Popular Post mrelwood
19 hours ago, InfiniteWheelie said: The problem is nobody has really been able to describe how soft mode actually works. My attempt: But different manufacturers' soft modes behave a bit differently. For example, the traditional Gotway soft and medium modes are initially hard, but tilt a lot forward during a 2 second time window when you start to accelerate. V11 on the other hand is spongier, and in softer modes the softness is present right away. 19 hours ago, InfiniteWheelie said: Earlier I described a soft mode with hard stops on either end, and you said “I think that’s how softer modes do work, as a general framework”. Now you’re saying that no matter how tilted the wheel already is, it’ll continue tilting even further if you apply enough torque (hit a bump, lean harder etc). No, I'm not saying that. Even if there were "hard stops", you'd only reach them if you reached the maximum possible acceleration/braking. Normally you'd be somewhere in between, which again would allow further tilt forward in case you hit a pothole. The way the V11 feels to me in Commuter mode, is that the wheel tilts forward based on a shallow exponent of your lean. So at some point to increase the angle would require more lean than the rider is capable of, or it would reach the maximum power output of the controller. So essentially the maximum possible acceleration tilt angle. In Off-Road mode on the other hand, in softer settings the middle area is very soft and almost freely tilts back and forth a bit. But then it hits a hard wall pretty soon, and increasing the lean doesn't noticeably increase the tilt angle anymore. But the transform from the center soft area to the "hard stop" angle is too steep in my mind. I think it would work better if the center area would function like the Commuter mode in the same sensitivity setting, but it would then continuously transform to the current Off-Road mode "hard stop" within a relatively short tilt window. But again, these are all only my personal observations and opinions on the V11 and V12 ride mode settings. I would expect the V13 to function very similarly, although with small unavoidable differences due to the larger tire diameter. I'd suggest that you'd find potholes or roots to ride over, and do it repeatedly at a slow speed and a fully relaxed body, and changing the settings between each run. That would give you a clearer picture on how the ride modes behave. 19 hours ago, InfiniteWheelie said: Why on Earth would they not set a limit to the wheel’s tilt angle (where you reach hard mode)? How the power transfer curves are done exactly and how the firmware behaves in each situation are closely guarded secrets for each manufacturer, so everything we know about them is only based on testing and trying them out ourselves by just riding. Not with any kinds of angle measurement devices even. So it is pointless to try to bring up things they don't do but should do, or vice verse. These are all just educated guesses. 19 hours ago, InfiniteWheelie said: The rider could set their preferred angle hard mode kicks in, as well as the force needed to reach it. No artificial speed limiting required. That's what the sensitivity slider on Inmotion wheels roughly does already. 17 hours ago, UPONIT said: I wonder what the Physics (Ergonomics?) reasons are that Soft mode is so much more enjoyable on a tiny wheel like the Mten4, but not on larger wheels? Is it that the tinies are already skittish enough and need to have their reactivity "toned down"? I'm sure this is largely a personal preference. I like them the other way around, hard on a 16S, 70% Commuter on the V11, and medium on most large wheels. I really like the acceleration help I get from softer (than hard) modes on large wheels. 6

Popular Post Josiah
Hey guys, I’m still new at this. But yesterday I pushed myself and challenger. seems like the wheel held up pretty well, and is more than capable of this type of riding. My main problem is a lot of my falls are sort of slow motion and controlled before I dump the wheel. I try to avoid dropping it and catch it because when I drop it, the tire free spins and the wheel goes out of control spinning around on the ground shooting rocks. The couple places where you kept in shots of falls that happened on the other side of a hill, so all you see is a dust cloud shoot up above the landscape. Very cinematic. Like when Wile E. Coyote would hit the ground far off in the distance. 2. The Director of Photography and Junior Production Assistant's running commentary. 3. Showing the versatility/stability of the V13 in a different setting than usual. Note: If you insist on being so freakishly adept at EUC riding--after what? a week!? --you should at least get your film crew a better camera to document your adventures! 1 1 5
Popular Post novazeus
a couple of quick questions. the speed unlocks after so many miles? i'm at 185psi and 2.5 turns clockwise off no dampening? i'm probably close to 200 pounds suited up. and no, u don't need pads to operate this wheel. it actually feels identical to my s22 when it's lubed up. i wish it had the option like the s22 to move the pedals forward. weight is nbd because of the handles. turns effortlessly, but jacob at neltrek evolution installed this michelin street pilot 2 on it. jacob also included a seat and kickstand. it came this morning but took a couple of hours to charge. only 99% btw. tire pressure 5 below max at 40psi and all assistance is turned off and pedal softness set to 100%, which must mean max stiff pedals. at these suspension settings, feels exactly like my s22 lubed up with stock sliders. i'll play with it tmrw to see if i can make it more cadillac like. 1

Sounds like a decent over the road setting, off road i might go 1/2 turn less .The speed unlocks at 60km i think. You have to go into the app and unlock it after that mileage. Gratz on the new wheel. It looks....well it looks like a runaway corduroy monstrosity. The underside of the pedal protection might be a bit much but you cant be too careful. Look forward to hearing your opinion on this wheel. As far as the pedal softness i played with that a little today , 100% seems to be soft and 0% is stiff. I am now assist around 55% acceleration 70% braking. No power assist i found it super difficult getting up hills at speed.

No power assist i found it super difficult getting up hills at speed. i thought it was decided that 100% in the pedal softness thing, was actually the opposite. u would think 100% pedal softness would give u the softest pedals but it's actually reversed. i'm pretty sure if i had it on max pedal softness i woulda had a panic attack. i'll play with it tmrw. all 3 of my wheels are performing pretty well except for the software glitch on the s22. the next device operating software should fix it. the v13 feels identical to the s22. s22 has the ground down knobby on it which is working fine, and the v13 has the street tire on it and i didn't even think about doing anything special on my 90 degree curve. street tire is a little quieter too, i like that. yeah, i peeked in a topic about freemounting on hills. so thankful florida is flat. hard to tell after just a couple of miles today, but the v13 will probably be my favorite wheel. better be. i have 4000 reasons why it better be. about the yoga mat on the bottom of the pedals. if i dork a wheel, it's usually a tip over dismounting or stopping, caused by daydreaming. the yoga mat makes it a non-event. i've owned 11 wheels now and the v13 definitely makes the most groaning noises. idk what that is, but it is definitely the noiseist. so asking about the noise isn't a noob thing at all. it's not loud, but it is noticeable. I'm going to play with it tomorrow again myself but maybe someone who actually knows can chime in. I'm working on about 60 total miles on the 13 so no expert for sure. The suspension seems amazing compared to the v11. Night and day.

I never thought 55km/h (34mph) could feel slow, but yesterday it did to me too. But I can still get ~100km on a full charge in cold weather, which is actually better than I expected.
Popular Post Eyss
The challenger has arrived! The first few KMs were a very interesting time. My thoughts and feelings went from one extreme to another. The wheel is both big and small. Its kind of smaller than I was expecting but it's still big. I don't like knobby tires but I don't mind this one so far. Corners and carves nicely. I thought I wouldn't be able to do slow riding but I was able to do a walking pace without too much of a issue. Doing 25 is easy as well. It feels like my Sherman when I first got it. Feels like a tank and it'll roll through anything. Overall really like the wheel so far. You can tell inmotion spent a lot of time refining the wheel. It feels so polished 9
