Looks like the current construction lacks damping though which may make it more fun but less practical. Another disadvantage of a long suspension travel is the change of pedal height. Either the pedals have be to higher to begin with or they may get dangerously close to the ground. Given that weight is an important factor to me, just exploiting the original pedal folding mechanism with an added rubber probably remains my favorite approach.
