The first few 84V Gotways (ACM, ms3) both had white side panels, didn't they? Where did you buy? Just curious, because white side panels make me wonder what's going on, is it a used wheel? 17% climb means going for a few (like 3 or 5) minutes, then waiting for at least the same time for the wheel to cool down. Even 10% is probably above what you can do consistently without overheating (or worse in the 17% case). So my guess is, if these percentages are real, the trip won't be too long (distance wise - the time to carry a broken wheel back down from where it failed might very well be long). Marty, wear your protection and maybe carry the mten3 in a backpack so you can get down in reasonable time again Really looking forward to see how this turns out! Aber das ist ja der Sinn der Sache, alles was die Leute ernsthaft statt dem Auto benutzen würden wird auf die Weise sabotiert. Siehe 45km/h limit für ebikes, damit keiner auf die Idee kommt, in der Stadt wäre es dem Auto gleichwertig - denn die können ja 50.

Did another ride today. Fantastic weather but with some localized rain clouds passing overhead that needed strategic dodging. EUC is faster than a cloud Some impressions... When you realize you're not going to dodge THAT one... This was exactly the direction for the way back. Let's just say, it came up fast and from another direction than the other ones before. Has a nice rainbow though. 2 minutes later, I'm soaking wet. Extreme downpour. Waiting under a roof (where the light is). Had myself picked up by car there. Too cold/wet for the 15+ km ride home.

Did a little 60+km 5h30min ride today, mostly through some nice high valley Bavarian mountain scenery (starting and going back right from home, the Gotway Gods bless big batteries that allow this). Wanted to post more photos, but even the final selection after a hard fight and an extra elimination round is like 40 pictures So, here are just some of them (for your bandwidth's sake). Enjoy! It's a semi-turd (the camera only, rest is great), but it's what I have and it's certainly good enough And those aren't repairs, it's tactical duct tapeTM used to keep some seams tight where the screwholes between the shell halves are worn out (precaution for rain/peace of mind) and to fix a back light to it because I'm too lazy to do anything more substantial.

My ACM is officially back in business! Did a spontaneous celebratory evening ride, just randomly curving around (ended at 40km) and taking photos occasionally. Nice warm evening weather after today's almost summery heat. Here are some pictures (apologies to anyone on mobile or with metered connections, but this is the Photo Thread). -- The route (clockwise). Going to the river (top part), south along it, around some lakes you can see there (the dark spots), and back home again. River view from the trees. (It's behind those trees) Looking south (upstream). Nearby park where another river meets it. Some nice flowers. Love locks overlooking the water. Lots of fishing going on today. Rivers meet here. Some time later, a nice side route along the way. Gravel banks. Dam. View a bit further upstream. Passing a boat ramp. Hard to see in a picture, but wonderful milky blue water color (from the sand). These pictures are at the biggest lake. Had these motives in an earlier post already. Nice sunset colors. Sunset Shortly after taking the two sunset pictures, I got my best reaction to date. A guy saw me coming from a bit away, and he did not only smile and nod in approval, he actually clapped In the twilight at some of the smaller lakes. Hm, also man braucht keine Zulassung (sagt Grosskopf) aber benutzen darf mans trotzdem nicht ohne Führerschein oder aufm Radweg? Wieso ist jetzt eigentlich ein ebike kein KFZ bzw. wenn es eines ist, wieso darf man das dann aufm Fahrradweg benutzen? Oder war das Problem mit dem Fahrradweg nur dass es über 25 war (was jeder normale Radfahrer dauernd überschreitet)? -- Wie wärs mit Folgendem: wir schauen, dass wir ein paar Dutzend wheeler mit Führerschein kriegen, die treffen sich alle in Berlin, und fahren mit 15km/h oder weniger im Berufsverkehr auf den Strassen, natürlich nebeneinander (freie Spurwahl in der Stadt). Fahrradweg geht ja anscheinend nicht! Ziel: maximale Staus und Verzögerungen erzeugen. Das so lange (natürlich mit Vorabinformation an die Medien: "Heute gibts in Berlin Verkehrschaos! Dank bitte an die Regierung.") bis ein Politiker mal was tut. Wobei, das endet nur in mehr Verboten, siehe PLEV. Vielleicht sollte man tatsächlich Reichsbürger werden. Zumindest würde man dann erstmals ernstgenommen

Old location, new picture of a nice Alps view. Back on the (semi-repaired) wheel after a few weeks of perfect weather just right when it broke. I did a 25km ride home yesterday and then a test ride today. Unfortunately, my tube suddenly exploded 15 km in. Fortunately, this was less worse than I thought it would be. A bang and then you just coast to a stop, but with good control, no danger of losing balance. Also fortunately, it happened quite close to home, but it was still a 30 min carry operation instead of a 5 min ride, because carrying means going 5 km/h instead of 30 You can see on the map how lucky/unlucky (depending on how you see it) I was. Ways to carry a wheel: Left hand. Right hand. Both hands. On your head. With your belt as a carrying strap and your sweater as a cushion for that on your shoulder. Didn't try "on your back" as the wheel was so dusty. It's no fun either way and you have to alternate a lot But I got the attention of a guy on a bike who asked me the usual questions about EUCs after an initial "WTF is that?!?" seeing me with the thing on my head.

