I love my C+ but....... P calling ?????

A bit of background....

I cut my skills (well, commuting, hardly a genius/trick master, but I can start, stop, and keep upright at 3km/h while following pedestrians through London & jump on & off small pavements) on a generic 14", and decided more range & speed was needed.

I plumped for a Freeman A4H (348wh) version which was basically a faster & bigger battery version of my generic. I had all sorts of issues initially & went through a few main boards, but while waiting I picked up a used C+. Typically, they day I picked it up, I got the issues with the Freeman sorted so then had 3 wheels.

The speed of the Freeman is great, but the C+ feels sooooo much smoother & is better to ride on some of the rutted pavements along the side of the Thames I use.

So I starting looking to replace the A4H & the C+.  Unintentionally when looking at Gotways (MCM4) I was offered a brand new MSuper Carbon (850wh) at a price I really couldn't turn down (so I now have 4 wheels.... :o), but I rode the MSuper in for the last 2 days, and the bruises I have on my legs (just from riding) are insane & painful !  It's a BEAST of a machine, but it's built like a tank & weighs the same (no trolley handle yet). I jumped back on the C+ this morning to give my legs some relief & it's a real delight !  It's so light on it's "feet" and as nimble as my 14" and is just so easy to ride around London.

I'm now thinking that although the MSuper is a proper monster for range & speed (I've hit 31km/h once without really trying and have only charged it once in 4 journeys - the C+ is charged for each journey), it's not the right wheel for London commuting (it's just too darn big & heavy !).  I'll pad it up this weekend & give it a few more days, but there is a part of me thats wondering about a P.  There are a couple of guys on here selling them, and I know there have been issues with shut downs, but if they are as good as my C+ (I can't see why it wouldn't be?), but with a bit more top end punch, I think it's my ideal wheel !

Does anyone have a P, old or new, what were/are the issues and for a sensible rider, are they viable ?

Thanks guys !

@Oily, Ninebot One P, today remains the best wheel in the world. It has the best battery in the world. It has the best design and ergonomics of all wheels. It has the most comfortable telescopic handle and parking. It has the lowest weight among analogs. I think we should not talk about the most advanced program of all wheels. The wheel has protection against water and sealed the engine.
The problem is only one - it is sold only in Russia :-)
You can see wheel in work here:

Comparison with KingSong A16

If you want, I'm selling you Ninebot One P (with mileage 1300km.) With a guarantee from the factory until December of this year. For the price of $ 1000 + shipping.

@Oily If you are interested in a very agile 14" wheel with a perfect power/weight ratio from a responsibly manufacturer, you should have a look at the new Inmotion V5F+. Once you rode it, it is an eye opener. Have a look at the brand specific Forum for details. It is available in London at Wheelgo.com. Maybe you can testride it there!

Don´t throw money out of the window for discontinued wheel and start beta testing Ninebot products for free. There are already enough voluntary testers out there!

@Oily

I agree with Fahrtwind. You should avoid the P now that it is discontinued - you want to buy a wheel from a secure source - be it the factory or an authorised distributor. Not a randomer where you won't be 1000% sure which control board etc you're getting. And you don't want to be worrying about parts/replacements etc.

The in motion v5f+ looks great, or if 14inch is too small the Lhotz is lovely. If money no object, perhaps the ks16 too.

I took delivery of my P in June this year. My P was manufactured in May 2016 and has the new board version 1.3.2. Like yourself I commute a lot around London streets and the P does the job just fine. Ive had no issues with the P whatsoever and i do like to push it when its safe to do so. Regarding the battery size, well you will get roughly the same kind of mileage as the E+. As i use my wheel a lot i find having to charge it often so I've decided i will be purchasing the 388/708WH battery kit for the ninebot one from "1radwerdstatt" in Germany. If you do get a P then try to get hold of the 2016 models with the new board. Or like the comment above, if money isn't an option then the ks16 will tick all boxes.

@JoeJoe, You're wrong. I communicate with the factory and very experienced experts, who say that the previous model Ninebot One P is better than new. This is my opinion, too, as an experienced specialist. I have both versions of the wheel, and I know whereof I speak.
Besides, you've already made the protection of the water? I did it on both wheels.

@Oily, Do not listen to Fahrtwind and Paddylaz. This envious people.

Wow - that's what i'd call aggressive selling! Amazing how far people go to push their interests

Do you listen yourself talking? Best wheel in the world must have been opend right after you got it brand new to seal it against water? You and your experts say the old version is better. Ok, why do you offer it for sale and keep the new one?

It is sad if someone starts to get agressive and personal... well not my way. Going out for a ride. The weather is so nice!

@Paddylaz I love the look of the Lhotz (as per our previous conversations!) - perhaps we'll have to go for that meet-up again, and I'll bring the MSuper. :)

I'd buy a slightly used wheel, but not one with 1300km on it - sorry @master255

KS16 still seems to have random shut down issues, and I don't really want to risk that on a commuting wheel - I need something I can trust......

Don't see the point upgrading to an E+ for the sake of 3km/h.....

I know people who can sell and the new version even cheaper than I sell the old one.
You do not understand the meaning of what I'm writing at all.
I am selling a proved wheel in perfect condition. It is much more valuable than a new wheel from the factory. This means that the buyer will not fall with him because of defective parts. Other than that I am the first customer in Russia and I'm not just a man from the street.

@Oily, Ninebot One P can not be compared with Lhotz or MSuper3. Ninebot One P - for the city, and Lhotz or MSuper - for trips to the woods or countryside, where more important ability for cross-roads and battery charge, but not for the city!
1300km. - Is just the beginning for this wheel. I drove them for 4 months. You need to understand correctly mileage of monowheels.

On the new Ninebot One P Now I have mileage 700 km.
difference 600 km.  I will riding in month.

@Paddylaz, imagine what it would be if you talk to me in Russian :-D
No offense. But I once also choose between Lhotz and Ninebot One P. Only after chose the P, realized that I was wrong when I compared them. Lhotz - it is quite another wheel. It least qualitatively, has no trolley handle. There is a very tight opening pedal. It is not very maneuverable tire wheel. It hasn't metal frame, as in Ninebot One P. And has many disadvantages.

@Planetpapi I looked at the Zero too.  You just laid out the timeline of wheel improvements:)  It almost seems like buying a car, next years model will be better in some way, but if you find one you like, like the Ninebot One E+, or another high quality wheel, you can wait longer to decide to get a new one.  I really like the specs and look of the Inmotion V5F+, but it is 14 inch tire and that was holding me back.  Just today read they are coming out with a 16 inch wheel.  Decisions, decisions:huh:
