I see you Bob!  Give me a wave!  Nice, I see it. Have fun on your ride. You get the most out of your Monster than anyone I know.  Much respect!

It's a really nice shot! What camera did you buy?

Nikkon D7500. Its quite an amazing bit of kit, even tho its not at the top of the chain by a long shot. My recent sherman vid has it in video mode for the 'intro'. I have 3 lenses, but my prime lens is a simple 27-70mm. Just like the best music is made by tube gear still, it seems my favorite lens is still 35mm.

Yesterday I rode from the train stop in Newburyport to Hampton beach (NH) via Salisbury beach (MA) where the wind driven surf was up.

Leaving my apartment it felt cool so I donned an extra layer and packed a hat. By the time I reached the coastline it was time to put the hat on to avoid a persistent chill. A few miles later I debated cutting the ride short (too chilly) but opted to continue to Hampton beach where, despite most store closures, the beachware stores would have their apparel on sale. I picked up a blue windbreaker on sale. These shops close for the season in a few weekends.

Beach goers seem to split into two groups based on dress and cold sensitivity. Younger folks seem to be unaffected by the cool temps.

preferring instead to feel the sun warmed sand under their feet.

Thanks....I had to read up on him (M.N.)....7 years a prisoner......1938-1945

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Niemöller

I used to teach in a private New England boarding school, after dropping out of a graduate school masters program. One of my students was Chris Lorant, whose Dad was Stefan Lorant (photojournalist),

https://prabook.com/web/mobile/#!profile/3746162

author of 'I was Hitler's Prisoner'.

I'm sure I met his Dad (Stefan @ a parent teacher conference) but don't really remember much (1980's).

Stefan Lorant was getting on in years when Chris was my student. The director of studies (my brother in law,  Ms in Colonial history) simply said Chris's Dad was a historian from WWII. Chris was very polite.

Into the sunset

Nice colors...cirrus clouds...chilly upper air. When I was about the age of the kid in your picture (me: 1963 '4th' grade). I lived in Pennsylvania. I didn't know much about California but bought a skate board (plastic wheels hadn't been invented yet). Ten miles away , in the coal fields, this was the newspaper headlines. They got two of the three miners up after the mine area they worked collapsed around them.

Time passes, we moved to different states and the scenery changed alot.

I think my Dad appreciated the change in scenery too...following the typhoon of October 1945 near Naha, Okinowa and return to the states (NY) in 1946.

Okinawa 1945 and typhoon aftermath

The New England coastline was very appealing in the 1960s- 1980s.

I'd like the EUC even more if I didn't faceplant on occasion, like yesterday while getting caught in a sidewalk crack at a snail's pace.😟 No serious damage.

Lately I've been window shopping for an e-bike which might be better for my age/arm physique.

I do not recommend that specific version because the mirror is flat (I bought that specific one in the past). I recommend versions with a version slight convex surface. See my Amazon Store for links: https://www.amazon.com/shop/electricunicycles

Great

I rode to Boston over the weekend and encountered 3 other EUC riders at this jogging path intersection near a children's play area (foreground) location on the Esplanade where July 4th concerts are held.

One of the riders was dressed in colorful gear resembling Marty-wear. I marveled at the helmet/gear worn by the tall rider , knowing it's purpose, but wondered if.... for the uninformed pedestrian,  the appearance was a dazzling out of place overkill . The helmet (Ferrari driver look) and the pads (ready, like an armored knight for the worst impact) detracted attention from the (slow moving device) EUC he rode(rolled on) and bespoke 'ready for anything' like protection expected from maybe a dirt bike rider on the bumpy trail.

After all it's a bicycling path and jogging route.

Any thoughts?

The Mike Sacristan outerwear look, although potentially risky, blends more effectively with the surroundings.
