I just watched it again, didn't notice the first time that he was riding blindfolded next to a ledge without railings. When the woman saw that, she freaked out and pulled him to safety, then he took off the blindfold and saw how close he was to going over the edge, and he freaked out, too. I will have to google that woman, she was fine Paulette Goddard. I don't care if they used matte paintings and movie tricks, the skill was there! I am always surprised that I never cease to think that he can't make it before he just does catch the turn.
