Popular Post Chronic
Hello EUF users, I hope you're all staying healthy and positive during the pandemic. I am sharing some improvements and changes from the latest batch to Begode RS (with pictures) The left and right positions of the RS LED logo, buzzer and BT audio module have been changed. Changed from the old green instrument cluster to red LEDs. (this is an obvious setback since visibility is very poor) The module of the DC subboard was separated from the main board and installed in the original BT audio space. Waterproof and dust-proof would help a bit, but in my opinion it's a very waste of space. The motherboard looks very poor and lonely. It is somewhat disappointing that the aluminum heat sink could not be designed larger if the DC sub-board was separated. A retaining clasp is installed on the pillar so neodymium magnets are no longer used. As the motor bearing bores became smaller and the fillers changed, the main shell was molded once again. The cooling fan has been downgraded *obvious cost savings* The connector of the battery pack has been changed from XT60 to MT60. The motor bearing bore has become smaller. Bearing size is 6012 RS The mudguard has been improved and now gives a bit more protection to my hips in the rain while riding. I hope you like this post and that you find it informative. EUC Custom Power-Pads
Wow, that's a lot of downgrades, except the mudguard 😅 The display is just ugly. Edited July 19, 2021 by EUC Custom Power-Pads
conecones
Thanks for these photos! Looks like Gotway still can't make up their mind on where to put that fan . But there are some positives I can see too: Splitting the board. It's easy to add 2+ additional fans on the bottom now. Board cover is probably still bad idea if you push these wheels since they already run hot. Bearing change. Finally! Probably to save money, but this also saves users money when it needs to be replaced - this is now a common and cheap size. Also should be more water resistant like traditional axle bearings. Screen has a better trim/seal that covers the edges properly. On my version the edges of the LCD screen is exposed and not protected by the trim. I have to add silicone to seal it.
BecauseFun
All in all, not the greatest news, but thanks for taking the time to relay it. $31.90 Shipped for the bearings, if that part number matches up. That would't be bad. https://www.amazon.com/6012-2RS-Bearing-60x95x18-6012-Shipping/dp/B07X5TX78Y I wonder how challenging these might be to replace? I know Mike Leahy said that he used different pedal hangers for his jumps, but on the whole** this redesign seems less reinforced then before. I hope the redesign ends up being as jumpworthy as the original. I agree, definitely a few minor downgrades going on. I wonder if the red gauge can be made more visible by finding out if a particular color of translucent thin plastic was placed over the gauge, could that make the red more legible? Mine isn't due for a while but it might be worth playing with this a little when it shows up. Hopefully there isn't a redesign of the pillar so that retaining clasp could be removed and a magnet could be put back in the right place to make aftermarket pedals stay in place with a magnet as before. (I think a pillar design for whatever reason would be highly unlikely, but I hate to assume) I know at least one batch of RS19s had pedal dipping issues, but I think I saw that a while ago. Does the latest batch have that problem? At least maybe it has a chance of being fixed if it's true that all newer gotway black boards used with the newest Android app have firmware upgrade capability now. It's a shame they didn't seem to change anything directly related to the wheel being more waterproof, but that's gotway. ** Sort of pun definitely not intended... reminded me of this just as I noticed it: 😁 Edited July 20, 2021 by BecauseFun Typos+

Popular Post Menace
Wow, I honestly don't think begode should call it the RS anymore, they should call it the RSX. It's changed so much (motor, controller, shell, pedal hangers, connectors). It seems to be about the same difference as between the MSP and the original RS. Thanks for sharing, it's interesting seeing EUC news. Here are some of my thoughts: -I like the internal heatsink (my batch3? RS doesn't have an internal one and it likes to run hot, around 60C) -lack of pedal magnets is a downgrade imo -display looks horrible (both placement and quality), that picture hurts to look at -I don't know about the motor and pedal hanger set up. It certainly doesn't look as beefy as the older one but it is hopefully more water resistant (And the bearings don't cost 150 bucks to replace). -I like that the shell seems a bit more sealed (especially the hole where the motor wire comes through), the original one is practically . The hole leads right into the hollow motor bore which is open to the dust flying around in the wheel well, and to add to that there's a little fan right next to the hole pulling air and dust in. -Imo they should have changed the screen position while they were remolding the shell, that sideways facing away display position seems terrible (although I haven't actually tried it since mine is a pre-display model). I am new to this forum (sort of, Ive been reading it for a while but only now have made an account), I'll introduce myself in the section for that that I saw earlier if I can find it.

Best regards, Chronic This is the most informative post I've seen in a while thank you for sharing this with the community. What revision is the RS on now. My favourite improvements were the Mt60 and smaller bearing.
onkeldanuel
Is only a smaller Bearing really that much improvement in terms of failing because of Water/Dust? While one should think ab bigger Bearing can Take more force/load in this Hollow-Bore Configuration ? Its Exposed to dirt in the Same way Then before without additional Protection / Cover
Hansolo
But very less expensive in case of replacement...
onkeldanuel
Thats right...an additional Cover would solve the Problem with bigger and smaller Bearings at least they stay clean and will survive much much longer tough...
Popular Post yuweng
ecodrift documented a much more detail on this new 6012 hollow motor its certainly better than the old design but i think its still not water/ dust proof yet
