space.shell
@Rawnei, I've had the same feedback from InMotion via MyEWheel a few weeks ago. Does your friends new board come with any unique markings to show any differences between the newer and older board?

I don't know, I don't have any hands on with his electronics myself, he just moved to another city and he's pretty new to EUC's and don't have that much experience servicing them so I'm not going to probe him too much about it. It would also be useful to know the serial numbers of the V12 HS or HT, on which problems occur. In order to identify, from which series onwards the anomalies have been resolved. 2disbetter
@rax this is exactly what happened to me on a HT and how I broke my shoulder. The V12 is a huge stain on inmotions records. The crazy thing is how reliable the V13 is.
t3slanik
So, has anyone narrowed this down to a failure mechanism? I recently purchased a broken V12HT with the prospects of fixing it. So far, I have identified 3 bad mosfets, a bad OP AMP, and a suspect bad zener diode. Though, I don't know the history or mileage of this machine yet. It would be nice to compile some data on what parts are failing instead of relying on inmotion to provide details... In my case, all the failed components are on 1 phase of the motor.

The typical scenario is that someone who's not too versed in electronics gets a fault and Inomtion just sends them a replacement board which they install, think it might be hard to find the info you're looking for and you're probably going deeper than most already.

I hope inmotion at least says something soon about these. I am not looking forward to another community based investigation on issues. No offense to anyone who has helped in the past. The community really has been amazing.. But its not a valid replacement to the manufacturer doing what they are supposed to do. Report and fix issues. Even if they say they are looking into it would be nice at this point. Isn’t this all naive thinking? Most people that do something wrong try to hide it. It is an irresponsible and infantile reaction, no doubt, but that’s what most do. In today’s world of MBAs philosophy where quick profit is god, hiding your mistakes is an immediate solution. When the V12 start falling like flies in the early days InMotion pretended was nothing wrong with it. Of course, wait for InMotion’s inspection report of the recent incidents if you wish so. I won’t. I trust the user’s (and sometimes the sellers’) analysis of the problem more then anything. In our community we need specialised people to do this job. For the moment our community is quite small but I have no doubt it is just a matter of time until we get better organised. This Forum is an important place for disseminating relevant information and it might be one of the seeds for achieving just that (as long as the owners and moderators don’t try to stifle it). I wish all the best to our community and my heart is with the people who had to suffer after their EUC failed on them and have no doubt that we will become stronger and better organised. t3slanik
Yeah probably true. I think I have found the mosfets and op amps sourced from China. I'm having an issue finding the correct diode though. It has a marking of "NX" on top. If anyone could help identify it, that would be a great help.
