  1. Neat video about countersteering on a bicycle. Works the same for EUCs. This is short and explains how you need to countersteer on a device that relies on balance, just like EUCs do. This also applies to keeping the balance on a EUC at very low speeds. Essentially you countersteer back and forth constantly by twisting the wheel under you, and ride in a squiggly line.
  2. Ugh. The RS is a fantastic wheel you can't really buy because of the battery problems. But 1800Wh to 1020Wh sucks. Why not just use better Li-Ion cells? *cough* V12 *cough* Is it the Begode firmware or BMS or whatever that can't handle such cells? Do all such cells blow up when the power draw is too high, so they don't really work for such a wheel?
  3. Might that just be going from the new bigger-diameter "C40" motor, originally on the EX and Monster Pro, to one of the standard Begode motors (C30 or C38)?
  4. It might have been different had you sent a PM first, but you couldn't yet*. I'm afraid that was just bad luck. But don't worry, especially in the US there's a big second hand market, so your next chance will come soon. Just be careful when you go to bed - * We forum staff hate the PM restriction precisely for this reason, but it's sadly necessary for spam prevention.
  5. @LatlazHi, you can send PMs now (very new members can't, but that is over for you now). I hope that wasn't why you didn't get this wheel!
  6. Oh boy. Looks like it is a nice wheel in theory, but not in practice. Are these a fire danger, or different from the M50T that caused the fires?
  7. @ShanesPlanetDo you have a fitting one?
  8. I didn't know you could get a refund outright! This is clearly the best option. Dealing with a damaged wheel is seriously not fun, and you have potential damage in all the worst places (battery, and maybe even the board). You did the only sensible thing. Sad, but for the best.
  9. This is good advice. If there's a wheel that you somehow just want, it is the one to get.
  10. That's low even for one of the two battery packs. If the pack is damaged in addition, this is a reasonably credible range, I guess. That is completely crazy. Not sure if the board is somehow damaged, too, or what else this could be. - Be a bit careful with a (probably) damaged battery pack. I wouldn't ride such a wheel. Just repair it quickly or have ewheels do the warranty repair if it looks too complicated.
  11. Sounds very much like a bad board (that was always close to dieing) that died. A blown (as in exploded a bit) mosfet should be easy to see (and smell). Post some photos if you want, but such damage is usually obvious. As you say your MSX is almost new, contact your seller right away. Classic "send me a new board on warranty" case if you ask me.
  12. If I had to guess: one battery pack is somehow bad and doesn't charge to full, and the other pack is disconnected entirely (probably just the fuse on the connector cable blew). These might be overheat hill consequences. - 98V is roughly 88% compared to full voltage as 100%. That would give you... 85% of the full range? 25 miles is way too little for that. Is maybe one battery disconnected? The fuse connecting the battery pack blown? That would roughly explain your range issue (but not the failure to charge to full voltage). If you can do something via warranty, do that first. Then, you can do the thing where you disconnect one battery and see what the other does. Be careful, only-re-connect the battery packs together when they are at the same voltage (which might not be the case if one has a blown fuse and was unused while you used and charged the other!).
  13. Ok, I can agree with that Stick an axle into the Begode motor and you have something like the Abrams motor. The rest is very similar. I thought you meant that Begode have axles now, so I was confused. It is good! Begode are "in the news" when they do some seriously dumb shit, but that sometimes hides their seriously great innovations. In comparison, the Abrams has an (unneeded) axle and very limited space for the motor cable, while the rest of the setup is very comparable. - Anyways, Abrams. The construction seems very heavy. How much weight do you think could be saved simply with a lighter construction (that otherwise does the same)? Do you think it could be a 35kg wheel? 30kg? The cast metal board casing can't be weight effective. And I wonder if a lighter motor is possible. Any ideas?