Dann hast Du von meiner Seite kein Mitleid, und außerdem schmeisst Du uns alle mit unter den Bus, weil die sich dann (fälschlicherweise) im Recht fühlen. Folgendes: Erstens die Anwältin über Grosskopf informieren (Google: "informativ 76 Polizei NRW" darin wird es referenziert, dann kann sie es finden). EUCs sind keine KFZ und es gibt wohl keinerlei Regulierung bezüglich EUCs in D. Alles was die Polizei/Staatsanwaltschaft behauptet, ist demnach kompletter Unsinn. Zweitens: Dienstaufsichtsbeschwerden gegen alles was nicht bei drei auf den Bäumen ist (sinnlos, aber trotzdem). Polizisten, weil sie dir irgendwas unterstellen (Uneinsichtigkeit). Staatsanwalt, weil er sich einfach mal selber die Rechstlage ausdenkt. Drittens: Strafanzeige wegen Verfolgung Unschuldiger gegen alles was nicht bei drei auf den Bäumen ist. Ist wohl zwar unhaltbar (weil nicht absichtlich), aber machen kann man es trotzdem, dann müssen sie erstmal drauf reagieren. Details kann dir die Anwältin sagen, wenn Du sie schon hast. Ggf. die Anzeigen auch in der Dienstaufsichtsbeschwerde erwähnen bzw. androhen. Ist das zuviel verlangt, dass die StA die Rechstlage kennt, anstatt erstmal wild irgendwelche Leute zu verfolgen??? Muss ja ne ziemlich beschissene Anwältin sein, wenn sie dir nicht sagt, dass sie das Ding nicht einfach beschlagnahmen dürfen. Da braucht es eine akute Gefahr oder sowas, "das passt uns nicht, wir behalten das erstmal" reicht nicht. Kann mir schwer vorstellen, das das so wie beschrieben in Ordnung war, insbesondere wenn sie es erst Monate später plötzlich haben wollen. Ggf. auch schauen was man da an Strafanzeigen machen kann. Ganz ehrlich, klingt als solltest du dir jemand kompetenteren suchen. Auch bezüglich der restlichen Rechtslage, wieso weiss DIE nix vom Grosskopf und glaubt der Staatsanwaltschaft? Nuja, da du denen das Beschlagnahmen durchgehen lassen hast und jetzt das unterschreiben willst, bist Du wohl mehr jemand, der sich sowas gefallen lässt. Wäre mir eigentlich egal, solange es nur dich betrifft. Aber dann nicht nachher kommen und hier rumheulen. Sorry wenn das jetzt harsch klingt, aber ein Problem hat immer zwei Seiten: diejenigen, die das Problem darstellen, und diejenigen, die sich nicht wehren wenn sie es könnten. Das trifft dann die, die sich ggf. nicht wehren können (hier: weil sie sich den Rechtsweg nicht leisten können, oder einen sensiblen Job haben wo schon irgendwelche Verfahren ein Problem sein könnten selbst wen die nachher eingestellt werden, oder weil es für sie aus persönlichen Gründen zu viel ist, oder was auch immer). Welche ist die zuständige Staatsanwaltschaft?

Everyone here who got this had it dismissed in the end. Just don't pay anything. "Im Folgenden wird Ihnen Gelegenheit zur Äußerung gegeben" = "You will have an opportunity for comment" - not sure what it exactly means, but guess you'll get another letter? Or is there any reply form with this letter? Also, interesting, they say there is no insurance for EUCs so this automatically makes this illegal, but that's false according to Grosskopf (who says EUCs don't fall under any regulated category in DE). "Rechtliches zu Monowheels als Information beigefügt" = legal information about EUCs is attached!! Can you make a picture so we know what their opinion on the matter is? Could be helpful to know what they think. Probably making stuff up and hoping everyone will put up with it. Completely agree with your comments about this fucking country Oh well, gotta fight this. At least you have the right attitude.

(Sry for offtopic) Ever since I learnt how even a seemingly harmless phone in your pocket can become a murderous weapon against your body in a crash, I'm very cautious about such things. No keys in the pockets or anything hard anywhere I could fall on it, etc. Already got something better for that Sounds more substantial (and local).

Sure, if you want to rip your finger off in a crash! Glue a bell onto your wrist guards, fine, but this is just asking for a nasty injury. @Rehab1 What would you think would have happened in your crash if you had that bell on and it got caught in a small irregularity in the pavement or something similar? I would never dare to wear something like that.
