Slick deals for hoverwheel-related stuff

As Black Friday is approaching, let's share the insane deals we can find on anything useful for hoverwheel riding.

I just picked up this Moto e5 phone for only 30 bucks at Best Buy:

https://slickdeals.net/f/13528789-at-t-prepaid-motorola-moto-e5-play-with-16gb-memory-prepaid-cell-phone-29-99

I use it for running WheelLog and navigation while riding. It's easy to accidentally drop the phone while riding; you don't want to risk your expensive $1K flagship phone just to check something in WheelLog or on the map. In fact, I bought this e5 to replace my e4 (bought last BF for the same 30 bucks) which fell from the table and cracked the screen.

It's a fantastic general-use device, and it has a replaceable battery! (spare batteries are cheap, too)

Just take the AT&T SIM out before you turn it on for the first time, and skip all steps related to cellular service. Voila! A cheap WiFi-only smartphone!

Share the killer deals you find! Phones, cameras, flashlights, safety gear, clothing, etc.

If we were looking to have a Black Friday sale at Roll.nz, what would people like to see?

I'm thinking a couple of EUC discounts would be appreciated by New Zealand riders. But then could / should we offer anything for our global customers too???

Sorry to hijack your thread so early on @Aneta, but you presented the perfect opportunity for us to be guided by some feedback...

In the past there haven't been many noteworthy deals on EUCs or EUC-specific accessories, but you could find deals on non-EUC-specific accessories--tire gauges/pumps, flashlights, safety lights/reflective gear, general protective gear (helmets, guards, pads, etc), etc.

Brand new iPhone SE for 60 bucks? Nothing is impossible:

https://slickdeals.net/f/13544038-32gb-simple-mobile-apple-iphone-se-prepaid-smartphone-silver-60-free-shipping

It's been discontinued, but it can run the latest iOS 13. Can be used for iOS development without breaking a bank, includes free 1 year of Apple TV service, and can run those EUC apps that are only available for iOS (for those riders who are mostly on Android). (For example, Rockwheel app is only for iOS.) Can be used as just a general WiFi device. Takes 4K/30 video.

The deal is sold out, but it seems that sometimes it reappears at Best Buy. Keep refreshing, you may get lucky. (I did.)

Just bought this little gem: LG Phoenix 4, twenty dollars at Best Buy (in store only):

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/at-t-prepaid-lg-phoenix-4-with-16gb-memory-prepaid-cell-phone-titan-black/6292036.p?skuId=6292036

Unbelievable. Probably, the cheapest phone to run Wheellog or EUC World, and manufacturer's app. Bright sharp screen, very snappy, Android 8.1, very comfortable to hold, SD card slot, replaceable battery (!). Going to grab another one, it's so dirt cheap! $100 for 4 fantastic phones (2x Moto E5 Play $30/ea., 2x LG Phoenix 4 $20/ea.) And every single one serves a useful purpose.

Totally insane, if you can find it at your Walmart - an ultraportable laptop for only 89 bucks.

https://slickdeals.net/f/13735292-ymmv-lenovo-flex-11-11-6-2-in-1-laptop-win10-intel-celeron-n4000-4gb-ram-64gb-emmc-ssd-office-365-1-year-b-m-only-walmart-for-89

It's not powerful (Intel N4000 Celeron with 2 cores, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage), but sufficient for web surfing and youtube. $89 is a cheap Android or Chromebook territory, but this is full Windows 10 Home machine, with activated license!

Is it EUC related? Absolutely, because if you want to stop on your long ride for a coffee break and just browse forums and whatnot, you don't want to bring your main $2000 laptop - breaking a $89 laptop if you crash surely beats breaking a 2K one.

I got one, and love it!!! Will be my "EUC ride laptop".

Canon has Rebel T6s body for $199, going constantly in/out of stock, with free shipping until end of year. A good backup or beginner/intermediate camera for those with Canon lenses. (The deal even included a free refurbished 18-55 lens, but it seems to be continuously OOS now.) A cheap but decent DSLR camera is good to take on EUC rides, in case of a crash the loss will be minimal.

E-scooter for 99 bucks? Shut up and take my money!

Check your local Walmarts! I've got one, not bad, seems to be solidly built. Looks like a copy of Xiaomi 365. A perfect gift, too.

I'm astonished at the specs. That damned scooter even has lithium ion batteries.

I bought one of these.

My number 1 rule is never buy anything mass-produced in China that you have to Kickstart. It's just foolish, but I did it anyway.

[USA-only]

Anyone tried buying stuff at Home Depot for....... ONE PENNY?! Apparently, when HD decides to liquidate some items that were not sold out even after deep discounts, they are assigned the price of $0.01 and employees are supposed to find these items in the store so they can be destroyed. This article explains how to find and buy such items:

https://www.wallethackers.com/home_depot_penny_items_shopping/

If not just for savings (which is very important to us, since hoverwheels are very expensive, so every saved dollar counts), some items can be useless to you per se, but can be used for raw materials. What lead me to this was this slickdeal: https://slickdeals.net/f/13765454-3m-clear-professional-face-shield-ymmv-0-01 Looks like the clear shield or the top black piece can be used as a replacement visor for the helmet (or if your helmet is open face, you can make a DIY visor out of this) or as a mudflap. A piece of Plexiglas this size can easily cost several dollars; here it's basically free.

I thought someone would find this useful. Let the $0.01 hunt begin! Share what you find!
