Im on day 3 of edit  and was going post another boring ride of me thru the hood, but you are probably correct, i neednt bother. I would like to step it up, but i am just NOT GOOD at preparing and filming and all the editting. Hell,my computer doesnt like it either.  I admire the skill it takes. Sadly, I spend a LOT of time to just get my shitty videos up to the crappy standards they are. It takes me forever to align telemetry and to even get the damn camera to work. I just dont have the skill to make it a little more effortless. YOu guys do great work and I feel like some are definitely working in video or have trained in video. You make a good point Ray, hurts me to admit it, but it is what it is. Even thinking of content is a nightmare for me. Rather than hear my stupid opinoins and risk offending or incriminating myself, I make the videos pointless. People used to ask for simple videos to just watch and feel like they were out for a ride, or to see how other people and where other people ride/live. Sadly, I also am not overflowing with information that I think anyone would benefit from... So, carry on you pro's, I'll perhaps consider not entering into the arena where I am terribly outmatched.

I was having a similar discussion with another member the other day. It’s sad.

When the video thread was a singular entity and not split up into multiple topics there appeared to be more interest and viewership.

Members traditionally spend days on editing their videos and are very enthusiastic to share their hard work and passion on the video thread. That has all changed. 

Now videos are highly scrutinized for their content and production value or not recognized at all by their peers.

Currently most members  posting videos receive very few accolades for their hard work and passion. Even simple heartfelt videos featuring children and family members riding together no longer receive due credit.

Creating videos is an art and no one paints using the same brush. Yes there are professionally produced that are fun and informative to watch videos but 90% of the members don’t have the time or resources to create such high caliber productions.

I miss the old days when every member’s video was given the credit and praise it deserved.

I think youve misunderstood me a little... Heres my issue.. if youre going to post a video, you can discuss something about the wheel or the ride, or yourself.... its not about being whizz bang filmic.

Its not about superb editing, its not about these things at all. Everyone is invited including you.

Its ok to have shots of yourself learning,  its fun, that is good content.

If a member feels intimidated to post (hopefully its mild not strong) ... SO BE IT.!  WHY? Because that's how it should be! RAISE THE BAR. The Video thread is the "space mission" in this forum lets stop pretending. 

We need a  high bar regardless,  despite hobbyist entertainment. We are representing huge numbers of increasingly interested people.  WE/ You are unique... lets stop pretending... When people see every single EUC rider they are fascinated and amazed. That carries a huge responsibility.

Lets not forget... this is the most incredibly ECO progressive slice of a transport industry right now too,  &  it is incumbent upon us all to influence the laws & wave a flag of legitimacy to bring inclusion to us all over the world.

WHY?

This "hobby"is so profoundly NEW,  not even the law can keep up.

This "hobby" deserves to be promoted well,  not showcased as a sorry dribble, esp when we know folk observe best through video.

This "hobby" is so not a hobby for higher numbers.. it is a transport tool and needs credibility right now to stop us being legally marginalised.

Every single person that owns an EUC right now is like a "god progression"  We all feel it & know it from the comments that happen to us & keep continuing.. (bless them, we were once also like that)  . It is a profound &  decent thing to enjoy but be humbled by our representation....despite the fact we pay for it hard when we get the riding wrong! (Face-plant hell)

A poor attention to video quality this time  is lazy, and doesn't reflect upon us well whilst review and legal determination is happening. In this regard it shows a cavalier attitude to what we / you/them are experiencing and strips us of our rights, for if one thing is for sure.. WE ARE BEING REVIEWED RIGHT NOW HARD BY GOVERNMENTS OVER THE WORLD. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO SLACK

The majority of video is fine.. no problems... I just got mouthy over seeing lame video disrespecting road traffic and with poor commentary.

Banal videos without opinion, or showcasing value, opinion or great style   shouldn't be perpetrated much. This is bigger than self.

Conclusion. It takes no editing skill whatsoever to at least talk positively your values and experience with the wheel  if your filming skill is bad. after all.. youre still riding the damned wheel.

PS. To everyone...   Its not just about you.. its about US.

Personally, I didnt sign up to be an ambasaddor as others are suggesting. Hell, i dont even care enough to use spell checker! I didnt sign up to be a part of some gang to promote anything. I didnt sign up to further this sport nor teach/train other people. I'd actualy prefer this euc thing to stay under the radar so I can be left alone to do my thing. I didnt sign up to be held accountable for others, nor be blamed for what they do. It seems like I am being pressured into some unwanted responsibility to everyone else. All of this pressure is not what I bargained for. Being compared against people with an agenda and prepration and skill is a bit daunting. I am surprised the video thread is coming to this. I JUST purchased a camera and an editor to try and have some fun, learn a little, and share my joy/ranting with others. Now that I know theres some hidden agenda and deeper purpose, it pretty much ruins the entire reason I bothered to try learn video at all.  What was once inteded to just be a fun thing to do, has progressed into some stupid agenda. I am THIS close to saying piss on it all and deleting my channel altogether. Last thing I need in my life is more worries that i am paying for with my own time and money. Someone let me know when its back to being okay to publish just random bullshit and it will be seen as simply 'random bullshit'. I for one, don't have the grading chart or cheat sheet to judge if a video is good enough for this place or not.  I do know how to NOT click a video or just skip one that doesnt interest me.  I'll be checking back in from time to time on this thread, to see if MAYBE its once again just a simple place that anyone can pretty much share anything in any form they like, so long as its euc related.  Fwiw, i think its downright awful for people to post videos from other people. I know how youtube works. I know how to go watch videos of the people who market themselves and have great content. I REALLY don't need a third party, pushing videos that arent theirs. Why would I assume that the collection of videos that I like (made by others), needs be regurgitated here by me, as if my opinion and 'best hits' list makes a single solitary fuck to anyone else...  My rant has now ended, but i must confess, I was provoked.

