Popular Post Unventor
So today I paid my booking of an Inmotion V14 Adventure 50S 2nd batch+. What the exact batch will be I am not sure just yet either. Exactly when it lands at my doorstep is a bit difficult to know right now. I hope it ships out before Chinese spring holiday (10th February to 17th February). For those that wounder why I bought this model, these 2 links sums it up pretty much Link to other threads. So now I am looking at what tire options I can find. The 2nd batch will have a new "Knobby" street tire. I couldn't get it with the @Jason McNeils E-wheels special tire (h626). The closest I have found to my V11 Heidenau K66 Snowtex tire is the Heidenau K58 Snowtex 90/90-12 M+S. Another option I found is this All-season tires - Mitas MC20 M + S - 90 / 90-12 But since I don't have my V14 50S just yet, I do not knot the exact size this EUC can accommodate. But in my experience the tire is a huge factor to how the ride sensation feels. So once I got my V14 50S I might investigate this further. novazeus
not to steal @Funkyspotlight, but i do wish it was lighter and more doggy door compliant like my s22's. with me mowing trails, so i can see my line and now worry about hidden landmines, the v14 might be a candidate. i can't wait to see and watch all the reviews. Popular Post Unventor
Well I will share more once I get the delivery. But I plan this to be very different review thread to most stuff shared about the V14. This is why I started the thread like I did.I do not ride EUC as a stunt skateboard rider. So don't expect to find me writing about jumps. I will use it more as a commuter and some pleasure rides. Since I hope to be able to change tire relative easy, it means I can easier test different tires until I find a great match to my liking. So with this in mind I am no Fantamos or EUCExtreme or racetrack rider. But expect to find how I view the V14 as a daily ride and how it compares to a V11. I expect there will be superb thing where V14 is amazing, but also some short comings. But I am not going to give fuel to not buy this model, I rather talk about what is great. So if you as reader have question why this could be a good buy for you this is what you might find here. And this is why I do not compare it to other brands, as I have limited experience and access to these other than what I own or did own in the past. So let's keep this thread to what the title says. I will compile a faq style if some have questions. So one of the things I expect to that will challenge me in every day use are these 3 things, weight, trolly function and using pads. The last point is down to I don't ride with pads and especially power pads. Two reasons for this, I want to ride reasonable ant not super aggressive. And in the past I view power pads on old EUCs meant high risk to push the EUC into cutouts. This should not be so easy to do on the V14. So we will see how I adapt to padded riding. Now one thing I can see myself doing is to use 3m dual lock to add the side panel to the barriers rather than using dual sided tape. But more about this once I have the V14 irl. 2
Unventor
@Forwardnbak I just saw your initial video. I see you have the new 2nd batch tire on your V14. Do you mind taking a measure of tire width and how tall the tire wall is?

Unventor
The good news I got is my order is about to ship out. Which means it could exit China before their Spring holiday season. I still do not know how fast the shipping will be. But it is getting closer at least.
Unventor
So now I got tracking id. Eta is about 3 weeks. Not that it makes the waiting any easier 😊. So hopefully we are free of snow still at that time (mid February).
Unventor
With a bit of luck I should have an early Christmas present of 2024. Now I shall not bore you guys with an unboxing. But if you have any question I shall try to answer these to my best ability next week. One thing is though I will ride the V14 above 45 kmh so how it feels above that speed I cannot answer. Depending of weather I might have to wait a little to ride it as it is still snow/icey winter here.
BlueCrow
I would like to hear comments on seated riding on the V14. Haven't heard or seen much on that front. Also, how easy is it to trolly around while powered off?

Also, how easy is it to trolly around while powered off? I understand. I appreciate the question. Unfortunately due to how my knees are due to rheumatic diagnoses I know from having a seat for KS16X and the V11, that this is not possible for ,e to do. I simply do not have the controll need to be about to shift position from standing to sitting and the other way around. Since I expect the V14 to be relative low compared to V12 I have no plans to get a seat for V14. But I might be able to share some of the physics between the V11 and V14 to help with what I see of differences to do seated riding. On a side note, I were on in a rehab physion training [rogram back in November. The the time it tog me about 40 sec to shift from seated to standing on a ;ow chair (knees bend to 90 degreed angle). This Tuesday I did it in 25 seconds. A healthy normal time for a person my age is 15-16sec. After this test I got pain in the knee so I couldn't walk all evening. This is why I ride EUCs to have a mild training for my body (knees, hips, feet and back).

