  1. It's a selfish request, but as ENVY BURNING WITH THE HEAT OF A THOUSAND SUNS (or something alike) was mentioned here recently, that's what I'm feeling a bit
  2. I don't know. Maybe they lie (in some way). Maybe it is 800W on paper but feels much more stronger in reality. Maybe the wheel is an absolute joke. Maybe something else? I don't know. All I know that @Jason McNeil's initial impressions seem to have been quite good. So time to wait and hope for the best
  3. It looks nice, but: Must be the least ergonomic design I've ever seen. Your ankles and shins sure will love those metal bars Especially in connection with the moving suspension. Cushions are for women! Useless extra weight? Sure! Barely any space for battery. A wheel like this can't have only 800Wh or so. Pedals might as well be made from ice, as slippery as they look. (Ok, might be an afterthought in this early concept phase.) The motorsport/automotive/combustion engine design style is just off. Electric unicycles are different and should have their unique look, determined by their technical design, and not look like some unspecified part of an old motorbike fell off. The Ninebot One Z is showing the way in this respect (one does not have to like its design, but it is not a derivative of something unrelated). No fake cooling grills, pistons, ... , please. For real offroad (mountains, going up and particularly down steep inclines) 18 inches might be too unwieldy? I'd instinctively go with 16 inches instead for torque and controllability (less is too small for bumps and general unevenness). So in my view, good call Inmotion didn't build this. While I love the general concept of an extreme offroad/power wheel, this would have needed a massive amount of further development (euphemism for "Start again, and make sense this time!") to get a realistically good result (it is an early concept, I don't blame it for its shortcomings, but it's more like a concept on what to avoid). In fact, the V10(F) is already halfway there. All is needed is doubling down: V10 is basically the V8 shell (widened) with the tire pushed downwards out of it, to give greater pedal height. (I'm getting the impression the side panel molds from the V8 were reused and the design was made to accomodate this). So? Push the tire 5cm further out of the shell. Even higher pedals and ground clearances. That also gives more space for battery on the top. Make the body wider so the sides can have batteries too like most other wheels, and that's plenty of space for these sweet Wh. It's already 16 inches with a strong motor. Make it even stronger (and wider?) if you like. Evolve electronics, cables etc. for even higher stresses. Add suspension (might be easier said than done). Or skip it and go with big, high friction, easily leg-grabbable side cushions for better hold on the pedals when needed. That would work better than the above concept. Call it V12 and call it a day By the way, @Bobwheel really great to have company representatives (the bosses, even) have such good community involvement!
  4. Since the wheel body itself (= the gyro sensor) isn't suspended, not necessarily. Everything should work as usual, at least in theory. The only thing to test is whether the suspension can produce self-reinforcing oscillations in forward backward tilt due to some automatic reaction by the rider, so if that creates some kind of wobble, maybe an adaption is needed to prevent uncomfortable riding that the suspension/rider might mechanically introduce. @Joey Serrin did some self-builds with suspension, and I don't think he did (or even could) modify the firmware.
  5. Since he has TWO ACM2s, @Marty Backe how about taking one up the overheat hill?
  6. Pretty sure the lie for regulation reasons. We know 20km/h isn't going to be true. The unique form factor and design still is neat. Compact, wide, nice! But the pedals are definitely too low, in these cirles the guy does in the video, they already nearly touch the ground. Offroad that isn't going to work very well.
  7. Wow these pedals look huge. Are they also longer than the standard GW/KS other ones? Length counts more than width here. And the tire is huge as well. Looks like an 18 incher next to the 16S.
  8. Haha I got as far as you did. 1st page says 580, 860, 1000Wh so 530 might be off. Just trying to find out how many Ps the different Zs have, to maybe explain the different motor W numbers.
  9. You're right, these W numbers are suspiciously low either way. And theoretically: the 1680Wh KS18S can do around 67.2V*8(parallel packs)*10A(per cell) = 5376W max, so around 3600W theoretical maximum isn't thaaaaaaat huge as it may seem. I guess you'll never reach those numbers in real life, but theoretically you maybe could (probably the motor would melt down soon). I can get my ACM to 30A (at least that is what the app says) which is 84V*30A = 2520W usage going up steeper hills, so big numbers can come up. For now, the initial impressions on the Z seem to be good, so whatever the real motor wattage is, if it works... I really don't think it will be weaker than a S2 @US69 Do you know what the battery configuration for 530Wh, 867Wh, 995Wh is?
