Arbolest
I need Begode to hurry up and get this thing out there into the light so I can figure out if I actually want it! If they don't hurry I'm going to have to buckle down and mod the heck out of my EX30 to turn it into an ultra long-range cruiser... There are tons of rides I've wanted to do for years out in the middle of nowhere (no chance to charge) that this kind of wheel would actually enable me to do! There are 10 days of national holiday at present in China. Therefore, we have to wait until the end of February to get latest news, however, I am sure this new wheel will be released this year. If it is in the middle of nowhere you could drive there with a car first and pre-position/hide a gas generator

I'm coming up with ways of charging/discharging using MPPT solar charge controllers, you may be interested.

I don't understand that decision since this wheel will be the most expensive, with the highest sustainable performance... The people willing to buy something this expensive would prefer to pay extra for better cells. For now I'm intrigued and will wait around to see what they come up with before settling on a 168V wheel.

Is there such a thing as too much overhead, when it comes to safety? I'd want to use this EUC to haul a lot of equipment, so for me every bit of power towards safety would be well worth the money... But I suppose you are correct when it comes to how most people would use this EUC.
timmytool
The main limit on 50e is the regen (and in turn recharging), I've overpowered several times unexpectedly while braking. You dont have the same headroom while braking as you do accelerating imo. Having a 6kwh pack will negate a lot of 50e s downsides but why compromise when 50s can be used. That being said a aftermarket molicel p50b 6kwh pack would be a game changer as it could safely charge at 3 phase ac ev chargers at max load (usually maxing out at 22kw where I live, but pack can take 30kw). Would need a custom charger etc but that would be a incentive to move up to the minimum voltage ev DC fast chargers use......

I'm certainly excited to see what wheels we'll see next from Gotway, it feels like it's been ages since they announced a new wheel (compared to the usual two per month) I hope they don't scrap the super high battery capacity concept.
d3fault
If it ain't waterproof, I ain't buying it. Imagine spending $5k+ on a car but being unable to drive it if it *might* rain. "rain anxiety" now that B[S]MP solved "range anxiety" :-P
Frolic0415
Potentially some more details coming out in a few days
YCC
It makes sense for Begode to make a beyond 4000WH battery wheel of 168 voltage since Begode had not yet announced a large battery wheel with higher voltage after LeaperKim announced Shreman L.
YCC
Let’s calculate the possibility of the battery spec. 4.2V*40 =168V 3.7V/3.75V * 5A* 6P* 40= 4440WH/4500WH 3.7V/3.75V* 5A* 8P* 40= 5920WH/6000WH

WheelGoodTime
Welp... 2-3 days have come and gone and no announcement yet. That's egg on my face, I guess. Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up. My hopes were dashed as well that the announcement didn't come yet also. Rest assured that a 168v Begode long range wheel is still coming, and soon.

But I'll keep it to a single post so I don't de-rail the thread too much. I've wanted a 6000wh+ wheel for a good loooong while now, and as I posted on this thread back in February, If Begode didn't hurry up and deliver on this kind of wheel, then I was just going to have to do it myself! Well, my patience ran out. I decided to take my modded EX30 (which I love to death ) and add 2400wh worth of external battery packs so that I could go on all of those super long rides (120 miles +) that I've been dreaming of without needing to charge mid-ride. This was necessary because most of the rides I was interested in were out in the middle of nowhere with no electrical outlets for 50+ miles in any direction! I wanted to keep the system modular though, so that I could still enjoy the EX30 in its natural, leaner state. The packs just slot into some low-profile receptacles that are permanently attached to the wheel's original battery cases, and are held in place with a single strong locking pin. Perfectly secure and easy to put on and take off. It only takes 1-2 minutes of setup when I get to my ride's start point and take the wheel out of the car! I kept the battery packs low on the wheel for stability (this isn't really meant for jumping or hardcore trails or anything like that...) and ride comfort, and it worked out perfectly! The wheel handles smoothly and inspires confidence. The extra mass helps absorb bumps and road cracks, and everything is contoured for good ergonomics. The leading and trailing corners are also inclined to prevent corner strikes when turning sharply or climbing super steep mountain roads. It's perfect for how I ride, and I love every second of my adventures on it! These are some pictures from my trip to Death Valley this May! The first pic is the wheel without the packs, so that you can see the mounting receptacles. The rest of the pics have the packs installed. This next one was fun. The sand/dirt was extremely soft and deep with a thin crust on top. The wheel broke through the crust and I had to get off, but it remained perfectly upright for more than a minute, just standing there!   This wheel has opened up SO many outstanding adventures for me in the past few months that I can't even imagine not having it now. I really think that Begode is missing out on a golden opportunity -- a wheel with this kind of range is truly game-changing in terms of what kind of rides are even possible. Where you can go, what you can see, how much you can experience... If there was a simple, off-the-shelf wheel that could enable this kind of thing without people having to carry tons of extra gear like adapters, chargers, cables, etc., you'd better BET that they would jump on it! I know I'm not alone here... 7 2

Wow, a dream, both the wheel and your tour example Be sure to have backup water and communications if you were to break down far away from civilization, because you definitely can get there with this wheel! mhpr262
That looks really professionally done, very nice. Nothing I could use though. The way I ride (cruising at 16-18mph) my legs and feet would quit way, wayyy before the battery was empty. Even the 3.600Wh battery of my EX20 is already more than enough for me. I rode 120km once and still had like 30% of the battery left at the end of the day.

I just got confirmation from a primary source that this EUC is still coming and is still actively being developed. 6000wh, 168v, built on the ET Max chassis (more or less), but extra fat, as all touring wheels should be. I don't know what the name of it is, but "super master pro" is just a placeholder name since it's better than nothing. Â

WheelGoodTime
yeah this one definitely isn't called the race, that's another wheel. Probably the photon if I had to guess, calling it a "future" doesn't seem particularly fitting, but that's just me.
