  1. As long as the wheel charges to full voltage you regularly keep the charger in for an hour or two after it has finished, so balancing is ensured there should be no danger of any cell imbalances. I wouldn't worry too much. I don't see how charging on the side (or in any position) could make a difference for charging, never heard of that being an issue either.
  2. In the end, a better looking, cheaper(!!), better-in-every-respect Hero is a step in the right direction. That's what the Master is. If only I had any trust in good build quality, waterproofing, etc with these wheels released in rapid succession... The 134.4V board will be interesting to look at! 24 MOSFETs, where do you even put them all? Is this a joke or real? I can't tell nowadays. EX20S vs. S20 by King Song...
  3. Another week, another Begode model! 2400Wh is a bit small nowadays. 134V is cool. New board sounds interesting. Is the Hero even out yet in mass market numbers? Is this essentially the Hero 2, because it looks like that? What's the EX2S for now? Will this be another half-baked wheel? (lol yes!) Not sure what to think about it.
  4. I would consider these Gotways (like the Monster 84V or msuper V3) 50kph wheels. They weren't that fast, and are not comparable to modern 100V crazy fast wheels. So a cut-out at 55kph seems normal to me, at least for a bigger rider (50kg riders can do a lot of things).
  5. The likeliest explanation is a bad charger. Contact your seller. Nothing worse than not being able to use a brand new wheel though!
  6. Hmm the box thing that appears in big topics seems to do something a bit like that: (this one is actually the V12 topic) Expand (on the right) and you get a list of top posts. Not overly useful or structured/ordered, but I'm afraid that's all we get. I believe it can be customized, maybe something better can be done. Here's an example they give for the "thread marks" functionality which seems more useful. You can name them and everything.
  7. Xenforo (some other forum software) has "Threadmarks" which is the drop down idea of marking special posts in a thread.
  8. Upvote and Like are kind of the same. It's the default option (we merely disabled the downvote because people can't be trusted with it) so both are there. Everything can be changed and customized, if you have any ideas or requests. As far as ordering posts in a topic by score, I don't believe the forum supports it. An alternative would be to mark a post as "Important Post" (maybe automatically by score), and you could have a small dropdown menu to get to these posts. But I don't believe the forum supports something like this either. I'll ask if something can be done.

Nothing wrong with a Z10 if it's the wheel you want! Just be aware, you will need a good seller, because otherwise replacement parts might be a problem for a discontinued wheel by a manufacturer who never cared about providing service (and the Z10 has a bit of a reputation for the occasional hardware issue). If it's about snow, a knobby tire is the perfect answer. You can go through snow, mud, wet grass, and it will just dig in and not slip. You can put one on any wheel. But if you like the Z10's looks, that's a perfectly good reason for getting a Z10.

Why not buy any model from a manufacturer that is still in business?
  11. Is this a picture of the new (HT) board? Those look smaller than TO-247 to me. So they stayed with TO-220 I guess It appears a bigger board redesign would be needed to fit 12 TO-247 packages, as they are all in one row now. For comparison: an old MSX board with TO-247. These look bigger, right? Can you even have big spec differences with the same size mosfets, so one type would be too weak but another would be fine?
  12. In other words, their new board will be used for all V12 from now on. What are the HT mosfets? Are they TO-247? Rated for more than 100V? Does anybody know?
  13. Yes, that's exactly how it works. A EUC always catches you when you are "falling". Be aware that not only does the EUC catch you, it overshoots a bit, in order to "end the fall" and get you back to a neutral (balanced) position. Otherwise the self-balancing wouldn't work. So you need to actively lean (actively "keep falling") if you want to keep accelerating or braking. The wheel tries to remove the lean (its tilt) after all. When you are going at a constant speed, you are in the neutral position (in balance), just standing there on the pedals, without any leaning. Riding with your knees totally straight is never a good idea. One surprise bump and it might hurt. But I believe you would naturally bend the knees a little anyways. Just like when you are standing on the ground, that is enough. You don't have to squat or anything on a EUC. How you lean doesn't matter to the wheel, just that you lean. You can lean with or without bent knees, in any way your body allows.
