (all passive, no/few electronics needed) accessory. Needs charge port + the extra stand contacts in the wheel. No idea how complicated it is to disable the charging contacts unless the wheel is in the stand. Since this is about wireless charging, you could even make the stand wireless. "Premium Wireless Charging Stand". Don't know if that extra complexity would be worth it.
  18. I would be very impressed by a technical implementation of wirelessly charging a wheel. But I think it's useless. What is the difference between laying your wheel in exactly the right spot for wireless charging, or just plugging a charger in? What benefit would it bring? How would the wireless charger look? How much would it weigh? If you want waterproofing, just hide a regular charge port behind a really waterproof plug (a screw cap with some gaskets in the middle, instead of the cap being only a rubber flap). - A related idea: a wheel stand with built in charging, via contacts on both sides of the wheel that activate only when in the stand. So you can quickly roll your wheel in and it charges automatically. But you would still need a charge port and normal charger for charging underways. Nobody is going to carry a stand while riding. Maybe as an extra accessory for people to buy for their homes. - Great you're asking though
  19. Do you have a working prototype? Looks nice, the kind of smaller wheel.
