@Rehab1 can I ask who is the monster on this photo? Credits go to the horse rider's wife, who is actually a great horse rider  :)

The horse of course. ;) The weather looked pretty nice for a January ride.

You may notice that the boulder is the same one as my earlier photo... I brought it along to up my street-cred in the "What's the biggest thing you've carried" topic!  ;)

Strong stuff! Did you also spray paint the boulder pink   to match your wheel?

I love Bob Seger and that song! Bob’s first band in the 60s was called The Bob Seger System. They played a lot of small venues- 300 to 400 people max. When they played in Toledo in a small club called The Warehouse my rock band was invited to perform the opening act. The event organizer had heard us practicing in a basement next door to the club one night. Our repertoire consisted of 3 mediocre songs. The basement acoustics were so bad we must have sounded pretty good outside to be invited. End of story: We all chickened out.

I still remember the classic 90 Degree angled drums mounted on pedestals.

Is that Richard Kozinski on Keyboards at that time for Bob's band?

That's correct... I just kept riding... Until my battery got right down to 4% .

Then I had to sit and endure this hellish plaice until Mrs. TFU managed to find me...

I'm somewhat amazed that you still haven't bought a new wheel. Before you know it, it'll be the 1-year anniversary since our ride together. I certainly hope by then you will have jumped off the fence and bought something so that you never again have to suffer the indignity of having your wife pick you up :laughbounce2:

Close. Here is what I found:

By 1971 Richard joined a new band The Sunday Funnies who signed under the Motown Records’ Rare Earth Label.  Producer/Manager Andrew Loog Oldham (Rolling Stones) was hired and produced two Sunday Funnies Albums: “SUNDAY FUNNIES” and “BENEDICTION”. Both albums, although having light sales, were played extensively on radio stations worldwide. Kozz co-wrote, sang, and played on all songs on both albums. The band was working and toured with artists like Three Dog Night, The James Gang, Deep Purple, Ike and Tina Turner, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, and Brownsville Station.

It wasn't (really) an indignity, it was planned... I have been noticing some unusual things with my wheel, so I wanted to run it right down to add to my data. I will post about that later when I have more information, but the sort of thing I mean is that my wheel stops charging at 64.64V (not with a Charge Doctor) but that shows as 100% - and I am trying to understand if that is an IPS battery management thing.

But you are right - time has flown since my LA ride, and before I got off the plane heading home I had decided on an MSuper, but then I caught up with Thomas Hoon in Singapore who told me about the KS-18L...

In the end, I have decided that I want need both (for different reasons)... But I am now struggling to find someone who will ship them to New Zealand! To the point that I am actually looking to become a reseller (for the benefit of both me and the rest of the country).

So let's put it in writing now... I will have my next wheel(s) before it has been a year!

Kozz is how I know him. Although I thought he only used one Z now. Thats what he told us too. He was working at SIR studio rentals delivering some risers to Capital records when Bob said "Hey Kozz, You'll never get anywhere staying in Detroit huh?" While leaning over a balcony overlooking the main entrance inside. Bob had just signed his deal with Capital Records that day. Kozz left Detroit and the Band because Bob thought it was better to stay in Detroit and wouldnt move to L.A., and Kozz thought L.A. was where it was happening so he went.

Very interesting story. You have a great memory for names. Being Seger has toured twice over the last few years have you seen him in concert? Unfortunately I missed the opportunity.

That's good to hear , and very exciting for you I'm sure. I hope that there's a viable market in New Zealand to make your venture successful. You might have to do what @Jason McNeil does, and sell scooters too. I'm sure this helps a lot with cash flow.

I'm up in Maine in a town called Surry visiting my sister and looking out the window. Bringing the Monster along on the bus ride from Boston to Bangor doesn't really fly as a good idea. Getting the Monster to the bus in Boston is another hassle if the early bus is to be caught. Charging the Monster while visiting is another issue of politeness. Leaving the Monster in the cold garage for later use could be another problem in terms of riding at this time in the winter.

i saw this magical photo opportunity

focus and depth of field effect is interesting as is the blue rock.

speaking of focus (mental)...I was on chess.com playing against the computer.....I hit the wrong button and launched a game of 10 minute blitz chess vs someone (chess.com picked) in Saudi Arabia.....55 moves later with less than a minute left the player resigned as I developed a winning position......a magical win with all considered...playing as black. I've been 'hiding' lately while trying to improve my skills. I love winning but admit to being a sore loser when I don't win.

Only last night did I read of the passing of 'Jane' who lived at the end of the street where I lived for many years. I remember her slow Parkinson's like walk and her unkept house exterior. I remember her parents from living down the street in the 1970s.

"Jane was raised in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary's Girls High School in Lynn and from Emmanuel College Magna Cum Laude receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. She pursued post-graduate studies in chemistry and biology.
She worked for 20 years in laboratories at M.I.T. and then began a second career at Salem State University working in the Math Lab. Jane held many roles in the department, mentoring many students with great patience and skill, and continued tutoring at the college until the age of 87. She also enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling."

In 2013 I took a picture of Jane's house

79547.jpg

In 2013 I sent a message to Jane at her SSU email address:

I was walking past your house on Wilfred Terrace this morning around 9:00 am and heard a continuous humming sound coming from your house, probably in the basement. Perhaps a pump related to your heating system was making the noise. I understand that you are transitioning to long term housing elsewhere and have contracted a service to clean out your house. If the sound is in fact an electric pump which is stuck it may be overheating as well.

I hope this message helps and I have forwarded a copy to North Shore Elder Services too as a precaution in case you do not read this email.

Regards,
Bob Eisenman

Ps. I'm without heat and electricity, have not yet found a job and am receiving food stamps. I turned 60 in October.

"why not ride?"

The return ride passes by an entrance to 'Landmark School' (dyslexic specialists) which is accessed by a climbing hairpin auto road (blue-purple). The Monster went up (and down) the incline really well , passing a pedestrian along the way, but I cant imagine challenging the 'Meep Alps' curves on an EUC.?