You need to be pretty geeky about unicycles to be watching every video in this thread. Its a place to grow the community and share experiences.  People are smart enough to not compare Duf to Kuji. Its different audiences.

You also wont improve if you don't keep posting, you might not like a current video but that same creator may post a masterpiece next year lol

Please don't feel offended, because I also don't like boring videos. But, here is the right place for ALL good and crap videos and I know how to Block people and I know who is making good stuff that I like and who is making crap which I don't click. Same on Facebook, I have a long blocking list because of daily boring videos. I like it clean. 

To all people with boring shit videos, please don't feel offended, because that's the reason why I don't post videos, nor I have a camera for filming. My videos would be the same boring shit for other, except for my family. 

Sometimes I use my smartphone and (try) to film some spectacular things when riding alone. At home I show it my family and they doesn't look spectacular anymore. 

Then I delete the shit, but that's me, others prefer to show the boring stuff to others and that's your damn right (unfortunately).

If someone wrote to me here or on Facebook about Power-Pads, but didn't get an answer, sorry, you just shouldn't have posted so many shitty videos, then you wouldn't be on the blocklist.

But I held back from commenting further as you clearly had no desire to change your ways or even acknowledge your role as an ambassador of the sport.

The childish sniggering about it being a 'moist' Saturday was one thing, but the final comment on your first video - "right in the vagina" - is just vile. Seriously, that sort of shit is unacceptable and is part of the reason the sport is still primarily one for 'bros'.

Saying "the world is full of all types" to excuse shitty behaviour is a cop-out. If you have no desire to make this community more inviting to 50% of the population, that's up to you. But I seriously doubt you speak for the majority, as you claim. That you admit you are irritating to damn near everyone suggests the opposite is closer to the truth.

How long has it been since you hung out with the fellas, had a few beers and paid attention to the language content? Maybe you have 'classy' friends, but I prefer 'trashy' friends. The world is to pc I've been on this forum many years and have not taken anything said offensive to me or anyone ,humour is humour which any way its said and I enjoy all types ,,nothing is said to hurt anyone , @ShanesPlanet i find his straight talking dont give a shit what I say quite funny and respect that, its just his way to express which he probably means no harm @Mike Sacristan he's a dude  the Jeremy Clarkson  of euc with his comments, he has female euc rider friend's which take no offence  I for one enjoy his videos and so does my female partner and never found anything offensive,,humour is humour but everyone has different tastes i'd hate it if the world has one brand of humour , i don't take things in life to seriously  , I've read all sorts of comments  on this forum and not many people take offence  I don't want to make videos to be PC  you say what you say at the time and not to offend anyone but to enjoy what we do.

Yesterday when I filmed that I was scouting areas to practice. Then I met up with a female friend. She has made her own karambits and put them on her Tesla. She wants to learn tricks.
We were going to try some stairs. She said the most she had ever done was two stairs. So we did two stairs. Then I asked her to try with my MSX. She said it felt smoother. I complimented her and encouraged her and suggested we find three stairs. So we found three stairs. She looked nervous. She handed me her Tesla and asked me to do it first. I did. She was still hesitant so I told her that I would stay nearby and catch her if she were to stumble and fall. She asked how would I catch her. I told her it's not relevant and that she would have to trust in my ability somewhat... but even more... trust in her own. After some hesitation she did the three stairs on her Tesla and then on my MSX. This went on and we eventually did four stairs. She had trouble feeling good about herself and was pretty much controlled by fear and discomfort. We went to a skate park and played a bit with jumps and air time. We shared an energy that I had brought along. It started raining and she had done her lashes the day before and they can't get wet so we cruised over to her place. Her attitude was a bit aggressive towards me. I mentioned this and asked her why she was being mean to me after all of this. She said it wasn't personal. I asked her if the stuff we had been doing felt very demanding. She answered that she was generally displeased with her performance and also with her wheel. She would like another tyre. I suggested the H-5102 in the sizing for Tesla. She interpreted me as meaning that I was suggesting to put an 18x3 tyre on her Tesla. I told her no, that is impossibly what I mean as I would not suggest something physically impossible. I told her that I was trying to help her with the problems that she was mentioning. That she should be happy with what she has achieved. That she should make the best of what she has for now. She started crying. I apologised for being demanding of her while she was struggling emotionally.

After that I started to roll home. I passed by a supermarket to buy food as Monika had been teaching Zumba all day. I bought her her favourite noodles and a bag of onion flavorued vegan chips. The day before I had bought her some sherry so that she could wind down in the evening.

Then I spent some time editing for YouTube and Instagram.
Fell asleep late because the interaction with my friend during the day was still bothering me.

Then I woke up in the morning and found out that I hate women.

Right in the vagina is geared towards men and is a play on words.

Society always expects men to do the more extreme stuff, the jumps, the danger, the falling, etc. If we do not we are deemed less manly. Often with slurs like being called a pussy or not having any balls. It is interesting how you found misogyny in this.
