It would be interesting to see how low they are to the ground with you standing on it. Also, is it just temporarily on there with 2 bolts and you haven't put in the other 2? Because the original hanger has 4 bolts to the chassis. thanks in advance.

hou didn't ship the 36 m6 22mm bolts that we talked about. i have some 20mm coming today sometime and 22's on monday. the 20's will work probably fine, but the 22's might be better. the hard work is done. bolting 6 bolts per side is easy.

hou and i are already talking about making a less drop pedal hanger, maybe 50mm, but until i bolt these on and test drive them and measure, we won't know.

supposedly the v13 has 90mm of suspension travel. i have about 125mm clearance to the pedal hanger so fully compressed suspension i still have 35mm clearance.

this isn't something west coasters with their rocky ridiculous trails would want, this is more in the vein of wrongway's video when he did the suspension delete kit. more street than offroad, although mine won't have a problem lowered navigating the ranch i don't think.

yeah, i just stuck that on to take a picture. it willlook much better with the 6 stainless steel bolts. very clean design.

respect for your dedication in making the wheel (pedals) comfortable for your riding style , but i just can't understand how you manage to ride with your feet in that forward position, it's nearly that your heels are placed over the center of gravity, and i have tried that, just for fun, result: feels like the wheel tries to run away from me (without me...) and braking is a complete lottery like leaning back standing on a pole 😂,or just like soldiers on a parade, fainting because they are standing to long on their heels.  Besides this, these pedal hangers look good 🙂

i have a size 12 shoe. my leg bone is more centered in this position.

these are my feet position after a ranch ride.

i'm just giving my toes a platform.

yes, after 7 years of wheel manufacturers putting the pedals in the wrong place, it does feel weird not having ur toes trying to grip the front of the pedals. (except God bless king song for the option of lowering and moving forward the pedals on the s22).

if u have small feet and always ride like ur taking a dump, ala chooch style, then u would want more centered pedals, like before suspension wheels.

but we don't have to ride like monkeys anymore, we have suspensions, and somebody forgot to tell the manufacturers to at least give consumers the option to move the pedals down and forward.

i drive "solely" with the soles of my feet. my legs do not touch the wheel body at all unless i need a little extra lean or tilt, but normally all tilting, leaning, turning, accelerating, braking, is done by merely standing on the pedals, the same way u would a 9bs2 or a v8.

i seriously doubt a padded up wheel type rider could ride my ranch/raw land. because have ur legs so attached to such a heavy powerful wheel on this moon crater terrain would snap ur legs like marty's ankles.

when i first attempted riding my pastures in 2017 on then the largest most powerful wheel ever made, my first wheel, the king song 18s(lost in the fire but i would be using it today anyway)the very first thing i taught myself was how to dismount without getting hurt. as my father said, "if u can't figure out how to fall off a horse, u should not get on one".

if this massive tire hits some anomaly hidden beneath "whatever", i want the wheel going one way and me another way. happens all the time on raw earth.nbd.

everytime i ride the ranch, i know i might fall at least once. if i don't, i win. sugar sand is just a coin toss. i'm always amazed when i roger thru a patch of sugar sand.

it's nothing like the boulders and rocks marty and roger like to play on. i think they all are insane or suicidal. but i am a flatlander.

there’s quite a bit of dihedral with these oem pedal hangers. i like that the spiked pedals can’t hit the body.

in hou’s kit u should get all the bolts needed and the actual pedal hanger is oem inmotion one that comes with the inmotion pedal drop kit.

hou is making this massive backplate, which can be used left or right btw, course u will never break it, and that’s it.

very simple. adds lots of weight i’m sure but all below the axle.

bolts are out for delivery and it’s windy as can be so i’ll go prep my holes with acetone. i think 6mm of threads sb enough. the backplate is 14mm.

a video or two are worth a kadzillion words. about how many hou and i exchanged designing this.

the 20mm m6 are perfect i think. the inmotion part they screw into isn't very thick, maybe 8mm. i still have the 22's coming monday. i supposed i could lock washer and washer the 22's but acetone cleaning and blue loctite should suffice. the wheel will break before this backplate will break or come off.

windy as hell and i'm heavily medicated, so my mind and legs haven't made the transition to the proper pedal position yet. it is different. u are gonna want to be 6' tall for the 70mm drop. i think hou can make a 52mm drop and still clear the batteries.

haha, i don't wanna meet the beast that can scrape these pedals. u see me bracing myself for the tip over weight.

yeah hou could build this with a 55mm drop if u choose, and whatever forward u like.

but if ur tall enough, this makes padless one leg holding easy.

looks clean and modern to me.

it's official. just rode the ranch in the wind.

