  1. Nice! I assume you took advantage of some rather neat discounts that I've seen for this wheel?
  2. @2disbetteris right. The speed limit will always be measured in rpm (unless the manufacturer is unprecedentedly incompetent). Tire size would only be used to compute the speed, but not change it in reality. It would just display wrong. Only real world tire size determines the top speed. You'd need a bigger tire for more speed, and a smaller tire will reduce your top speed. Doesn't matter what the wheel thinks the tire size is.
  3. Mods say: Please stay on topic. No more general weight discussion or other stuff not directly related to this V14!
  4. Is this actually true, or does the loophole still work? Someone from Germany recently posted on reddit that the police told them that EUCs are neither legal nor illegal (aka not covered by law aka that would be legal).
  5. High discharge cells are a good choice on a 2p battery. Much more peak power. You have 80% of the capacity (4000mAh 40T vs. 5000mAh 50E), and maybe you can ride them down a bit more, so I'd expect something like 15% less range (wild guess, worst case is 20% less range in line with the 20% smaller battery size). Not that range matters too much on an mten in most cases.
  6. If this is true: That is a testament to the board! We're at a point where the board is strong enough so the motor (the motor!) fries first. What a change from the old days! Pretty cool. Minus the entire motor frying part... not sure how to fix that. Just make everything even stronger? You think their new C40 motor can take more? Can't wait to hear what exactly broke.
  7. That motor does look nice and very robust! As do the machined structural parts.
  8. EUCs seem to be a grey zone in Germany (self-balancing plus one wheel only does not seem to be covered by any law). Don't just pay fines and accept them.
  9. In theory, they could keep the top speed the same but give you more torque with the increased voltage. That plus the smaller tire diameter would give an immensely oomph-y wheel. Of course they will never compromise speed But they could.
  10. I think the V11 will have better longevity than the V12 (despite being older), precisely because it does have a suspension. The V12 is a really nice wheel, but I wouldn't buy it due to the lack of suspension. It's not a bad choice for IM to "upgrade" the V12 first and make this V14. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be the fastest in designing new wheels, and don't like reusing existing components/designs which would quicken the development process. So I assume they had to choose between the V14 and another 18/20 incher (not both development in parallel), and the decision is probably a year old already (when the V11 was even less old and the T4 was unknown). It does make some sense. But yeah, a "same as the others last year, but with build quality" competitive suspension 20 incher with big battery would have been nice, too. But it's the most crowded market and the V11 exists already. - Semi-OT: @Uras Motor wattage number really don't mean anything on their own. The firmware and geometry of the wheel decide how powerful, zippy, oomph-y, whatever you want to call it behaves in real life. Sure, with a smaller tire will always be easier to use the torque than with a bigger one, but apart from that, only real world comparison can tell. Please don't conclude anything about a wheel from some motor wattage number alone, or dismiss a wheel due to it. 18, 19, and 20 all mean the same, and 16 (Tesla, 16S) and 16 (V12, T4, Nikola, 16X) don't mean the same at all. It's a mess
  11. I agree that this most likely was an outlier and a random hardware failure (production error with the board from the start). In the worst case, it's a new issue, but let's hope not. ewheels certainly wouldn't send out the problematic first batch wheels (that's why I asked for the seller and how old the wheel was). I would also let them send me a new V12 and then expect everything to be good.
  12. Ah crap!! Can you find anything that tells how old the wheel is? Where did you buy from? What is your firmware version?
  13. Maybe that's normal? Or was the red light off usually, and now suddenly it's on?
  14. Interesting linkageless suspension discussion split off:
  15. This is a good discussion and warrants its own topical topic. Split off
  16. There haven't been any complaints about the V12 for quite a while now. This issue definitely seems to be over, apart from the early batch affected wheels that might still be out there. Thread unpinned
  17. 126V is Veteran's next upgrade after 100V! I wonder how long this has been in the works. Begode 134V wheels have existed for a while now. Decent battery size for a 16 incher! Well, it's more than the usual 1800Wh and not quite the really neat 3600Wh, but ok. Comes with the voltage so it's the natural choice.
  18. Samsung 50S - nice! First time we will see high discharge 5000mAh 21700 cells in a wheel. Worried about the price, but what else is new? I wonder why they went for a linkage suspension on this wheel, as opposed to their usual way.
  19. Split off for obvious reasons. Please try to stay on topic and not post bait and distractions.
  20. Maybe you got lucky! According to this Ecodrift article, the V8S has silver strips that are new and not silver on the V8F. Also the Inmotion logo on the side is orange instead of white. I'm not entirely sure they didn't change that (later) for the V8F, though, so the only sure tell is the range you'll get (or you start disassembling). But if the app says it's a V8S, that is very promising
  21. You mean Sherman or Sherman MAX, or is there a further distinction? If it's just the former, the Shermax seems to weigh a little more than the og Sherman. Ecodrift has 39.2kg for the Shermax. Googling the Sherman, it seems to have a weight closer to 35kg. Shermax: Sherman: https://www.google.com/search?q=veteran+sherman+weight
  22. If the clicking noise comes faster when you ride faster, you have something on the tire making that noise. If it doesn't, please give a better description.