  10. Because it absolutely makes no sense for this kind of wheel to have such a weak motor. 800W/58.8V = 13.6A. 995Wh seems to be 14S6P with 3200mAh cells (really not sure about this, no idea about the other sizes, can't get the numbers to work) so even 60A would theoretically work. 60V*60A = 3600W! Though looking at that table (can't read Chinese though), maybe it really is 800W nominal? Would have to feel completely different from the 800W motors we are used to, much more torque etc (it's 18 inches after all!) so it feels much stronger than other 800W motors. Now I'm confused Maybe these W numbers are no longer comparable with different motor builds? Or they report low numbers for some purposes? What is the 20km/h thing? We know the wheels will go faster.
  11. Looks very well built! Love the gasket under the handle and the general "closedness". And if I ever need a wheel for drug running, I'm going to get the V10 Is this a joke/preproduction number? This instantly makes the V10(F) go from potential mountain powerhouse to... well, not so much that. Why not 40A (it has a 4P battery after all) or 60A or some better number? Maybe I'm expecting too much? Marty, consider wearing your full face helmet when you test it on your hill of death, in case you join @Jrkline "Wheel Whisperer"'s club.
  12. That kitschy plastic fawn and the Spanish inquisition pedals sure make this photo not creepy at all Well, congratulations on riding again.
  13. So cool when you recognize most of the people from other videos!
  14. @Jason McNeil Any plans for a V10F+ with 1020Wh/1036Wh (3500mAh cells), maybe when/if the battery prices calm down a bit? Kind of a low hanging fruit. Though maybe the difference to the V10F isn't worth it? Asking since you have a proven track record of getting Inmotion to release + models
  15. Looks nicer without neon green grass and red skin Pretty sure it's the French physical stores costing a lot of money (imagine that rent right next to Notre Dame where eroue is), so that's why they hike their monopoly prices in France. It's not VAT as it's nearly the same as in Germany (20% vs 19%) and other EU countries (except Nordic countries getting shafted). Also, there is some kind of import tax from China on the order of 30%, as far as I've heard. No idea about the details or if that's indeed true. With electronics (iPhones etc) having no import tolls to the U.S. at all, I assume that applies to EUCs too as they are "electronics". But in the end, seems manufacturers themselves just hiked prices (e.g. 1400 GBP for a 1300Wh ACM2 vs. 1500 GBP for a 1020Wh Tesla) as well - maybe battery costs, maybe just wanting more money. There are (at least) 3 physical shops in Paris that sell EUCs (eroue, urban360, gyroroue-shop). As far as buying from other EU shops, in theory that's completely true and one of the 4 basic freedoms in the EU. But the manufacturers apparently threaten dealers if they sell to other EU countries that already have a local licensed dealer. Highly illegal, but looks like it's happening anyway. That's why they can price-hike in the first place, I guess How about instead of "In God we trust", "In Gotway we trust". It's even true (because what other choice is there to trust the wheel not to fail and faceplant you)
  16. Speedyfeet prices (including all taxes): V10: 1400 GBP = 1620€ V10F: 1700 GBP = 1960€ Funnily enough, even the French are cheaper (1500€/1800€). U.S. prices (excluding non-existent taxes): V10: 1300 US$ = 1050€ V10F: 1600 US$ = 1300€ Difference: V10: +55% V10F: +50%
  17. 1450€ French price!!!!!! For a 650Wh 14 incher!!!! WTF Sure, it may be nice and strong, but... Makes rest-of-EU prices look reasonable.
  18. Funny how "car hits scooter" becomes "injuries involving electric scooters" like it's due to the scooter. While it doesn't state that, I'm sure that's 90% of actual noteworthy accidents. And some idiot stumbling over a nonmoving scooter on a sidewalk is just hysteria. What's next? "Grandma gets leg scratched by bike pedal, let's ban bikes"?
  19. That's not about the scooters themselves, though. It's about rental scooter fleets being parked on sidewalks everywhere.
  20. Very nice video! How long is that hill of death (riding time for going up without stopping)? How long uphills (uninterrupted riding time) was the longest you've done on this ride?
  21. Cool! Wondering why they do that NOW, though, when apparently production has started (?), instead of in the first place. Do you know of any test failures/mountain fryings or such that appeared recently and might have motivated this?
  22. Agree. If you run into someone braking/stopping/doing whatever, you haven't been keeping enough distance for your speed. So the wheel guy could mayyyyyybe have had some more situational awareness on this close quarters ride, but in the end, he was in front. And I'm not even saying this in false EUC solidarity