  14. @fbhbThose are the pictures that I wanted to post but could not find Unless Begode have something new, this is their current solution. Quite clearly the best overall, in my opinion - easy and robust pedal hanger attachment + no bearing problems + huge amount of space for a motor cable (even if they don't use it for a thicker cable). But I guess are seriously thick axle like on the Abrams is the second best.
  15. Maybe someone built a Franken-MSX with the RS motor somehow. Anyways, 2300 V11 or 2000 18XL - a choice between two great wheels! (Or some other wheel?)
  16. Hi! See here Maybe as a brand new member, the forum's own picture functionality doesn't work for you, but that will change soon. For a few small pictures it's enough.
  17. The MSX (and its successor, the MSP) have the standard old axle construction. It's an old wheel The RS has the hollow motor (with the new, smaller bearing, they seem to be perfect, but there's the battery issue). A used MSX for <1000 (or <800 or whatever) would be good. But not a "new" one that is overpriced and has a small battery and sat at the dealer for 2+ years.
  18. Nothing there yet. Just google the wheel model you decide on, and see what pops up. There's also this, but it is old, so Google is your friend, or try eunicycles.
  19. The entire EU is a single market. You don't pay any import fees or whatever. In this case, you pay Polish VAT (included in the price, it says), just like with anything you'd buy in a Polish supermarket or other physical store. Add shipping, and that's your price, just like a German shop. I've never used eunicycles. But they have been around a while (including posting here a few years ago), have a good website (I use that to judge what to think of sellers, even if it sometimes gives no indication) and a good (= current) selection of wheels (which tells you they are not some old shop on life support), and the prices are ok (cheaper than some other Euro sellers, and not much more expensive than China importers). If I had to buy a wheel now, personally I would buy from them, why not. Check the links at the bottom of their page if you have questions on shipping etc. I use the EUC for fun only, which means mountains and landscape and on bike paths along rivers etc. You hardly see the police except a few times when going through some village/city, and don't underestimate that EUCs are fast and sneaky. Of course you can always have bad luck. The alternative is not riding, which isn't an option
  20. Buy from a shop that has current models on sale, that's how you know it's active. A lot of shops are old and display some old models for crazy prices. You can always link to the seller and ask for opinions about them, or ask for a seller for a specific wheel. This is my attempt to get a list of current seller that people are using. Nothing there yet, but you can buy yours and give your assessment of the seller then.
  21. No, they just have inflated prices. You don't have to buy from a German shop, the entire EU works the same, it should merely be reasonably close in case of a return or repair. The one I linked is one of the older/more established ones, for example. Poland isn't that far. Those issues are fixed. That was just the first batch (revision) of the V11. Some shitty old ass Gotway wheel from 2017 (ACM). In Desktop view you can see what wheels people have, if they added it to their profile. Same as their location.
  22. Aren't these "small hollow" with no axle? Or was there another change?
  23. These prices seem a little high. Who would your seller/shop be? The MSX (MSuper X) is a 2018 wheel, followed by the Msuper Pro, followed by the RS (latest "msuper" wheel). The RS 1800Wh (instead of 1280Wh whatever that is... 1230Wh?) is about 2200€. I can't recommend it due to the current battery troubles (bad LG cells that seem to have had a few fires), though (except that it is a fantastic wheel). The 18XL can be had for ~2000 (EU shop). Also consider the V11 or the V12. Check here for some more reasonable prices, for example: https://eunicycles.eu/en/25-wheels?id_category=25&n=24 There are quite a few EU shops, you don't have to buy from the expensive ones.
  24. Hmm, not perfect (and heavy!), but a nicely done construction, full of new ideas. Thumbs up Veteran people I like how the connectors (motor and batteries) have their own sealed compartments. Samsung 50E - no fire concerns! They left a little "fun" extra in the tire - it is a Chinese EUC manufacturer after all... The motor has a solid axle, but it's very thick. This is neat, but a hollow construction would offer more space for the motor cable, which is bent a little sharply. But they can improve that with a simple semi-rigid protective sleeve for the cable.