This is probably the longest and boring weekend of this decade. Oddly the v14 got me into kid mode withput even being here. That said the super great news is yesterday we had 8-9C and heavy rain. So the 20-30cm snowcover is now all gone and all the salt on the roads should be more or less washed away. Unventor
So to get back to riding I took the V11S to the local IKEA for coffee and cake. As of tradition feet hurt after the winter break. I do think I will miss the trolley handle of the V11 vs the design on V14. Edited February 17 by Unventor 1
Unventor
So since we have many opinions here on the forum on many different topics, I think this video touch a very important point when discussing reviews of products. Some expressed earlier on the forum very strong options to a reviewer not talking about what they view as negative points or faults. In the following post coming once I have the V14 50S, keep in mind I am focusing on what I find great, and that comes from my experience with V8/V10f/V11/KS18L/KS16x and the Z10. These are wheels I have or do own or tested from a friend. I don't ride GW/Begode or liberkin wheels. So I can't compare to those models. Also in the spirit of this video, question is if we have same mindset or values. So take the following post coming as how I view thing. Feel very free to add your flavour of salt to what I post. That is your freedom of choice to do so. So soon comes why I bought a V14 instead of V11Y and if I still will be stoked about the V14 8nce I start using it. And of course the video about how we experience the world about us.

So, will we be in agreement that your new wheel will be the 'orange' colour, or the 'black' one? I have an anticipation that is is going to golden dark. Well back to the normal talk, I like the orange look unfortunately I expect mine will be all dark. I could actually be tempted to buy the orange parts as spare and fit these on. Now I have been looking at what things you could fit on a V14. For now O have not found much. But I did find this aftermarket kickstand. I think the orange look 1st edition would go well with this kickstand. The other part I have been looking at is a fast charger. I know Inmotion are evaluating different models but had not picked one before the Chinese Sprong Holiday (that is now coming to an end). 1

Popular Post Unventor
Okey today I had the joy of UPS, we'll not doing their job as planned. So it ended out with me rushing to the UPS sorting hib to get my stuff. Not something they were too happy about. But this means I am not a 'dad' once again to a new baby. So last week it looked like this (picture is old but it looked the same with the snow). So my plans to be able to ride once the V14 arrived was slim to none. Then we got a lot of rain and +8ish C. And now all is soaking wet and muddy. But when you have this arriving how many can resist to pop out just to do a little test? So in this regard I must admit I just couldn't resist it despite it started to rain again and getting dark and cold to the bone. So without a clue to the new suspension system and pumping tire to 35psi ai headed out, almost naked or as in without pads. 😉 So very first impressions? Any guesses? I were impressed with the V11 once I got that. And yes it was first with suspicion and I were if not the very first in northern western EU to get them a top 5. But the V14 first thought without riding it is more like next level. It is clearly an Inmotion yet not. I know some get put of with talk of build quality. But it is good or rather very good initially. One thing is not! The trolley handle do not live up to how the V11 scorpion tail trolley works. That with extra weight I wish Inmotion had put a little more onto the design rather slapping on a standard suitcase handle. It could have used a bit more of ergonomic tlc. So why put a trolley on a trail wheel? Well sometimes you get to muddy places you need to pass and riding though the mud is not safe option. Or we'll sometimes you just need to go shopping... I miss a place I can hang helmet and gloves on like this and still have good control. But I can do this though on the V14, but I don't have the same grip. But it do work. And in the end of the day it is for riding not walking. So I guess in a few days I will adjust to this. So next thing is to trolly it up of the basement. This is where you feel it is a heavier wheel than V11. I later found that supporting with other hand pushing on read handle it got much much easier to put it up the ramp next to 5 step stairs. So once getting outside and on the V14, two things struck me at first very very smooth and very nimble. Since I have not ridden much the past 3 months due winter season (snow and ice and not so nice EUC weather) I took it very slow in the begining. I have some steep hills close by so I went to these. I will see if I can get a video done once weather turn into spring later. Then on some flat straight area. Then the second emotion hit me. This thing takes of like a bat out of hell. Yes I can do it faster but it is how easy it get of the line at no effort at all. Just to be on the safe side I had limited it to 40kmh. Simply I didn't want to an unexpected bad surprise on day 1. This short trip include a short shopping detour with queue at the tills. So overall I were stoked at the V14. And it did live up to this except for the trolley. But that I did expect and yet I went ahead and bought it. The other thing I don't see people talk so much about or even at all is the battery handling or safety. It is all about insights and monitoring. Just look at this level of info about battery.... This is one of the very USP that made me go for this wheel. But seeing this in the app just made me go yeeesss this is what I asked for some time back before the V13 got launched. I know that giving constructive feedback and a manufacturer choose to listen then great things do happen, but it can take time. But it is one reason why I didn't get a V13. And that I don't need the speed and the extra weight that comes with this. I do not plan or expect ever to ride at top speed on V14. To be honest where I have locked the speed for now feel fine to me for a 16" model. I don't go skateboard stunt jumping either. But I commute a lot and sometimes a detour to a tail in the forest or countryside. As of battery it seems 8km ride took about 8% battery. This is not an exact science but a very inaccurate thumb measure. This is before I go the parking stan on, but this works too. The charger do not do the V14 justice. But atm Inmotion are evaluating fast charger OEM options. So this will have to do for now. The fan of the charger shift up and down, yet relative noisy never the less. So when I go to the job tomorrow I am probably not using pads either. The pedals spikes did dig rather good into my Vans sk8hi mte3 gore-tex boot rather well so I never felt it slippery despite it being wet weather. I might look into a different tire going forward. But I need to see the tire before buying a different one. Also a spring project I guess. So about seated riding. I will not be able to do this due to my bad knees the V14 is relatively tall for it size of rim. But not tall enough to me being able to shift fron stand to sitting down or visa versa.Others might be able to do this. I might get to do a bit more of test riding in the upcoming weekend. But if any have questions feel free to ask. Have fun and ride sensibly. 7 1

