  1. A used EUC might be the best option. If you can get a V10F under your price limit, that's good, too. I wouldn't go for an mten, while it would certainly work, the small tire isn't ideal for commuting.
  2. When the wheel is off: is the tire rotating freely (well, normally), or does it seem "locked" in place? The latter would indicate a fried board that is shorting the motor. That's the first thing that to comes to mind, especially as you mention it died on a hill.
  3. Sorry, I don't think many e-scooter people read this forum. This forum is about electric unicycles, we just have an e-scooter forum because someone once asked and it seemed like a good idea. It's pretty dead though. But better than nothing, and I guess a little bit of valuable information is there. Not sure where else you could ask your questions. Maybe here https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters ? Not sure if there are any good e-scooter communities.
  4. I'm losing the overview of all these Inmotion planned wheels. But that's good!
  5. Please post in English here: Google Translate:
  6. Hmm, that's a bit lame of them. Sure, protective gear is supposed to break before the rider does. But it shouldn't be that fragile! A learning drop on grass shouldn't break it.
  7. They already developed and built it, and did a photo shoot! A lot of effort/money seems to have already been spent on this. I sure hope Inmotion isn't doing bad enough to depend on Kickstarter backing. I guess they do it to get publicity/gauge interest? Or maybe the Kickstarter is just an AI hallucination (The website still seems so fake, has anybody checked with known Inmotion contacts if this is real?) The entire thing seems a bit out of date, or clueless. A Kickstarter in 2024? Throwing tons of new models at the wall and seeing what sticks (presumably, from their list of announcements)? One would think at this stage a manufacturer knows what works and what doesn't. Well, I support anything they do as long as it doesn't bankrupt the company, so good luck to them! Maybe for the initial few minutes of learning, a double wheeler will entice people into EUCs before they try a real one. Yea, that seems to be the problem (Great post of yours, though, and I agree - if it helps teach newbies, that alone would make this worth it).
  8. I put this into its own topic. All you Inmotion haters (and legitimatecriticizers), this is the place for you - I can't make any excuses for technical issues they seem to have with each(?) new model. But I'm happy they do something like the E20, even if I think it's stupid and imho they should offer a modern version of the V5 instead (well, maybe that's also coming?).
  9. @FunkyPlease let's stay on topic. 18-20kg wheels are not as easy to carry and are not what this thread is about I believe the i5 was 8kg. The lightest wheel you could build while still being useful/practical (it had a 14 inch tire, after all! One of the standard sizes back then).
  10. I think the question is: mten3 or i5? Small and round-ish, or flat flat flat over everything else? One form factor (mten3) is good for riding and not overly good for carrying. It's a more general type of wheel. One form factor (i5) is fantastic for carrying and about-acceptable for riding. Feels way more specialized than an mten3 which is a general as-small-as-reasonaby-can-be fun wheel.
  11. Wasn't the i5 the first wheel to use 21700s? With high discharge cells like the Samsung 50S, this type of wheel really could make a comeback and not suck/be too weak. It was always about the amount of power you could expect from a small battery like this.
  12. Source (also some more discussion can be found in that topic): The i5 was mediocre to ride, but it was really awesome to carry and potentially put in a backpack! I wouldn't have needed it often, but there were some occasional train rides where I truly wished I had one to get to/from the station and just easily carry it with me otherwise.
  13. A bigger battery version, the Commander GT PRO+, can be found in this split off topic. The improvements mentioned there will also come to the Commander GT PRO, these are variants of the same wheel.
  14. 4400Wh (shouldn't it be 4440Wh?), nice!! - Offtopic: for anybody getting confused (I sure was) - Extreme Bull wheels with "Commander" in the name Latest "18-20" inch wheels: Commander GT 2400Wh (134V 4p), its higher voltage upgrade Commander GT Pro 3000Wh (168V 4p), and a bigger battery version of that in the Commander GT Pro+ 4440Wh (168V 6p). Older "18-20" inch wheels: Commander Pro 3600Wh (134V 6p), which is named after the original Commander 3600Wh (no suspension, 100V, 8p). Also a "16 inch" wheel: Commander Mini 2400Wh (134V 4p).
  15. Is this real? And why tf is there a kickstarter?
  16. Trust your gut on this. Plenty of people have learned on Masters and heavier wheels and were very happy. But maybe if your initial thought already is that the Master might be too cumbersome for you and a lighter wheel might be more pleasant, that is a sign that you may want to start on a lighter wheel? It's also a question of money - buying one's "forever wheel" right away is cheaper than starting on something else first and then upgrading. And if you have a good offer on a used Master, that is an opportunity you might not want to miss. You won't get better bang for the buck than a Master for 1500, as long as the wheel itself is good - see here on what to look out for (2nd part of the post). My gut feeling is that it sounds you should get that Master (as long as the wheel is ok).
  17. Store it outside where nothing bad can happen if it catches fire!
  18. Mods say: please stay on topic.
  19. This video (from the ever great FortNine Youtube channel) is about motorcycles, but it applies to EUCs just the same. Also at the end, some nice explanation on how tire shape influences turning, which might be interesting for those who tried different tires or who are looking for tires for specific turning behavior.
  20. Mods say: Guys, please stop fighting and stay on topic and abstain from making unfriendly posts or posts that don't help the discussion!
