Upgrading Kingsong s22 motor to 4000w - MAN ITŚ GOOD (DIY-PRO)

Finn Bjerke

Recommended Posts

From Aliexpress I got 4000W motor with tire and upgraded my 3300W  motor on the Kingsong s22 - so maybe I can call it Kingsong s22 pro-deluxe-stealth-DIY or something.

Anyways: The wheel is so much more fun now, the Torque is insane. I cant stop riding this thing - I have other EUCs I love. The new Kingsong s22 DIY-Pro is so lively it has range and speed aint bad either - I feel like torque from 16" and speed from a 18" so to speak. Working on s22 is easy compared to my v11 which is a bloody nightmare. What is also a positive suprice is that the overall livelyness and Torque also manifests itself a lot when I do seated riding.

No you dont need CC upgrade in order to upgrade the motor.

Man, I am jealous. My reseller promised the 4K motor at $250 and then reneged and asked for full price. Will not be doing business with those folks anymore. Maybe I will get one when the tax returns comes in. Good to know that the torque issue has been addressed.

aliens sold me a pro 4000 watt motor for $100.

Good to know. I was planning on buying a Commander Mini from them in December so I will ask if they can cut me a deal.

once i overhaul my s22, ballbearing sliders and michelin tire, it sb awesome! lynx killer maybe.

It will be interesting to hear from you as how you will rank your V13's, your modified S22, and the new Lynx when you get it, for riding on your pasture.

Us, but that's not the whole story...  There's been four different version of this S22 motor, he didn't want the gen 3. Some perspective on free upgrades/parts already shipped out in the past nine months, amneisa can be a common affliction:
- Already sent a Replacement S22 motor prior
- Set of replacement RS battery packs
- S22 charger + controller
- Free V11 motor for a 3 year old machine
- S22 handle-kit, bumper set, rails
At some point, one has to say, I'm sorry you're going to have to pay...
Yeah, it's complicated, for that offer in August, it was a Gen 3, of course we can honour that price for the last gen, but we had to pay a bunch of extra $$$ for this last batch with steel core & the tire + installation as well.

Oh I forgot I have upgraded the ballbearing sliders myself, without it suspension is terrible.

Also when I look at this construction I wonder how long thise wheel will live before new repairs is needed.

YEs it seems there is some 4000W wheels that are noisy in a bad way, there a different generations of that wheel.  Check this video out also:

I purposely did not state the name of the business because I am not here to slander or throw anyone under the bus... but since shots have already been fired let me clarify a bit -

- Already sent a Replacement S22 motor prior - The S22 was first batch that came with a non-pinned motor
- Set of replacement RS battery packs - The replacement battery packs for a MSP_HT were sent after several requests were denied
- S22 charger + controller - Two chargers failed within the first year / The controller exploded when the non-pinned motor imploded
- Free V11 motor for a 3 year old machine - The first motor had the incorrectly glued bolts which was a known issue with some of first  batch V11s
- S22 handle-kit, bumper set, rails - Also part of the non-pinned motor imploding and dumping me

amnesia can be a common affliction - so true LOL :)

well, went to bed last night thinking all my wheels are working well, and i pick up my phone and i have alerts from my s22 from wednesday that i overstressed or overleaned the unit.first time seeing that notification. i'm guessing it didn't like climbing my hill. so definitely a good thing i'm changing out the motor and tire. i don't mind the knobby, but the michelin will be stronger.

as far as riding my pastures, a 16" motor or 22" tire is better than a 14" motor and 20" tire. as i have mowed and bladed my path now across my pensacola bahia pastures, (u know, grass is a general term, there's lots of different kind of grasses, rye for instance, is very slippery, where pensacola is not). my "trail" is like a washboard. like a longer boat does better in chop, the larger diameter wheel bridges over the corrugations better. the 20" tire dances around alot. if ur looking for an exciting, peppy ride, choose the 20", if u just want to get from point a to point b, take the larger diameter wheel. pavement doesn't matter, although with the tight fenders and the knobs picking up debris, i prefer the michelin tire. it doesn't pick up loose aggregate, acorns, sticks, cactus, etc etc etc. the only time a knobby might be marginally better out here, is when the trail is tightly mowed and wet, and wet leaves on the pavement.

so the lynx should have adequate power, but the 20" wheel will make it suck for pasture use. if i was a chooch and had access to my pasture and just wanted to play, it would be a great wheel. a 9bot s1 works on my road.

been at this since 2017. back then everybody on the forum said i wouldn' be able to use these advanced one wheel hoverboards in my pastures, finally after 6 years, the v13 arrived. like i've said many many many times, only two surfaces i travel on, pretty much flat old type 3 asphalt with loose aggregate popping thru, and my hard, sugar sand based pensacola bahia pastures, with elevation changes of 30'. not a big hill at all and the s22 tire is at 45psi, like 4 over max.

really don't like those s22 warnings on my phone. i wanted to test my s22 amateur before putting in the 4000 watt motor. i'll park it until all the repairs are made and not use it in the pasture anymore. it's doable on a 20" wheel, and fun and challenging, but if ur objective is to go from point a to point b as fast and safely as possible, i'll take a v13.

idk about the lynx. my v13's suspensions, handle my pasture amazingly well. it's total washboard. i can't imagine the fastace suspension being better, and with the 20" tire, t would be fun, but not the rock steady v13.

actually, what i should do is lower the tire pressure on one of the knobbys to 5 psi below max, 35psi, and that would be great on my tightly mowed paths. and not use that wheel on my pavement. i don't like wobbles.

"At some point" ... is when exactly? Can we expect one replacement only, even if the replacement part fails? How long are replacement parts warranted?

Seems like this is a situation where better communication and management of expectations are/were needed.

I think your point is valid, of course. We need our dealers to be profitable and healthy [to want] to stay in the game. For that, however, you, the dealer, need a lot of satisfied customers. Personally, I hope you make another effort to work out a solution for @gon2fast.

does anybody know if the michelin pilot street 2 will fit on a s22 4000 watt motor rim tubeless? if u have done it, what valve did u use? and if not, what innertube did u use? my new motor arrives tmrw.

changing out the motor and overhauling the wheel looks very easy.

I purchased these ^^^ as well.

Per @fbhb: "The City Grip 2 is ONLY available in 90/90-14, but I have it on good authority (Franco on Telegram) that it fits the S22 without any clearance issues."

there are 5g antennae situated all around me, but this super regional shopping center and the interstate just overwhelms the towers. but dropping down to lte, made all the difference in the world, because everyone else is using 5g. thanks.

size comparison of the v13 stock knobby and the michelin going on this motor.

i just prefer the bigger wheels. maneuverabilty isn't important. straightline and not getting thrown off by gusty winds coming across my wide open field is.

u can see from the path i've mowed up to the top of the hill. not california but enough to make my ankle throb walking and throw error codes on the s22 amateur.

btw, edward scissorhands was filmed next door because tim burton liked our clouds.

"Unfortunately" this is the Gen3 motor not the Gen4, you can tell by the "HH", Gen4 has GF.

Main changes:

On Gen4 Axle is made of steel instead of aluminum, it won't rub against the oil seal

On Gen4 the oil seal is hidden behind the cover instead of being exposed, lower risk of water intrusion.

Power delivery is the same.

that was fun and easy! first tire i ever mounted.

yeah, i thought the motor weighed more than the ten pound shipping label when i was toting it back on a v13.

all done. tmrw will be the real test to see if i can discern 4000watts from 3300watts.

i definitely notice a huge improvement in suspension. like i had none before. really really, smooth. tmrw i play with the springs and shocks.

Not sure why you run that much air pressure, I found 35 is really nice with street or dirt tire.

notice COLD, is in caps. so u sb checking ur tires first thing in the morning. i bet ur actually about 32psi.

how much do u weigh? these markings on ALL tire sidewalls are there for a reason

i like to run the tires properly inflated because traction is not a problem and i don't won't to overtax the batteries/motor with a soft tire. try pushing a wheelbarrow, now deflate the tire and try again, it's pretty much common sense.

so, my s22 now with the michelin pilot street 2.

so my wheel probably weighs 75 pounds now, about 15 less than a lynx. so i could have a payload of 300 pounds. that's me, my protective gear, and anything i'm retrieving from my gate(carrying packages is what i do). i'm about 200 max now fully cold weather protected riding weight, so i could carry 100 pounds without unnecessary sidewall deflection(one of the causes of wobbles, which i never get, never got, because i inflate my tires properly.

much, much, harder to learn how to ride on a properly inflated tire, why all the wheel gurus tell noobs to deflate their tire for learning, but they never learn how to balance/ride a properly inflated tire per the tire manufacturers and wheel manufacturers.

if u inflate ur knobby on ur s22 to 41psi, whatever the sidewall marking says, u will have difficulty riding. but u will increase speed and range.

notice where my pedals are. this puts my leg in the center of the wheel.

i like to go fast and i don't use pads for acceleration or braking.

although i did glue the s22 top bumper back on for protection in case i drop it. nope, they fell off. guess i won't be using bumpers.

btw, after installing this tubeless tire and inflaing it to 60psi, i dropped it down to 50psi, and it hadn't lost a drop since thursday. go tire, good valve. the way they should be built. s22 pro max! lynx killer!
