  1. Because that's 2017/2018 tech with shitty build quality and sometimes questionable electronics. People want performance and capability that should be good enough compared to the current state of the art. The S18 is also one of those wheels that I believe sells (or sold, now that there are better options) very well without many noticing. Looks cool, modern tech, good build, close enough to top performance (at release), cost about 2000. Exactly the same effect I assume for the V11 and V12. Something people can buy that is modern and reasonably priced, works for them, and is not crazy expensive or a waste of money for old weak stuff.
  2. I believe it. You can pay crazy prices of 3000 and (way) above for a peak performance wheel. You can pay around 2000 for a V11 or a bit more for a V12, wheels which are modern and plenty fast and powerful enough with good range, and they have nice build quality and seem to last a while. Or you can pay a significant share of that money for older models or something with laughable performance and range in comparison. Not hard to choose what the best option here is! I assume the T4 also sold well, for the same reason. - I'd really like to see a distribution of prices people pay. "Best selling model" (or not) doesn't say much if you have models available for a fraction of the year or many models in the same category of speed/battery/price. People's price ranges would be more interesting.
  3. If the battery charges to full voltage, that pretty much means it must be good as new. I wouldn't know how it could be otherwise. So certainly no battery problem here (unless you happen to have the bad cells).
  4. The voltage depends on the battery charge state. A full battery (charge to 100% and keep the charger in for longer) should be about 100.8V on an MSP. If you get that, the battery is good. If you get significantly less (especially more than ~4V less) there might be a problem (or it's just your charger). Check that, what is your max voltage when charging? Not sure what EUC World's "low voltage" warning means. A battery loses voltage as it discharges and gains voltage when you recharge again. And since you can recharge and ride, it's not obvious what a permanent "low voltage" warning would mean. A battery that is permanently at a low voltage would be empty and not work. Maybe EUC World also expects a higher voltage? Can you change what wheel model it thinks it connects to? Maybe it's just an app error. You can also open a side panel and look on the sticker on the battery pack. If the cells used are LG M50T (not LG M50LT), then these are dangerous and have caused a few fires. Other cells didn't. Fundamentally, "low voltage" would not lead to a fire. That happens when you overcharge (too high voltage) the battery, or the cells are bad ones (like the M50T). So I would not yet worry about a fire, but it's good to be careful and figure out what (and if) something is wrong with your wheel. - TLDR: check if your battery charges to 100.8V (or somewhere in that area), and check if you have dangerous cells (LG M50T). That's where to start.
  5. That almost sounds too good to be true. I hope it will be!

  7. Begode: "Hey guys, here is our new 134V 2400Wh 16 inch wheel with suspension. No, not the Commander Mini! Another one!" I honestly got confused for a minute before I could parse this But it makes sense as either a Commander Mini alternative with linkage suspension, or as a T4 successor with higher voltage. Or is it a smaller EX30? Cool! Why not! For those getting confused like me, here are all the "16" inchers (meaning almost 18 inch real tire diameter with a 3 inch wide tire): Begode: Extreme, 134V 2400Wh, linkage suspension Commander Mini, 134V 2400Wh, direct shock suspension T4, 100V 1800Wh, linkage suspension Nikola, 100V 1800Wh, no suspension King Song: S16 (rumored), linkage suspension (probably) 16X, 84V 1600Wh, no suspension Veteran: Patton, 126V 2220Wh, direct shock suspension Inmotion: V12, 100V 1800Wh, no suspension V14 (rumored), linkage suspension (supposedly)
  8. Yep, it is unexpectedly competently designed. The front crash bar/grab handle isn't bad at all!
  9. I wish this had better specs. No serious competition for an mten with these specs. You'd think KS had better things to do with their time and engineering resources.
  10. Maybe some connectors have been swapped or are loose? Not sure how far you have to disassemble to change a tire on an S18.
  11. I guess it make sense. The S18 is 1110Wh and 84V after all, so the S19 has to be more than the S18 at 2000. The V12 has no suspension and is around 2500 already. Somehow I expected the S19 to succeed the S18 at the same price, as a GREAT wheel to recommend to new riders who don't want to pay crazy much. Wishful thinking.
  12. I expect can't read and see that this Kingkong (see promo image, it must be a first batch promo image) S19 to be is an S18-update (smaller battery and hopefully better price compared to S22 Pro). Basically an S22 Pro with smaller battery. A more performant S18 for keeping up with the competition sounds good! Also their first 100V wheel (after making a 126V wheel, which seems a bit weird).
  13. The S19 posts from the Patton thread have been moved here. Sorry if it's a bit confusing with the out of order thing now.
  14. Looks like there are some nice improvements! One step closer to a finished product
  15. (Sorry if this is too offtopic, but since nothing is known about the S!6 yet...) Uh, nice! I wonder what that will be. Smaller than S16? Bigger than S22 (Monster/Abrams/Master Pro size)? A newer 20 incher after the S18 and S22? I hope that's true and will work out well. They definitely need that. One wheel per year at most, plus taking forever to fix things when problems arise, can't be sustainable. Yes, good news! I used to wonder about Inmotion before they successfully did the V11 and then all their other performance wheels that showed they meant to stay in the game. Recently I was wondering about KS making it. But I guess they live from their existing lineup (16S, 16X, 18XL, S18), all of which probably still sell decent numbers (my unsubstantiated intuition is that the S18 is quite popular due to its lower price and still delivering everything besides high end range and speed).
  16. I expect it to be at around 3000, maybe a little less. Master is 3000, and this is the same other than the tire size. The competition (or the original if you see it that way), the Veteran Patton, also seems to hover slightly below 3000. Same range as any other 2400Wh wheel (e.g. Master). Top speed is going to be like 80-90% of the Master's (ratio of the tire diameters, which I don't know exactly; with everything else being very similar), but this is the hardest to guess and might be different for some reason. Weight is 35kg (77lbs), see the title of this thread.
  17. Weighs (even) more, and the tire is bigger. In the electric dreams video he says how nice it is to have the more nimble smaller tire of this wheel. At least that's what I want (but more range). Exactly my thoughts!
