I recently rode the most northern part of the Via Claudia Augusta, one of the most important and most famous of all Roman roads, which connected Venice with the Danube river. It is now an official European cycle route, marked "VCA" on waymarkedtrails.org I started my tour in the small town of Kaufering, which is around 33 miles west of Munich, and the photo was taken just a couple of miles north of Kaufering.