BlueCrow
That's good to hear about the fast acceleration on the V14. It's what I'm interested in the most for it. I take it your first ride was in Drive mode? Once you try Sport mode can you tell if there is a big difference between the two? Have you played around with the acceleration/brake assist setting? What's your preferred setting?

What's your preferred setting? I have activated acc/brak assist. The exact number is not on top of my head but 65ish on acceleration and 60 on brake. For now ai didn't get much ride time and nope I am not super aggressive rider so ai am not pushing it very hard. This is not why I ride stcall. But occasionally I do push more than usual for 2 reasons. Either to be able to do this if I must to get out of a pickle situation I couldn't predict or because of how timing in traffic end up at times. Eg. in roundabout where I need to cross car lanes to do a L style turn to continue on a bike lane. I recall the mode I used as comfort mode in the app and listed as drive mode on V14s display. Compared to other wheels the setting can be adjusted a lot on Inmotion wheels in general. This is what I like to be able to dail in a setting what feels intuitive to me.We are past the need of super hard ridge pedal feel in my opinion. So like it and do not get why you need other than soft medium hard setting. To me it is how I can gain a tolerance in comfort yet have a feel of the ground and stay connected to the surface. This is similar to steering a car to sensitive isn't safe but too much slag isn't great either. Heaving a direct predictable yet a tolerance of steering works best in most situations but now in all times. Now I will get to do more test rides but maybe not before weekend.
mtl
@Unventor, how did the stance feel going from V11 to V14? Is it noticeably wider, and did you have any issues with that? Also, how was the stability going down to the smaller wheel diameter? Agreed the V11 handle is very practical and sturdy, both of which sound to be lost going to the V14. Regarding the charger, I don't mind if the wheel charges slowly so long as the charger is silent, and feel better having the wheel close by or within eyesight while charging. Supervising a wheel connected to a noisy charger would be irritating. Ideally we could get a configurable charger that could switch between slow/quiet and fast/loud, and perhaps something in between to charge a bit faster when out and about but avoid tripping circuit breakers. It is late here but I try to answer. More info might come later. When upgrading from V8 to KS18L it was wider. Going to a KS16X was much wider. Going to V11 was very tall but slimmer The V14 feel more wide than what I am used to. The shape isn't the same comfort for me as I have on the V11 yet... In time I will adjust to it I am sure. I put the pedal shims on to test going to work. This might help a bit. As for the charger it is what it is. It isn't silent all the time. But I could see other charger as aftermarket options. Despite I have not yet found any. Also Inmotion are looking at this. Plus I gave feedback, so let's see what happens. One option could be the Charger Enhancer from Pidzoom @Bob Yan. But more about this later. I have ordered one, but I will share why and how it is used a bit later. Ohh and I almost missed to answer about stability vs rim size It is a mix of very stable due to tire shape vs very nimble due to smaller size rim in diameter. And that I have barely ridder for 3 months with a bad knee. So bad that last weekend I couldn't carry my weight/balance on the right leg. This goes up and down and this is why I ride EUCs as it helps me a lot.I always had an adjustment period switching between models of EUC. Now about what I mean by tire shape. Roughly the tire I have now, the new batch, is a |_|car like share. Where the one I had on V11 was a U shaped tire. Combined with V14 being tall in design and some mass at the top this means a little to get used to. This is why I said it is classic Inmotion design, similar to V10f. Or V8.it isn't any problem, just different and I will not notice it after a few rides. If I missed out something just ask again. Or if answer Ned more explanation. Note look at the earlier video about colour perception in this thread. Keep that in mind when I answer with how it feels to me. Fir you it might be different.

Are you implying that the V14 is more smooth and nimble than your V11? I had an opportunity to do a quick test ride on a latest batch V11 in a parking lot. My first impression was that the V11 was very smooth. It would be impressive if the V14 is even smoother. Although, you may not had a chance to dial-in your V14 suspension, did your V14 suspension feel firm? About when compared to your V11? Based on your first impression, did your V14 feel more stable and planted than your V11? Great to hear that the V14 has low effort and quick acceleration off-the-line. How about braking performance? The S22 smart BMS provide similar information. I also find that information useful.