O M G

the v13 has gobs of low end torque, np. this makes a completely different wheel. no scrapes, not even close and i hit the worst hole at speed that dislodge my left foot, i was airborne.

i don't want to tell people to do this, because like one observant on fb said my lynx 40mm forward backplate would make it more difficult to stop, haha.

yeah, this is only for pros, not amateurs. i hope hou makes a deal with inmotion and they package this as an option.

u will be AMAZED! climbing my pock marked hill with ease. maybe easier than the lynxes.

u have so much leg on the housing, if needed, like a wind gust.

i know my path very well, i'm sure some of y'all know too, there's places that are difficult to do u-turns or cutbacks and the v13 now, does it effortlessly.

hou should send a set to wrong way. if he still has a working v13, or maybe inmotion will pass around the pro with this modification.

the michelin 90/80 r16 city grip 2 makes this wheel as good as it gets.

so, two more v13 tire changes, and i'm gonna wait until these 22mm bolts show up bedore mounting up the pedals on the other two.

this does eliminate two complaints about the v13, top heavy, no torque.

hopefully this will help clarify what i'm accomplishing using hou's backplate.

my shoe is even with the back of the pedal and now i'm gonna design a bumper stop for the heel of my sneaker to bump up against so i know my feet are perfectly positioned.

please notice that my shoe still extends well past the front of the pedal, and the shaft of my leg is still behind center, standing erect.

if i bend my knees, the shaft intersects the center line and the wheel moves forward.

u know, i was thinking, as easy as it is to swap out these backplates, 6 bolts, i may have hou send me a couple more sets so i can try out some aftermarket pedals.

she did gain weight. 119.4 pounds now. but she added it down low which makes her much much friendlier.

i'd like longer, wider, pedals.

i ordered a nice stainless steel micrometer since i like to sit on the plastic ones and break them, and i measured the hole depth and it is a little over 9 mm so with the 14mm backplate, m6 22's sb perfect. they are coming monday and i'll change out this first one and install the rest. 15 minutes.

i rode my 70lb lynx to the gate to get my delivery and decided since i hadn't ridden the 70 since the 40mm forward modification, i should get a lap in around the ranch before dark.

O M G, what an improvement! makes riding my moonscape like pavement.

hou is wanting to make less than 70mm drops on the backplate, which i think is perfect, but shorter riders might prefer 55mm drops instead. with the 40mm forward extension, 55mm will be necessary.

i like the 70mm drops also because it protects the suspension tubes.

only 17mm clearance, so i'd go 55mm on a shorter drop.

how low can u go?

s22 diy pro with lowered forward pedals for comparison.

tmrw i'll have 8 wheels with lowered/forward pedals, or as i like to say,

the correct position.

Do you have any pictures of you standing on the lowered pedals on the v13 so people can see what to expect?

i'm running a hair over 200psi. had 37psi cold in this michelin 90/80 r16 city grip 2 and it cornered and rode nice. still plenty of capacity. max loading at 45psi is 430pounds. definitely the tire going on the other two as well. really handles nicely on dirt and pavement. i figure me and the wheel are around 300 pounds.

it's amazing. takes some getting use to after 7 years of squinching my toes up. so relaxing and the control is amazing. like a different wheel. gobs of power. i was doing cutback uturns with ease, and i suck at those. what a difference.

u know, i figure if i clip the hanger, i would have probably hit the suspension tubes as well. i'm not a jumper. no curbs or stairs out here. just endless dirt potholes. the bad ones could break a knee. that's why i prefer a firm/harsh ride with less bottoming out.

the big wheel of the v13 helps tremendously. like my s18 can do it, but it would beat u to death, literally.

i like to show my work.

here's what i discovered was about perfect for me at 180 pounds riding weight with the v13's with the original knobby tire.

i doubt i'll change out these knobbies now that the pedals are positioned properly.

i know i'm on to something, because i did a test ride with the shocks at 200+ and the knobby was probably at 45psi, and i couldn't wait to get home. dropped the pressures in both, and thought i'll just do an out and back to see what i thought, and it was so good i did my whole route. i think i handle the v13's as good or better than the lynxes.

175psi in the shocks, dampners fully off counterclockwise. 10% less psi in the 396 max loading tire, so at 36psi for predominently ranch riding.

u know what else is so cool about this design, i don't need another one of hou's backplates to try new pedals, i just can use the extra optional pedal mounts supplied in the first inmotion v13's. four bolts each side.

and i'm sure hou already has in the works a 55mm drop with adjustable forward positions for asymetrical riders.
