You had blue and red flashing lights. That is not okay on any street vehicle other than the police. Hardly simple 'bicycle lights.'

I asked in the YouTube comments OMGitsRAAZ what kind of lights were installed yeah, wondering if the flashing blue and red lights were from the police car? Or from the light the police officer took offense to. The escalation is painful to watch.
Popular Post Paul A
https://www.aclufl.org/en/know-your-rights/know-your-rights-if-you-are-approached-or-arrested-law-enforcement-police The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Law enforcement officers in Florida must treat everyone fairly, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin or religion. You are only expected to identify yourself to Florida law enforcement officers (police officers and Sheriff’s deputies, not immigration or FBI agents) when you are stopped on suspicion of a crime or a traffic violation. If you don’t have identification documents, you may choose to remain silent. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Keep calm. Do not interfere with the police or obstruct them. IF YOU ARE STOPPED AND QUESTIONED You have the right to remain silent and cannot be punished for refusing to answer questions. If you want to remain silent, tell the officer out loud. But note that you are expected to identify yourself to Florida law enforcement officers when you are stopped on suspicion of a crime or a traffic violation. IF YOU ARE ARRESTED Do not resist arrest, even if you think it is an unfair arrest. Edited March 4 by Paul A 1

Popular Post OldFartRides
Apologies for adding to the derailment, but that is the same muppet we saw very recently doing this speed run on a highway… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyHKyueXeZI Anyway. Sporting red and blue lights is like waving the red flag at the bull. JMHO.

It would be best to know for sure, before reaching conclusions on that one, if these were blinking red and blue lights which can can reasonably be associated with law enforcement - or LED strips with blue and red. A clear red / blue blinking pattern can range from unwise to illegal. Something like an LED strip mounted on a backpack or a wheel with various animations cycling that happen to include red and blue at some point, that's different and many of us could have been in trouble. I initially thought about re-adding colorful LED strips on my new wheels that come without unlike the previous generation but changed my mind. Great, standardized non-blinding lights on the wheel (like the V13 has) is what I prefer now. Edited March 4 by supercurio 2
Popular Post jmsjms
I used to have wearable red and blue blinking lights, but I was scolded on the road once for impersonating a police officer; so, I went to the police department to get the conclusive word from them... and they told me to remove the blue blinking light. In the US, you can mix red with something else, but not blue! Edited March 5 by jmsjms 1 3
Hellkitten
In the US, you can mix red with something else, but not blue! In Canada it’s the same, plus they want you to put the red lights on the rear of your vehicle too.
A High Roller
My parents live in Miami now. So I will probably visit. And when I get there, I might go to a meetup. And there is a possibility that RAAZ will be there. And knowing that makes me want to stay far, far away from any meetups. 1

I got a reply in comments, so he got lights sold by Amazon as "Bike lights" A quick lookup shows that many lights blinking blue / red are listed following the "bike lights" query like this one with patterns of different colors or that one with a headlight and taillight which blinks red/blue On your V13 or any other wheel, be extra careful with these, they'll get you in trouble. Video demo of one of them 🚔😬https://www.amazon.com/vdp/07316f113e244e75ab259a7358ac9487 I mean, why is Amazon selling this stuff? Popular Post Mango
If dude said "sorry, didn't know" when asked about the red and blue lights instead of giving attitude (which this guy has plenty of) he wouldn't be in the hassle and trouble he is in, but it sure gives a day's worth of entertainment value. Like you give attitude to an officer, what does he expect will happen? Anyway, this video is a reminder to know your rights when confronted by a LEO. 5
Tasku
Can the red/blue light police encounter be moved to own topic? What I looked into it, it was not about v13, not really anyway. You do get pulled over pretty much any country for blinking blue/red, no matter vehicle. I first thought this could been brake light and some blinking blue, but if it was that bikelight with both blinking.. During night-time officers seem to have even less patience. 30sec is not very long time to explain situation, but prolly the officer asked ID for longer. Just not in that footage. The person did say he was stationary as he was approached, but I think they make case of traffic violation and one would have assumed it would been ticket or removed light. The video does not quite show what kind of force the officer used but atleast the camera was thrown off immediately, based on that not much a possibility to follow verbal orders. Not saying the "customer" did not help by arguing, I see people already picked sides in this encounter. I think I did not see all of involved footage. You would have to look into what is the florida police code of conduct, if that was by the book.

He was totally belligerent and cocky toward the Police officer. A little respect towards the officer (or just any human for that matter) and it would've been a whole different outcome. I have no sympathy for this clown. Talks, rides and acts like a self entitled fool. If you're on this forum platform, take a long look at yourself ya numpty. 5

EDCampstore
He really needs to start thinking about wearing his helmet. In addition to the standard DOT 58 MPH crash rating, I find they are also very effective at protecting your head when the police are assaulting you with their riot batons. Popular Post Cerbera
Wow... 'All this aggression is unnecessary' he says, having been responsible for all of it by being inflammatory from the start ! Police guy was very reasonable to start with, but even he lost his composure near the end, and it is hard not to understand why he might when confronted with such belligerence in the defence of something that is evidently illegal. I was amazed the rider had any attitude at all ! He seemed to have forgotten that he is sitting astride an unregistered vehicle of questionable legality before we even get to the damn lights !! When that is the case you surely need a supremely conciliatory attitude right away if there are to be any chances at all of the better outcomes ?!! As a sort of horrible lesson in how not to talk to a) police and b) humans in general, this should serve the community well ! I wonder what would've happened if the rider guy had said 'Oh, I can't have anything blue ? I'm so sorry. Thank you for letting me know - I will remove those now and not use them again ! '. He doesn't even have to mean it - just to make it sound genuine ! I did worry about that when I first got the Master, whose tail light glows blue when stationary (but not in motion). Fortunately for me I guess, my Grizzla handles block it from general view... and my under-pedal lights, which I would have blue if I could, to contrast nicely with my red lasers, can change to any colour, so red on red will have to do !