  14. Check the latest posts for the most recent development! (January 2022) There have been several reports of Inmotion V12 electric unicycles crashing people by dying mid-ride. This seems to be due to their control boards abruptly failing. Multiple people even managed to kill their boards by doing a specific test. Boards that survived the test may still not be safe. Presumably this is because some components on the boards (MOSFETs rated for 100V) are simply borderline too small/weak/unsuited for their intended purpose (the V12 is a 100.8V wheel, and higher voltage spikes can occur). Maybe a batch of bad components is responsible, as this problem is new and did not appear with the V12's release. Maybe every V12 produced until now might be affected, because some components are simply too "small", and Inmotion would need to provide boards with better components in the future to really guarantee safety and a long board life. We don't know. Inmotion have acknowledged the problem, but so far their remedy isn't known: End of December message: One week later: The situation is a bit unclear, the real world likelyhood of a V12 board failure is unknown. But it seems fair to make everyone aware that this is a thing, so please inform yourself if you have a V12 or consider a V12. A series of unpredictable instant crashes is always a cause for big concern. It's the one thing that must not happen with electric unicycles. Check our Inmotion forum and specifically the topic linked below for more information. Feel free to discuss anything and ask any questions you want answered, in the topic, in the V12 Monster topic, or in your own topic. This thread will be updated if something noteworthy happens. Till then, ride safe
  15. Get a EUC with suspension! Going over an unexpected bump on a suspensionless wheel can travel to (and a bit through) your spine if you just happen to have your legs fully extended then instead of your knees bent a little. It's not terribly bad, but can be unpleasant. I had one occasion where I felt that for a few days. I can't imagine this sudden compression being good if you had a back injury already. (My tire is small and hard though, bigger tires will be softer.) With a suspension this bump problem should be fixed. And the ride will be more pleasant generally. As far as muscles, if you don't have them, you will get them, which is good for the back, isn't it? So I wouldn't worry about that, to the contrary. And standing upright in a neutral position won't stress your back, unlike being hunched over or anything like that. Also a plus point. The only thing that gets tired are your soles, because you just stand there and never really move the feet. Personally, a big part of what interested me in EUCs was the slowly undulating back movement you naturally do when you carve a little. I figured it must be rather relaxing. It is! Just the surprise bumps can be unpleasant. Fix that with a suspension, and the big tire, the suspension, and the upright position should make a EUC as good as a small ridable can be for the back. You can always ask a doctor, but standing upright and gently moving your spine should be a positive.
  16. Could you make some photos of the wheel? Just how it generally looks? Or do you know of any photos? Wondering what has changed. Is it a new shell, or did they somehow get the batteries in the old one?
  17. I don't know, but I'm 99.99999% sure the answer is "No". The manufacturers keep their firmware close and secret, and I never ever heard of any manufacturer allowing any kind of firmware modification or customization (other than the predetermined ride modes).
  18. There is no interchangeability between brands. Some wheels from one manufacturer use the same motor, so naturally you can use the respective boards with the respective firmware with the one motor. That's all the mix-and-match you get.
  19. By the way, the forum software supports custom reactions. So if we want and someone has a really good idea, we can implement it! Ideas: "Hello" to simply say hello "Agree" and "Disagree"? Might be a bit redundant, though. "LOL Gotway" and "OMG Inmotion" and similar reactions for the latest manufacturer shenanigans. Or a more generally usable "Facepalm"? "Ouch!" for the crash reports
  20. @EUCandME and everybody else who asked: thank you for bringing this up! It took a while and for the stars to align for everyone to get into gear and do something, but ultimately you started this!
  21. All that happened is that the forum software was updated to the latest version. Now it makes sense that Invision (the forum software provider) has to keep up with the times, stay competitive, and give people what they want, for better or worse. Forums are under a lot of pressure from Facebook groups, Discord, Telegram, etc. So factors driving the all-important "engagement" (the achievements, and also the upcoming more varied "Like" options) that keeps people coming, as well as (potential) monetization options, are there for those who want them. This has nothing to do with this forum. You're not going to see any monetization here. And if and how we use the available options is up to us. For now, see the post above this:
