WraithWheel, a custom electric unicycle

Alien Rides

Recommended Posts

Very nice! Almost too pretty and delicate to ride.

What's the tube from the backpack? Drinking tube? What's the ruff/shield around the rider's neck/collar? Some kind of motorcycle safety shield thing?

The helmet is cool, too, with the blue (neon?) strips. Make/model please:efefe00999:

Not asking how much wheel, mods, and outfit cost altogether. I don't even want to know:efee8319ab:

By the way, I really like how you keep your videos short. With so many things to watch (EUC-related or not), it's nice if some one doesn't waste your time. Not saying that longer videos necessarily waste time, but often they are needlessly long for the information content.

Thanks for mentioning that. I’m still trying to find the sweet spot as far as duration goes so this is helpful. I try to keep most things short, but occasionally upload a more raw cut. Sometimes people like the longer uncut footage and just want to put it up in the background. I find that most folks find the shorter, information dense videos, more interesting.

It always depends on the kind of video.

For the Halloween costume ride, nobody would have complained to see more scenes of people riding and their different costumes. In fact, I'd have liked to see every single costume focused in a quick shot. 15 minutes, so what? That's what the video is for. Even then, a 5 minute "summary" like you did is probably better if you want most people to watch to the end. You're right that you can alwas add longer alternatives, as long as you edit them a little bit, no raw footage dumps.

And for a video like this one that doesn't really have lots of information, 2-3 minutes is perfect.

Anyways, again, you always respect people's time, you say what you want to say and that's it. I noticed that as a plus of your videos:) E.g. your msuper frying videos, short and succinct:thumbup:

That doesn't mean longer videos that show "everything" are bad. I love to see someone do a EUC repair for 45 minutes or a 1h ride. But it's a different thing, information (short video) vs. more immersive (longer video).

Great idea, I'll definitely suggest it! 😅 Maybe we could all use a little smoke coming out from our shells. 🤔🤔🤔

Does this qualify as wheel-porn? B)

Noticed that the builder/architect was @SuperSport, and the helmet light kit appears to be a Lightmode Neutron S which I have coveted for quite a while now.

I really like the suit and overall aesthetic: it's perfect for the coming zombie apocalypse. :w00t2:

We are honored that you would say that this is wheel-porn, I'm not aware of a higher accolade. Yeah, I believe that's the correct light set, and it's REALLY awesome at night or low light conditions. Definitely one of the coolest helmet mounted sets you can buy.

Definitely, we need to get a whole squad of unicycle power rangers to defend us, working on it!

"Oh cool, a full face helmet with fancy lights for $129... oh wait, that's only the light." Thanks for the link. One of these shiny, unneeded things that are hard to not buy:wub:

Part 2 is up! This is just a simple slideshow of the painting process. Next up we'll show a bit of the build process.

There was a lot of demand for parts 3 and 4 and I'll be releasing early cuts to backers on Patreon if you're interested. All of the content will eventually be public, but if you'd like to support us and get early access, you're welcome to here: https://www.patreon.com/AlienRides

Definitely does not look like a plastic toy, it's a high quality automotive paint job. Very cool, but not sure I could bring myself to ride it because it's so nice! 😅

Here's part 3 of the WraithWheel series. It covers a very small part of the build.

Very cool video. I love seeing a bunch of guys coming together working on a single wheel like that. So much nicer than doing this by yourself.

Love the mod
