Popular Post redfoxdude
I wanted some more grip on my Nikola, and the stock pads were super uncomfortable for my short legs. The Nikola is already almost too wide for me! So, I made some from 2mm EVA foam. The primary portion of the pad is 6mm thick, and the portion for bracing your knees for extra torque goes out to 14mm. I think it's super comfy, and it helps a lot with all the big hills on the way home on my commute. Currently experimenting with a different, removable, adhesive for holding the pads in place, and I've tweaked the knee bracing sections to hopefully be more durable. I just need to find a way for bonding the layers together that is less of a hassle than spray adhesive. What do you guys think?
greentung
I like the contrast in padding colors. It fits with the crazy LED light show on the Nikola.

High-temp hot glue works wonders on EVA foam if you squeeze it enough. That or the tried-and-true Contact Cement! If you want something removable or that you can shift around a bit to get the angle and placement just right, I highly suggest Locking Velcro! I used it for a while when I was making my custom pads for my Monster!

EVA foam is the same stuff as craft foam. The same kind that you can buy at craft stores in small sheets.
Popular Post Alien Rides
I saw these pads, loved the look, and bugged @redfoxdude to sell me a pair. Of course I made a little video riding with them:

Thank you for your interest. I am still refining the design and build process, but I do hope to be able to sell some in the near future, albeit in lower quantities since I am making these in my free time. I'll let you know!

Popular Post redfoxdude
Sorry for the lack of updates! Work got real busy, and this project got put on the back burner. I have still been iterating on the pads, though. I am almost satisfied with them now:
Gonzales
Hi. Please tell me which part is what thickness, and if possible, show a photo of individual parts from which everything is assembled. Also very interested in what Shore hardness of the material?

(I thought it was just me not being used to such a wide wheel and that I'd get used to it, but it's really not improving fast/significantly enough. Everyone says it's the stock pads which I could see being the case/I'm hoping is the case.) Edited November 26, 2019 by AtlasP

jcool
Hi there, first post! I just got my Nikola and wanna start riding it "the right way", i.e. with proper padding. Could you contact me for terms of sale, if you are selling those pads? If not, could you share any design patterns you may have created, so that we can try to replicate this ourselves? Best regards from Germany
Korberon
Are you ready to sell those pads? Or they're still in development stage?
